Haven't been here for awhile, the server was especially quick and pleasant. Ambiance hasn't changed in years, we sat at a table which was comfortable. My Cuban sandwich was delicious and plantains amazing. Nice portions so leftovers went home with me

Food was good and plentiful. Service was very attentive during a busy Sunday brunch. Our group left very happy.

Starliner Diner moved from the original location, but they took the mural wall as a Digital reproduction. They retained some of the kitch. It would have been nice to have a fan or art student do mural reproductions. The food was good. Not quite as amazing as I remember. The adobo and machaka didn't have the long cook flavor. The jalapeño soup was stellar. The bread was excellent. Service was good for a busy Sunday but not warm and welcoming. Since we don't live in Columbus anymore, the trip down memory lane was nice but not to be repeated. We

Two words: Mofongo Omelette Give me bacon, ham, plantains and cheese inside of my omelette anytime. It was sweet, savory and enhanced even further by the smoked chili sauce and green onion dressing that covered the dish. No complaints about the home fries or Cuban bread that accompanied the omelette either. I love the portion size, overall value, Cuban influence, interstellar decor, and parking lot. I'm so glad to have finally tried this place after several trips to Old Hilliard for other reasons.

Very eclectic diner. Friendly service. Slow to get our food this visit but worth the wait. Breakfast is served all day. The omelettes are large. The farmers omelette is potato heavy but the potatoes on their own our delicious. Ropa Vieja has excellent flavor and spice in the sauce. The rice and beans are little bland and could use some seasoning but were cooked well. Excellent plantains fried crispy and sweet. The bread was OK but nothing special. Definitely recommend for a great filling breakfast.

My favorite place for breakfast. Just keep in mind they are always busy on the weekends. They have fair prices and great food options. The service is excellent and they are always friendly. There's plenty of seating inside and out. I'll keep coming back to Starliner diner

Generous portions, good food, seated immediately . Service was excellent and the food came out quickly. Quiet and less hectic than on the weekends.

Starliner Diner has to be in the debate for one of the best breakfast spots in Columbus. This place was outstanding! My wife and I had been wanting to try this place for quite some time.y parents were in town so we decided to try this place out. We are so glad we did! We left very full and very happy! Everything on the menu looks delicious. Service was okay. They clearly stay busy on the weekends so the employees are hustling and bustling. It was a bummer to have to ask for refills on my water and coffee but if that's the only complaint I left there with, it clearly wasn't that bad! The food absolutely made up for it. Great ambiance. It feels like a classic diner. Perfect place for brunch with friends with the full bar ready to give you the hair of the dog!

The service was a little slow today especially waiting for our check. But very friendly as usual. I got the eggs, potatoes and Cuban toast. Nothing special but good food. We also had mimosas which are good. It's nice to go out to breakfast and have mimosas! The ambiance is funky and there's a lot to look at so it's a great place for kids. I used to play I Spy with my son all the time at their old location. If you're in the area, you must check it out.

I went to Starliner Diner for breakfast on a Monday morning and thought it was such a cute & quaint place! The decor on the inside was unique and funky. They have both indoor & outdoor seating. The place wasn't too busy when we got there so we were seated and waited on right away. They have a good breakfast menu with lots of options, but they also serve lunch & dinner as well. For breakfast I ordered the Starliner burrito, which was scrambled eggs, chorizo, refried beans, & jack cheese topped with ranchero sauce, sour cream & queso. It was very tasty and super filling. My boyfriend got the farmer's omelet which was another good choice. All in all I thought the food & service was great. It's a perfect laid back breakfast place that definitely hits the spot.

We had brunch here on New Years Day. I honestly can't think of a better way to start a new year. This place is easily my favorite dinner in the Columbus area. We get the Cuban Style French Toast. Every. Single. Time. I'm not even mad about it, it's amazing. If they ever don't have it, that would be incredibly disappointing and I would probably get mad... we got a small order, which was still more than enough! We only ate about half of it, and half of our respective entrees. For reference, we usually get a large and never finish it either. I think we almost finished it last time when it was 3 of us. I had the pork hash. I think I had it the first time I was here. It was delicious this time as well. I got the eggs on top scrambled, but you can order them however you'd like. I think we got there at the perfect time, because shortly after we were seated, the place filled up! The service and atmosphere is always great. Looking forward to many more trips here this year!

