I have had a great experience with Starry. I moved into my current building last August and their internet service came recommended by the building employees. I received a promotion for a free month in the mail, signed up, and not long afterwards, Starry held a promotional event in our lobby. I was disappointed when I found out they were offering two months free through the event, but they were so nice, they credited me an extra month. The app is easy to use, and even when the internet cuts out (as they all do from time to time), they are quick to fix it and responsive to questions/issues. After the pandemic started, I found myself working from home more than usual, and I found their internet to be very reliable despite the added strain. I've had a great experience with Starry Internet so far. The setup was very simple: they stopped by right on time and took care of it in an hour. I agree with one of the other reviewers that this was one of the best installation experiences I've ever had. They also gave me one month free as a new customer! The Internet is fast and I've never had issues regarding speed. There have been lapses in service that happen every now and then when I lose Internet for a couple of minutes every few days, but in my experience, that happens with every service. I've been a Starry user for more than two years now. I think I've had at this point with their weekly service disruptions.

Had high hopes for Starry but they couldn't possibly be worse than they are. Tried there 500mbps speed. Constant buffering on shows and videos, pc pages that don't load, it was terrible. I went to their Terrabyte and it showed zero improvement. I gave up on trying to use the router as a wireless router and connected both my TV and my pc with LAN cables and it still buffers to the point where I can't even watch at times. Many times I'm forced to use my cell phone to watch TV by turning off the WiFi, cutting Starry out of the equation and using my cellular network to screen mirror to my TV and it's flawless. Moving in 3 months and I relish dumping them. Their customer service is useless. Polite and patronizing but as useless as they could ever possibly get. They're no great savings either. They're at $80 per month and Verizon, who runs circles around Starry, is at $89. Stay as far away as possible. read more

I moved into a new building and was informed that is was wired for Starry. I had never heard of Starry but figured it couldn't be as bad Spectrum, my previous provider. I was surprised to learn how much faster & more affordable Starry is compared to Spectrum. Sure, there are the occasional outrage, but overall I couldn't be happier with Starry. I'm conflicted because on one hand, Starry has absolutely quick customer service. On the other hand, I've been with them since Jan '21 in Los Angeles and the record number of days without noticeable outages can still be counted on one hand. Anyways, do I pay more $ for worst customer service, slower upload speeds, but more/less consistent internet with Spectrum... or pay less money for great customer service, mirrored download/upload, but deal with unstable internet that drops my zoom calls, trade executions, etc. ? I also do not like that they push you to use their router and make it difficult to use your own. For someone with custom network setups, this was particularly frustrating. My communication with Starry has been them telling me the problems I've experienced are because I do not use their router. Only now did they admit that there has been something wrong with the network on their end... But hey, I get it. It's likely that their employees are just running routine tests that may have some cracks to slip through, and they are just reporting what they see... 1.8 / 5 ! .. I love Starry. Their internet is fast and affordable. I had an issue once and they resolved it within 30 minutes.

I'd been waiting with anticipation for Starry's fixed wireless to get to our building, and wasn't disappointed. Everything has proceeded flawlessly, from the initial inquiry to installation to using the service, and I'm getting over twice the bandwidth for half of what I've been paying Spectrum cable. The download speed is over twice as fast, the upload is 4-5 times faster, and the price is half as much, but with great customer service. Everyone from Starry has been smart, fast, resourceful, informative and friendly. I have yet to find a downside. I'd recommend Starry over anything else I've tried. read more

Starry is GRADE A internet! I dropped my Spectrum internet subscription for Starry. Lightning fast internet and I'm not just saying that. I would suggest getting an Apple TV, Fire Stick, or something like that since it's just internet but it's def worth the 50 a month I pay. The customer service is awesome too! read more

Please avoid this internet company. Read the reviews below since that sums up much of what I've gone through, but let me throw you some bullet points here: -Their Tier 1 CS is awful (minus Niketa). They talk to you as if "we know each other" and let it escalate rather than let the customer vent. They say things like, "if you stop complaining...I don't want to talk to you (hung up)...." and onward. I wrote a review on Google Maps but "Alissa" said it was "resolved" which it wasn't since my internet is STILL going in and out this morning. CS Tier 1 keeps hanging up. If the customer is irate due to year-long outages and incompetency and work responsibilities being affected, then yes, the customer has every right since CS haven't a clue to what the issues are. It takes the customer standing by what they believe is the issue and calling back repeatedly to convince said CS rep(s) they're not correct, which the majority of the time they're not. I've read the history on this company. The technology will not last. Interesting concept using antenna's, reflections, etc., but nope. -CS is undertrained, doesn't know the answers to questions, and blames the customer by acting, again, as if "we know each other personally" and they can say what they want. -And "Alissa," you're WRONG. It's spotty AGAIN this morning where I've missed calls on my devices and will miss a meeting for something important. I've had classes drop and editing sessions drop because of the unstable service. It might say "connected" but IT'S NOT!!! -You have to chase them down for answers and solutions. Even the techs don't know at times or give contradictory answers. -You get what you paid for. A flat $50.00 rate means nothing. read more

Couldn't be happier with the Starry internet service at our apartment complex. We tried ATT and spectrum and don't have Fiber in our complex. Both ISPs were terrible for us, internet would always drop and lose speeds. With starry we noticed a huge improvement, seems like we don't get throttled, and we get faster speeds than what we technically paid for! Would highly recommend giving them a shot! read more

