    The lunch menu
    Jeffrey B.

I've been here once before for lunch and we decided to meet friends for dinner. It was great to see they changed their menu. I am Deaf and there is a young girl who is CODA (children of deaf adults) and is fluent in sign do it is always nice to make that connection. We loved how the place is decorated, especially in the back room we were in. Our waiter, Jason was attentive and friendly. We had great service. The food we all agreed was top of the line. Could not have been better. We already talked about coming back. This is a great place to dine and one needs to experience in order to understand why it's a staple in the Dublin community.

Had a good meal at NAPA but service was pretty sparse, I think the server wanted to get out of there and kinda forgot we existed. But the food it good, maybe a bit more pricey compared to what to get, but it's a nice cozy space.

    Braised Beef Short Ribs

I came to NAPA this past Friday with my boyfriend for his Christmas work dinner. We were in a party of 14 people and dined in a private room. The room itself was very nice and I noticed the regular seating area looked very cozy as well. I'd had the braised short rib at the Taste of Dublin and had been craving it again ever since and was very excited to be coming back! Because we were in a large party we had a set menu. I started with the veal meatballs and some type of mushroom toast. The toast did not blow me away but I LOVED the meatballs. I'm very picky with meatballs so was hesitant at first but the sauce was amazing and the meatballs were so tender. I then started with an old fashioned that was pretty good. We had three courses for the meal and started with a choice of soup or salad and I had the Napa greens salad and my boyfriend had the wedge. The Napa greens was also pretty good but we were not fans of the wedge. To start, it was not a wedge, just random pieces of iceberg lettuce. It also had no bacon, the ranch was pretty watery, and there was hard boiled egg that made the entire salad taste like one giant egg. For the main I had the braised short rib again and it was the star of the show! It comes with mascarpone risotto and what I believe was carrots and parsnips. All the flavors paired so well together and the short rib was so tender. For dessert I then had the bourbon bread pudding that was served warm with vanilla ice cream. I wasn't able to finish but just a few bites as I was so stuffed, but it was also so delicious. We also had a red blend and Cabernet served with dinner which were both delicious wines. Our server was very attentive and nice the whole meal and we loved having the privacy of a private room for our party. I'll definitely be coming back on my own again for the short rib!

Food is outstanding. I love the cozy feel everyone I step in here. Service is great. The wine selection can be overwhelming. I can't wait to come back!

They hosted a beautiful baby shower for my sister in law! The server was so nice and accommodating, making sure everyone had what they needed. The food was delicious and so was my cocktail. Everyone raved about their meals, and my sister in law and her mother were so happy they didn't have to do any of the cooking or cleanup! I definitely want to try this place for dinner another time too! They left a great impression.

I had the CHIPS ON FISH. Absolutely delicious and definitely the star of the evening. Worth mentioning an excellent pairing of wine. Bill had the CHICKEN SALTIMBOCCA which wasn't much to write home about. The chicken breast was very thin and over good. Serve was lacking. . I was so excited to give this place a try but doubt we will be back.

This place has kinda a rustic, dark, earthy ambiance with great decorations with tons of wine bottles to order and drink and as decorations all over the place. For a first date or a date night you'll impress your partner by bringing them here on ambiance alone. Great friendly service but SOME of the food and drinks just aren't executed as well as they should or could. I was gonna order a Benedict or scramble that they have with short ribs but a guest in the party ordered that and I decided to try something different so I got the Salmon BLT. We didn't know the lady on the guest list but she said the short ribs or brisket in her hash, scramble, or Benedict whatever she ordered was tough and chewy and she sent it back. I knew I dodged a bullet with that one. My Salmon BLT was pretty solid but the salmon could've been a little larger. The sweet potato fries with the sandwich were a hard pass because they were thin cut, not as fresh as they could've been and seemed to lose heat. The fries that came with my kiddos chicken finger kids meal were WAY BETTER than the sweet potato fries. The MASCARPONE RISOTTO was awesome! If you're not a fan of mascarpone or the texture of grits then don't get this but if you like and know mascarpone and risotto this is the side for you! We ordered Calamari that was an absolute HOMERUN! One lady ordered French Onion Soup and another ordered a crab cake dish but again we didn't known most of the folks at this gathering event. The layered cake was okay. It was cold, didn't seem housemade and maybe ordered from GOLDBELLY or something but was good. The WORST part of the meal for me was the cocktail that I ordered. It was so bitter that it was darn near undrinkable. The lady next to me kept telling me to send it back but I was over it. Folks that know me know that if the FIRST DRINK I order is good and on point then I'll definitely order another but the bartender blew it and I was done drinking in this place. The misses ordered some type of pasta dish and it was fine but my mind wasn't blown. The ONLY problem with this place is that when we went it was not that busy at all so you'd think the chefs and bartenders would have a little more time ensuring things were executed and prepared better. Food seemed slightly haphazardly prepared like they had a packed house and were rushed but this was not the case when we went between 1pm-3pm on a rainy SATURDAY. Maybe their kitchen and bartenders had a rough day that day. Outside of that it's beautiful inside and again great customer service. Because of ambiance MORE solid dishes than not, and great customer service this place gets 4 stars.

