I decided to come here on my lunch break with my sister our hostess was so nice and apologized for the table being dirty and cleaned it right up. But on the other hand our waitress was so rude and didn't even bother to apologize for the wait it took to just get our drinks. When we received our food the manager (or at least someone who looked like a manager) decided to give us our ticket at the same time. There is nothing that irks me more than when servers do this. It makes me feel as if I'm being rushed and they aren't taking into consideration that I might order something else. The only thing I like is their shakes. read more

We live near here so we have tried it out on several occasions. Every time we have had a negative experience. I'm pretty easy to please but the service is terrible. We have waited for our food over 30 minutes every time. Even when we go through the drive through for shakes we have had a 20 minute wait just for our shakes. I haven't been to a Steak'n'Shake for about 4 years, so you can imagine my delight that these are all over the metro area. The resturant was very clean and a youngman named Miles escorted me directly to a booth. He gave me a min to look over the menu.and promptly returned for my drink order. My food came out suprisingly quick and Miles checked back enough to be helpful but not looming. I was pretty impressed with the service, but the burger & fries is what won the prize. Worst service ever. Went in to get a shake and it took 19 minutes before they realized they gave my shakes to someone else.

Not bad if you're looking for a quick cheap lunch. The burgers are generally good and they have the $4 meal deals now (with a burger/fries); a drink costs extra. I love the shakes here though (they serve the side by side shakes where you can get two flavors side by side in the glass). The service is generally pretty good and I've never been unhappy with a meal here. They'll split up checks without any problems when you go to the register to pay and the servers have always been prompt when I ask for anything (condiments, extra anything, etc.). Parking is plentiful and convenient and the place is usually kept pretty clean. read more

Other than having a coupon, I won't be returning here. Drink order never taken until 12:22, by that time we had full order ready. Didn't get drinks until 12:38 when I stood up, waved at waitress and made a drink motion. Got 2 of 5 drinks, no shakes. This place is only good during the day. Day shift is so much better. I've been here both shifts and the night shift service, not the food, are Less than professional. Our waiter was worried about another 2 tables because he wanted to hit on the females. He took 15 minutes to just put our orders in and never tried to worry about the milkshakes we ordered to have WITH our meals. Ended up having to get the shakes to go. Really poor service, even with a table full of managers having a meeting there. We were seated quickly enough, but the waitress never came to our table. 3:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday, only 2 or 3 tables occupied. I went up to the counter and told the manager we wanted to order but no one would come to the table, so he took the order. Just a couple of shakes, they never came, and never came, and never came. The managers having their meeting were oblivious, so after waiting 20 minutes after placing our order (which was about 15 minutes after being seated, but not waitress), we left. Customer Service is a JOKE! Friday evening, sat at the drive thru window for 10 minutes and no one acknowledged us. I then proceeded to drive to the window and still no one acknowledged us until 15 minutes later. The young woman was very rude and when I asked if the speaker was broke on the order menu all she continued to say was, "What would you like to order ma'am." Keep in mind while waiting at the window maybe about 4 employees passed by and didn't say anything. Daughter and I went through driveway. I should have told daughter to go somewhere else because we were only folks in drive through during lunch hour. Ordered foot long dogs and one flavor shakes. After awhile the dogs were delivered to us through the drive up window. After another five minutes or so, same guy came to window and wanted to know why we were still sitting there. Now this is same guy that took order and was in mid-30s. Told him that we were waiting on shakes. He asked if we had ordered them. Told him yes. Same guy that took order and delivered half of order. Walking in we had to wait to be seated even though there were multiple booths open. Then my hamburger was a mess. The waitress was nice but she forgot to give us our check and we waited at an empty register too long before we were finally able to pay and leave.