Our last visit we were blown away at how fresh and well baked everything was. Even the oatmeal was smooth and creamy. The servers were also so happy to help us select items and tell us about the products. This time, we were an afterthought and seemed liked a nuisance for not knowing what we wanted. I felt like the pastry selection was small compared to the location we went to before. The breakfast sandwich was really thrown together- the last time it was warm and cohesive with a good amount of sauce and the eggs were so fluffy and light. This time very rubbery. The croissant I had was raw/doughy although well flavored. Oatmeal was one big clump versus smooth and velvety. The strawberry matcha was super sweet with almost no "matcha" layer. Our cinnamon roll was over baked with no delicious gooey bits. Seemed like an affluent neighborhood which will support this addition, but maybe an instance where expansion is happening at the expense of quality.

I was a bit hesitant going in because it's been years since the last Yelp review -- that lack of recent buzz (good or bad) felt concerning. On a Saturday night, it wasn't overly busy, so we didn't have trouble getting a table (they don't take reservations but do accept call-aheads). I ordered the burger and onion rings, and both were genuinely delicious -- I was very happy with my food. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't as smooth for my friends. One has a severe seafood allergy, and she was shocked to learn that all fried items (fries, onion rings, etc.) are cooked in the same oil as the seafood. It made her nervous to order much else from the menu, and we almost walked out when we found out. A separate fryer or dedicated oil for non-seafood items seems like a basic accommodation these days. Two other friends are recovering alcoholics and were disappointed that the only "non-alcoholic" beer option still contained a slight amount of alcohol. Their only other choice was a sugary mocktail, which isn't great for diabetics either. In 2026, it's surprising that a restaurant/bar still struggles with these common dietary and lifestyle needs. The food we did eat was solid, but the evening felt dampened by the lack of basic accommodations. There are plenty of other places that handle allergies and non-drinkers much better. I would have scored them much higher if they could have accommodated this basics.

While there were a few minor service issues, our server was kind and attentive and acknowledged the celebration with complimentary desserts, which we truly appreciated. After dinner, my cousin and I went to wash our hands and use the restroom. At the time, all stalls were occupied and one was out of service, so we waited. When a stall opened, my cousin kindly let me go first. I finished and stood outside the stalls waiting for her for about three minutes. During that time, I noticed several people going in and out of the restroom area. I also saw a man sitting in a chair along the hallway wall near the stalls, hunched over. Shortly after, a woman exited the restroom and grabbed him to leave. I thought nothing of it and minded my own business. I also observed the executive chef enter one of the restroom stalls. When my cousin exited, she mentioned that the stall smelled strongly of smoke and that three girls had exited the stall before she entered. She said the stall smelled like marijuana but used it only because it was the only option available. She also pointed out that the man sitting outside appeared to be associated with the group who had been in the stall. We then returned to our patio table where our family was seated. Our server brought out her birthday pie along with another complimentary dessert. She blew out the candle, we shared dessert, and we began preparing to leave. A few minutes later, while we were still seated on the patio, the general manager, Nick Krafft, approached our table accompanied by Executive Chef Michael Wagner. We initially assumed he was checking in on our experience. Instead, he immediately stated, "I'm going to have to ask you not to smoke in our restaurant and bathroom," directing the accusation at my cousin and me. We were completely taken aback by both the accusation and the manner in which it was delivered. We calmly explained that it was not us and described exactly what we had observed in the restroom. We stated that neither of us smoke and never have. We even offered to have our belongings checked and explained that we had not taken any jackets or purses with us to the restroom, as our family remained at the table. Despite this, the general manager refused to listen or consider our explanation and continued to place blame on us. He did not speak to our server, who had interacted with us just moments earlier while bringing out the birthday dessert, nor did he attempt to investigate further or de-escalate the situation. As we were leaving, my fiancé asked the general manager if he actually smelled smoke on either of us. He responded "yes," which was not true, and continued to push a conclusion he had already formed. No apology was offered. We spent over $1,000 celebrating a family birthday at a restaurant we had trusted and enjoyed in the past. Instead, the evening ended with my cousin's birthday being overshadowed by an unfounded accusation. There were many guests dining that evening, yet blame was placed solely on two women who had simply used the restroom. I am a Nurse Practitioner, and my cousin is a special education teacher for autistic children. Neither of us have ever smoked. Being accused in this manner was humiliating, hurtful, and completely unnecessary. I was later contacted by the regional manager, who was understanding. However, I believe this situation highlights the need for better investigation, accountability, and staff training to prevent similar experiences in the future. A personal apology from Nick, acknowledging his actions and taking accountability, would be an appropriate step forward after innocent guests were wrongly blamed and a birthday celebration was ruined.