Fast and reliable internet, no shady contracts and price increases. Great tech support and easy-to-use app for troubleshooting. Installation took a bit of time, but the technician was able to get it done within a couple of hours. When he came in the apartment and noticed it was a no-shoes home, he even put on cozies over his shoes. I also don't have to worry about price increases after a year and deal with the song and dance of negotiating for the promotional rate that I did with other ISPs. I've been with Starry for over a year now and my concern at the time was that everyone was home during Covid and that it would slow the internet down! I explained this to the reps and they assured me that this was not the case with Starry that - even if many people were home and using the service at the same time, it would NOT affect my own speed as each unit does not share anything (unlike other companies). I can vouch that till this day, I haven't had any slowdowns at all. I have, however, experience a few times where my internet would be down and I would contact customer service, and right away it would be resolved. It was usually due to an update or something they needed to reset on their end. It only happened 2 times or so during this whole time of using Starry. I already referred a few people and they have had no complaints as wells. I have the highest speed that is for my area and it is $50 flat for 200 mbps tax included! That is such a steal compared to Cox or AT&T. I am planning to use Starry for years to come if I can! read more

Wow! That pretty much sums up this company and their internet service. They are professional, polite, and simply the fasted internet service for less money than Spectrum/Time Warner. We were so happy to say goodby to Spectrum. Unfortunately, Spectrum couldn't let go. They erroneously billed us for equipment which we never had. We used our own modem/router. A year after we canceled Spectrum we get a collection letter for unreturned equipment. Typical of the low life behaviors and arrogant customer service at Spectrum. I was one of the first tenants in my building to switch to Starry and I am so relieved to have them as my new provider. Spectrum was overpriced, difficult to work with, and very spotty. Set-up was incredibly easy, with customer service being top of line and extremely helpful. I love that the price is locked and that it is on a month-to-month renewal vs a long-term contract. The speeds are much higher than before. Although there are times when it's spotty and I need to reboot the system, it is still MUCH better than Spectrum. If your building doesn't have Starry yet, inform your board! My brother has been trying to get his building to switch, but is facing massive pushback saying Starry is a scam. It certainly is not a scam and is saving me a lot of money. read more

I love, love, love this service. I was with Spectrum paying $71 just for internet.. and very slow internet at that. I stream ALOT and play video games, and this service definitely keeps up with my pace. I maybe have only one instance where it was a little slow, but it lasted all of 10min. The set up was really easy. The only reason it took a long time to set up, is because they had to redo the wires and connections because they were so old. The technician redid EVERYTHING, and cleaned up everything when he was done. Now I have all new wires! Overall Starry is amazing, and I haven't had any real issues with them thus far in the 2.5 months I've had them. read more

It has been a month since I switch to Starry from Spectrum. Maybe I expected too much from Starry Internet service, but I am really disappointed because of the quality of their internet. It was working fine when I first started the service, but since then, it is getting worse and worse. It is super laggy in both wifi and wired connection and it got to the point where I cannot use any of their services. IT DOES NOT WORK. I called the support team and they said 'we acknowledge the issue in your neighborhood, but there is nothing we can do to fix it at this point'. They are trying to resolve the issue somehow, but no one know how long it will takes to resolve it and it has couple weeks already since it is not been working properly. All they can do is offering me another free month.. what is point of free month when you cannot use your service. I hope they prepare more before they start their new service in LA area. read more

I've had starry for almost a year. No issues with connectivity (seriously- like ever). Bill is so streamlined and easy and low. Service members are incredibly responsive and installation is seamless. Only complaint is that the router is not very good and can't manage to get a good signal in my bedroom which is right next to my living room (small apartment). Started the service in October. I've never had this many problems with internet service before. What's the point of cheaper internet service, when it's not working. The Starry station says I'm connected, but I keep getting lag spikes, dropped connections and blank Netflix screen with error messages. Their customer service is friendly, but there's not much they can do I figured. I'm always asked to reboot the station and wait a day, if it doesn't fix the problem. TWC doesn't provide great service but at least their uptime was almost 100% for past decade. I think I'm being generous with 2 stars; 1 for the friendly customer service, 1 for the price and 0 stars for not working as its instability. My T-Mobile tethering is more stable than Starry. read more

I am SO HAPPY that I chose STARRY. All I wanted was fast simple internet. Not "cable" and ridiculous cost for TV that I never watch. I wasn't sure if STARRY was for real -not as common a server but there was a flyer that was avail in my apt building. I had in the past drama with comcast, and Warner and well- pretty much every internet provider. But the worst part of all was poor customer service and the connection itself. I have had STARRY for about 6 months and only had one small issue that was solved PROMPTLY over the phone w/ a tech person and I am not "techy". But most of all EVERY SINGLE PERSON I have spoken with at STARRY has been outstanding, super nice-even FRIENDLY!!! And helpful. I almost can't believe I have found a company in 2022 that has actual HUMAN BEINGS you can SPEAK WITH who are eager to solve any issue and do it super fast. As well STARRY is part of the CA program that subsidizes part of my monthly payment for low income residents. TOTALLY no stress in getting that signed up. And because STARRY has the BEST PRICE of all companies- what I pay after the support amt is affordable. DO yourself a FAVOR and get STARRY! read more

Excellent service and great connection speeds! I moved to L.A from NYC and was looking for an internet provider. Starry was the only provider that was able to set up an installation date for the day that I moved in so I decided to go with them. I was impressed by how hassle free and convenient the set up process was, the technician arrived within the 1 hour time frame they gave me (other companies give you a 5 hour time frame, who has time for that?) and walked me through the whole process. The customer service has been excellent and I have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to talk to a representative. Starry is one of the best value for speed ISP in Los Angeles. Customer service is top notch: quick, direct, and efficient. Download and Upload speeds are consistently over 200 Mbps each.
