This used to be a favorite place of mine but not any more. The place is dirty; May shoes were sticking to the floor and the counter. It took forever to get my burger and malt. Yeah, five stars. Probably because in part that I wanted a steak burger soooo bad! Along with their shoestring fries! Double cheese with apple wood smoked bacon, extra onions and mayo. OMG. Everything came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. The bacon was fantastic add to my already favorite fast-food burger. We found the dining area busy but clean, as was the loo for the hand wash visit (for nailing all those fries in my eager fry-hole! Bonus YELPER Tip: Always cover the fry pile when it gets to the table with a folded napkin to help retain the heat. Trust me it works good and is the only way to eat them. Hot to warm that is. OMG, and I only spent $5.00 + tip+ bonus tip to Victor for being so attentive and accommodating. Congrats man. Came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast . Maybe the weekend is different from the drive thru reviews? Pancake tastes better than what IHOP has to offer. the server waiter guy was very polite . I'm pretty sure I've been in this drive thru for 35 mins and counting. I think there were two cars in front of us, but we still sat at the speaker for like 10 Mins before anyone took our order. I have never been stressed out by a meal. Never have I wanted to bad to hug a waitress. This place is a complete disaster, and was unquestionably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. We sat down at 2:15, but were ignored for 10 minutes. Our chewy, but still semi burnt cheeseburgers took half an hour, during which we watched terrible staff argue basic logic with each other. I never leave reviews because I don't see the point ;however, when I am brought to a point of disgust like I was here I felt it necessary. Every single water glass was dirty. Physically dirt surrounding it as well as a fly in our water when the waitress placed it on the table, she claimed there was a "chip" in the glass so she could take it back without us noticing. The napkins surrounding the silverware were dirty. The silverware had smudges as well as food on them. Chipped glasses. Floaters in the water. Tables were sticky. And the waiter was nice enough but checked once to take our order and then to drop off the check. I don't live here but holy hell was this the worst most disappointing excuse for a "restaurant" I've ever been displeased to step into. read more

While visiting from Wyoming, this is my first trip to a Steak N Shake and no this location has mediocre reviews based on service time, I was greeted and seated within 2 minutes and my order quickly taken at 12:55 p.m. at 1:04 p.m. my double burger with cheese arrived and so I ordered cole slaw instead of fries, they quickly brought me a complimentary coleslaw. With as many cooks working in the grill I thought my burger would have arrived hot, but it was lukewarm. Tasted OK, but I wish that Florida's Royal Castle hamburgers we're still available. OK for the money, $6.19 for double burger with cheese, and fries or coleslaw, and a soft drink. Actually came in looking for a real steak sandwich but I guess everyone today is calling hamburger steak. read more

Only go in the morning, the service is better with the morning crew. The rest of the time, service is bad, food is not up to standard, and the sweet tea taste terrible. I kept trying to get the attention of the staff and they would quickly look away and avoid eye contact. We had a party of 6, so they cleared tables for us; It's not as if we snuck in and expected them to find us. We finally got up to leave and I walked up to a staff member, had to stand directly in front of them to say we were leaving because NOT ONE STAFF MEMBER had come to take a drink order, say they'd be right with us, etc, and they proceeded to smirk. I LOVE Steak 'n Shake but I have to say this one in Clermont has some of the longest waits for seating and food that I've ever experienced in a Steak 'n Shake anywhere. And this has happened on numerous visits spread out over the last couple years. I asked for 4 #1s and 3 kids combo, why does the person taking my order give me an attitude saying "your order is going to take a while" when did I ask how long it was going to take? However when we arrive they cannot take the coupons through the drive thru only inside orders. So we park and make our order. Several more people come in after us and they receive their orders before us. Keep in mind we only order 2 burgers. Finally after 30 minutes I go up to them and they completely ignore me. Absolutely terrible. Everytime we go, my mother orders food without cheese because she is lactose intolerant. What do we always get? Cheese on the burger. Sometimes when we ask for three fries, we only get two. One time we were given a part of someone else's order AND charged for it. The people at the windows are extremely rude and never respectful. When we asked for the people to replace the burger w/ cheese for a burger w/o cheese, the MANAGER stated that "It's not our fault, but okay." I distinctly remember a time when I ordered a cheeseburger without ketchup, onion, or tomato, the person at the order station very coldly stated: "So just a burger with lettuce." The menu does not state what comes on the burgers. Absolutely unacceptable service. We've been going here for years now when desperate and it has NEVER changed. I doubt it ever will.
