I was just in this establishment. (4/23/2026) I am a long time customer. The lady behind the counter had 3 orders to call out. she called my number first. I went to retrieve my food, she asked me to wait after she saw that I was white. She proceeded to call out the next number, which belonged to a Hispanic gentleman, then called the other number, which belonged to a woman of color. Once she served them, then she gave me my food. I expected a mediocre Burger at best, but Burger Express came through with a delicious Burger, delicious fries, and a delicious jalapeno ketchup. It's a little divey but the meat is too shelf. I had to half pound burger with a fried egg on top which was delicious. I tried their fried chicken sandwich as well, really really good. What they serve is a damn good burger. They have two sizes of burgers to choose from 1/3 pound and a half pound. If you are not in the mood for a burger they have chicken sandwiches both grill or fried. They also have chicken strips and a Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwich. The burgers are flame grilled, which is always something I enjoy. The fries are cooked to order so they are always hot in charge with your burger. And it is in the details that sets themselves apart they even serve their burgers on a perfectly toasted bun. If you order a combo meal you get your choice of crinkle cut fries seasoned fries or onion rings. For a burger with cheese and fries and a drink you will come away spending just under $10. If you want to add some of the add-ons it will be slightly more. Some of the add-ons that they offer are bacon fried eggs grilled onions grilled mushrooms and grilled jalapenos. They also have a bar from which you can get lettuce tomatoes onions pickles and jalapenos to add to your sandwich. The only disappointment in this place is that they do not serve dessert! read more

This place is great if you're looking for a delicious good ol' fashion burger. But you can also add different toppings if you wanted to get fancy. Bacon, grilled onions, and an egg on top is how I like mine and it came out perfectly! I'll have to try some of the other options next time. The seasoned crinkle-cut fries come out hot and crispy, not soggy like other places. The new owners are friendly and it looks like they're planning on remodeling and changing up the menu. I come here at least once a week for lunch. The burgers are pretty decent, and it has a condiment bar with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, banana peppers and pickles. Tried this place as it was close to a vendor we were visiting. I got the cheesesteak sub with Cajun fries! The sub was huge with at least 1/2 lb of meat or more! Visited this place for lunch and OMG what a hidden gem. Walked in there was a little bit of a line but it was to be expected considering it was lunch time in a busy industrial area. Ordered the 1/3 pound burger with Cajun fries. Food took maybe 8 minutes to arrive. Absolutely love the fact that I can pick my own fixings and condiments. Everything was clean, fresh and on ice at the self serve bar. The burger was amazing and well worth the price. I'm typically not a fan of crinkle cut fries but these are seasoned well and come out fried perfectly! As for the burger, I got it with grilled onions and a sunny side up egg on top and man it was delicious! The burger was juicy and served in 1/3 and 1/2 pound patties. As I sat waiting for my order I observed a woman cleaning table after table including wiping seats with the same towell never using any type of cleanser, she just kept smearing the same rag over everything. Whatever the towel picked up got smeared across everything. I literally can not remember the last time I had such a BAD burger. Located in a small strip mall at Valwood and Luna with inadequate parking, and difficult ingress/egress from the parking lot, Burger Express is just below Whataburger on a comparison scale of fast food burgers. The 1/2 pound burger is good sized, but was overcooked (burnt around the edges) and therefore a bit dry. They had a number of types of fries to choose from, I went with traditional cut and they were okay. A burger, fries and a soft-drink however was nearly $12, for that kind of money I could have gone to a gourmet burger joint like twisted root, liberty burger or similar places. They have a toppings bar that seemed decent, but not great. I wouldn't call it unsanitary as another reviewer mentioned, however their choices for ketchup, mustard and the like were from a pump style dispenser, that left a lot to be desired, and didn't seem like Heinz, but rather a cheap off brand, so thumbs down on that. Overall, for the money, I'd pass on this restaurant as my 2 star "Meh" review suggests. Sorry Burger Express but you either need to lower your prices, or start cooking burgers to order and quit skimping on the condiments/toppings. read more
