Firstly, I wanted to say, I have been to many a Starbucks over the years and have never ONCE witnessed as many rude CUSTOMER-incited interactions as I have at this location. It seems every time I'm there to get my morning coffee, a new CUSTOMER at this Starbucks is looking to pick a fight with the 20-year-old behind the counter-- who, NOT ONLY has to do their job and then some, but ALSO has to act as a virtual punching bag for a raging middle-ager (and I say this as a raging middle-ager myself !!!!!). As a frequent customer myself, I've sat in this Starbucks' lobby and sorted through emails day in and day out. While doing so, I have witnessed customers practically STEAL / LIE their way into free (or additional) beverages, berate baristas for no good reason, and enforce a dangerous social dynamic: which is that customer service workers are "second class citizens" compared to the people they serve. ONE DAY I was going through this store's drive thru, intending to leave a tip (as I always do) and noticed that they didn't have their tip jar out. When I asked the young lady at the window why that was, she very politely explained that they were having issues with customers STEALING their tip jar, and thus had to keep it inside...... REALLY guys??? How low can we possibly get?! I say to all my fellow impassioned Starbucks-goers in this comment section: DO BETTER. Who are we if all it takes for us to lose our humanity is a coffee that's just a HAIR too sweet?? Who are we if all it takes for us to traumatize a teenager are cake pops being out?? Or not enough chocolate drizzle on our ice cream??? Shame on us all. I applaud these workers. If I could rate this establishment higher than five stars I would. I placed a mobile pick-up order for a tall iced coffee with the pumpkin cream cold foam. The app said it was ready and there were a lot of drinks on the counter, but I didn't see mine. I had to get in line and ask the barista. They said they had it marked as picked up so they had to make it right then. Not sure if someone else grabbed my drink or if they never actually made it in the first time. Once I got my drink, it tasted great and I was happy with the cold foam. Stopped by here because I need my caffeine fix!! I got a butter croissant and the pesto sandwich. I went to the restroom and when I came out, I had seen what might be my stuff, but didn't bother to look. This Starbucks was so fast, I didn't even realize my stuff was already waiting for me! Starbucks (Corporate) has changed the recipe for Chai Tea Latte's. For over 15 years I gave RELIGIOUSLY purchased 4 Venti xtra hot lattes/week. I will NEVER order another Chai Tea from Starbucks. Baristas have TRIED to replicate the original recipe but are unable.. My barista was nearly in tears as she fields numerous long term customer complaints/day from angry customers. Said corporate doesn't care. I suspect a year from now when corporate runs their international numbers they will find a dramatic decrease in demand for this once lovely drink. read more

Starbucks 8738 S Emerald Dr Ste 101, Tempe AZ 85284 June 19, 2021 Saturday - 10:45 AM  for a drink 2 Adults Atmosphere - 5 starts Drink - 5 stars Service - 4 stars Background - My Keurig died during our move.  So I had no coffee this morning.  My wife saw Starbucks on the way to Ikea.  Normally we would hit a local place but I am not familiar with the area after just moving to the area. Atmosphere - Classic Starbucks with the deep wood tones and a long counter.  Tables are spaced for COVID distancing Drink - My wife convinced me on going here by telling me I could order just black coffee.  My taste for coffee has changed a lot over the years.  I have learned the mochas at SBX are way too sweet for me.  After walking in my wife found the Nitro Cold Brew ad next to the menu boards, and that sold me.  I love Nitro for a creamy stout beer, and a good cold coffee.  My wife had the other one list on the ad, nitro cold brew with vanilla sweet cream, not too sweet for a single sip by me.  Then she found more combos online.  I think I found my new drink at SBX.  Perfect for the heat here too. Service - The cashier had a mask on and was behind the plexiglass "wall".  I also had a mask on which made hearing each other so much fun.  Being safe is important.  The finish line is almost here.  As we waited for our drinks, names were being called out.  Most were not even here yet.  People just walk in take cups and leave.  What a trusting business. Future - I need to try the Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew, hopefully it is not too sweet.  Just looked online 23 grams for a Grande.  Maybe I will try a Nitro Cold Brew with vanilla sweet cream, only 4 grams of sugar. read more

