We really enjoyed their Sunday Brunch! The food was absolutely delicious and so much to choose from. The staff was so friendly and attentive! Everything was clean and set up so nice.

So as I was having dinner tonight, I looked around and realized that the restrauteur at Azteca Mexican Grill had decorated a significant portion of the seating area with photos and accompanying biographical sketches of Mexican-American women, each who are extremely strong, positive role models. Pioneers & leaders in their respective fields of work, activists, & philanthropists. Great human beings. I think this is an absolutely fantastic & uplifting message of inclusion to put forth in the community. Well done Azteca Mexican Grill! As for the food it was fantastic! The aromas of spices was outstanding. I selected the Texas Fajitas - which were juicy and flavorfully prepared, AND there was plenty to take home and augment my breakfast or lunch tomorrow! The portion was reasonably priced. As I looked around to the 3 large tables my group occupied, I noted that the variety of food selected was varied and looked to also be well prepared. I heard no complaints and only saw smiles from our large party of 18!!! The restaurant was tidy, appeared to have a well stocked bar area and a small but nice patio in the front for outside dining. Staff were friendly and attentive, with the ordering process for our large group being efficient. The food arrived without to much of a wait time. Quite a few other tables were also taken, so it appears to be a busy and popular place to eat - at least on an early Thursday evening. I was impressed and quite happy with the very positive messaging of the decor. I'd definitely like to return again some time!

Carnita was really flavorful and a big plate. Fajita Hawaiian was also very flavorful. Great presentation and also customer service. Food was prepared and delivered quickly.

Brunch

Wow! Brunch at Azteca was an unexpected treat! When we walked in, we weren't sure if there was an event because it looked so fancy! The buffet was filled with various breakfast casseroles with a Mexican flair. Egg dishes with chorizo, seasoned potatoes, and a Mexican lasagna were among our favorites. It was on the expensive side ($25pp I think) but well worth it. Pricing for the buffet is on a little specials placard on the table.

This place is a hidden gem in Powell! Their portion sizes are great, and i think everything they have on the menu are all pretty tasty too. Friendly service, and the inside looks nice, looks like they will have a patio during summer time too. I would def come back again

Chicken fajitas for two

I visited this restaurant on a Friday night around 7:30. The two of us were able to be seated right away in a booth. We started out with the small guacamole, and then complimentary chips and salsa. I enjoyed the guac, salsa and chips. For our entree we split the chicken fajitas for two. This was a great portion size as we had lots of leftovers and were able to make breakfast tacos the next morning. The service was friendly. I thought this was a nice spot in powell to check out with a large menu and good options.

Birra Tacos (little greasy but that's the type of meat) and Tostoda and Burrito. Fantastic food. Freaking fast service. Love coming to this place. It's truly a "hole in the wall" without being a hole in the wall restaurant, worth visiting! The molacata is always a family favorite.

Terrible food honestly. It's not authentic Mexican food. It's the blandest "Mexican" food I've had.

It was okay, Not a whole lot of flavor or seasoning, Served Semi-warm. Large portions and the prices were good.

Lively place. Good cocktails and plate size is generous. Would go back every once in awhile as it is not in my neighborhood.

Worst burrito I've ever had at any Mexican place. Tasted exactly like a microwaveable burrito.

So I go to do online and says can't place at this time. So I call 2 mins later sounds like they answer and slam phone shut and hang up....Odd. So I call again and ask to place a pick order and what sounds like a high school aged girl says we're not taking orders at this time. I said oh can I ask why I mean you are open right. And she said it's been a slow day so we decided to close the kitchen. That's odd it wasn't a slow day when you didn't answer the phone and then slammed it closed because I presume it annoyed the high school girl. Seamed like a nice local, healthy place to try for first time. But not gonna deal with little high school attitude.

The last time we went was a prime example. For one thing, when you ask a patron whether their gluten-free option is an allergy or a preference, it can come off very rude the way it is ask. If someone wants something gluten-free, then it should just be made gluten-free. No questions asked as that is rather intrusive. The second thing is we were eating lunch and there were about eight other people in there. It was 2:05. We didn't realize what time it was. They could've simply said. "Hey we're closing in the dining room" and we would have left. Instead they started putting up chairs and mopping the floor. There was an elderly couple in there, and I am on crutches due to A knee surgery. We all had to leave over wet floors and they seemed to care less. Even locking the front door and asking us to walk down the wet hallway with no rugs to leave. It was merely 2:10pm. They were downright rude and could've cared less for the patrons safety.

The restaurant is bright, welcoming and very clean We were seated in a side room with the bar, a large projection TV screen with the volume on MAXIMUM and two smaller TVs advertising menu items. Those TVs featured some seriously delicious looking items! Service was ok. Drink refills were not offered and I needed one. We both ordered lunch specials advertised for $10.99 but billed at $11.99. Hubs ordered the lunch chicken bowl with rice, black beans, grilled chicken and corn. The corn was served refrigerator cold. The rest of the meal was hot. Overall the food lacked seasoning. I started with a cheese empanada. Expertly made and fried with goody cheese inside. The empanada was served with a dmall side of green sauce that I thought was cilantro based. I ordered the lunch Pabellon Bowl with pork, white rice, black beans and a sweet plaintain Everything on my plate was served hot but also without seasoning making it bland. I used the empanada sauce to add some flavor to the pork and rice. In summary, I wanted to love this restaurant the advrtised images on 2 TVs are gorgeous but the food was bland. The projection TV volume made conversation difficult and service could have been more attentive. This was our first expusure to Venezuelan food and probably our last. I still stand by the fantastic empanada. I would return for that alone.