The chips were fresh, guac was ok, salsa 100% bland. No heat, no cilantro or other flavors. Luckily that's exactly what my husband likes, lol. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Flatbread. It was a huge thing. There were WAY too many raw, red onions all over it. They were chopped into little bits, so it was very difficult and messy trying to pick them off. The proportions were totally off. Way too much BBQ chicken, hardly any cheese. The Angus Burger with Cheese, tho! It was the most disgusting burger we ever tasted. It seriously tasted like TV dinner Salisbury steak, totally overcooked, dry, yet greasy. My husband hardly ever throws food away, but the thing could not be salvaged at home in any way. The prices are ridiculous for the quality of food. The waitress was nice in a completely generic, robotic way. She simply said, "I'm sorry you didn't like it." We were too tired to put up a fuss and just wanted to get out of there. Do yourselves a favor. Drive or get an Uber to a restaurant on Tuttle Crossing. Any of them. Even McDonald's.

I requested to be seated in the middle section & was told the tables needed to be cleared off first. Took 10+ minutes and someone else got seated there before us. Anyways, Arnold Palmer was very bitter. Whatever you have in mind for deviled eggs is not what you will need tasting when you try these. It had an odd smell and tasted under seasoned. Would not order again. The wontons I give a 3/5. Not my favorite. The mushrooms weren't over powering but still interesting. This could have also used more seasoning. Outer layer was crispy. If you don't like sauces, ask for your sauce on the side because they pour it on your wontons for you. The empanadas seasoned well. Stuffed well too. Would order again. Then we ordered the flank steak medium. We received well done and it took more than 15+ minutes for the waitress to come to our table to check on us in order for us to send it back to get medium. Other than that, plantains were cooked well, the rice and beans were good. Presentation was beautiful. The restaurant was not busy at all. There were many empty tables and seats at the bar. Music isn't too loud to have conversations. Considering how much I spent on these meals and drinks, I would not return again.

The downstairs was closed when we arrived (Monday evening). Both the downstairs and the upstairs are very spacious with the downstairs having a large bar too. For appetizers we had a beautiful charcuterie board with a great selection of meats, cheeses, fruit, olives, artichokes, hummus and Gluten Free crackers and crostinis that were delicious!! You wouldn't have even known they were gluten free. Also had bacon wrapped dates and baked feta bites. The bacon wrapped dates were so good! For dinner we had chicken piccata, mahi, veggies, strawberry spinach salad, scalloped potatoes and a spaghetti squash dish that was vegetarian and vegan. Very clear signs on allergies that is much appreciated! Dessert we had flourless chocolate cake, mini cheesecakes, and one of my favorites - buckeyes! The space we had was great - mingling area for appetizers, buffet of food in the center of the room that separated the appetizer area and the seated dinner part. Plenty of room. Having a few more high top tables would have been great in the mingling area as holding your beverage and enjoying appetizers can be tricky with no table. Believe we had 40-50 people. I didn't get to take any photos, but a great space for what we needed - lots of windows and lights upstairs as well.

The Club is within easy walking distance of my house, and not only would I love to be able to head over often for a nice meal, but the better they do, the better the neighborhood will do. So imaging my disappointment when we tried The Club's restaurant again, only to be let down by a boring menu, unenthusiastic staff, and a cold and uninviting environment. The Golf Club of Dublin has been operated by several companies since we moved here, and every time new management takes over they "revamp" and rename the restaurant. We always give them a try, but we have never been impressed. Our most recent visit was no exception. My wife and I walked over on a Saturday night in November. It was raining, so I understand that business from the course would be lacking. That said, we were the only two people in the entire place. It wasn't even 8:00, but you could tell that all the staff wanted to do was close early and leave. The atmosphere was ruined by the fact that every light in the place was turned on so that they could clean, and they made no effort to adjust for paying customers. The barmaid was polite but obviously annoyed that we had shown up, and the rest of the staff of seemingly unoccupied young men were hanging out in the bar area talking way too loud and horsing around. The menu is nothing special but not lacking in variety - typical pub food. The ruben that I had was bland and chewy, and my wife's burger was average at best. The fries were greasy, and everything seemed just a little less than clean - the glasses were cloudy, and the bar was sticky. Overall the food was okay for a public golf course snack bar, but to call this a nice restaurant is a stretch in my opinion...and that's the biggest shame of all. The clubhouse itself is a nice facility, and the customers are right here. Ballantrae has over 1100 single family units (and growing), and the average home price here is north of half-a-million. Each new owner/operator has marketed the place as something that it's not, but something that the neighborhood would welcome. I sincerely hope that my experience was atypical and just a symptom of a slow night.