Slowest Starbucks ever. It's totally empty inside there is one car in front of me and they have taken so far 10 minutes to get an oatmeal. The woman was not even nice. My food was also cold. Not happy. read more

I cannot in good conscious leave my 5 star review without adding the new and true story of how this place treats customers and seemingly on a regular basis. I'm not sure what has happened here in the past weeks but most of it is not good. A few weeks ago I was in the drive thru behind 2 other cars, 15 minutes prior to closing, one car came in behind me. My turn at the speaker and I waited and no one comes on, at this point I drive straight to the pick up window to see what's going on. Apparently, the clock hit 9:00 and they were done. McDonald's I hear, will come out and put a cone behind the last car in line at closing time. Not Starbucks! More like FU, were are closing, regardless of the fact I was in line 15 minutes before closing. My level of pissitivity at this point was pretty high. I called the next day to see what was going on and to let the manager know I thought this was really bad customer service. The manager agreed and apologized. Fast forward to tonight... I'm at the drive thru and I wait more than 5 minutes at the speaker. Crickets...I continue to the pick up window and see a male and a female wiping things, dumping liquids etc...I noticed the car behind me has pulled up but I know his order has not been taken either because the female was right there and she clearly wasn't taking orders. She was obviously ignoring me. Two minutes later the male opens the window and tells me they have decided to close early because they are short staffed. I just looked at him and said "You can't do that" knowing full well they had. Here's the part that set me off internally, he said with a very nonchalant and cavalier attitude... "uh yeah we can and there isn't another one around here that's opened, we're only closing an hour early" I maintained my composure and said nothing. He did tell me to "have a good night" as I drove away. His rudeness and the total FU demeanor is beyond my scope of understanding. How either one of them has a job there is shocking. I guess rudeness and lack of proper communication and work ethic is a thing at this location. #1 Had you called to tell me you were closing an hour early, I would have been there early! #2 I know there isn't another one opened in the area, why do you think I'm here every night? #3 What changed in an hour? read more

This starbucks is a really great place to grab a quick snack or to work or just to relax, the closing crew is really nice and polite. My husband and I always come after 4pm and the staff always make our drinks perfectly in a timely manner, I ordered the lavender oatmilk matcha with cold foam and my husband got a Frappuccino with several ingredients included, the closing staff were so quick and efficient with our order, Taylor took our order at the register and provided many great recommendations, she was very polite and gave a great customer experience. I enjoy coming here and I can't wait for our next visit! read more

I really like this Starbuck location. I was feeling really under the weather this past week and needed some hot tea to soothe my throat. The gentleman working the drivethru took his time to read out all of the tea selections they had one by one and I appreciated that. Sometimes, you feel rushed when you're in the drivethru and there are cars lined up behind you, but he took his time and in that moment I truly appreciated his patience. 8 months since my last review. This location is my favorite location. Do I visit frequently? Yes! I usually visit in the evenings, when things are quiet and not as busy as the morning. Someone working ALWAYS knows my drink. I have gotten accustomed to not having to order. I just pay I really like this location. Everyone is friendly and helpful. 8 months and no mess ups. I am specific on my drink. Never been told nope we can't make it. They will let me know when they do not have the skinny mocha. I know it takes a while to make so I wait. Went in yesterday to get something to eat and some iced coffee and the manger didn't greet me at all he had a headband around his head as if he was coming or going to the gym it looked kind of weird. I didn't catch his name but he look like he was having a bad day so I didn't say too much to him at all also. So whoever the young lady was that was taking my order yesterday they look like they were in a serious relationship I've never seen a couple working together you could just tell that they had something going on under the table. I ordered my food and no one called me to come up to get my food I had to look to make sure it was ready for pickup. I sat there for a good 30 minutes the vibes were okay except for like I said that manager that was there isn't very friendly he had on all black he look like a chef but trust me he wasn't, I think when you're messing with someone at work no matter what field of business it is you should try to keep that secretive. I ordered another breakfast sandwich and still no one advised me that my order was ready as others came into the restaurant or however you want to label starbucks as I couldn't understand why they were called up to get their orders not a big deal I just will never go back and of course I am an African American male and everyone else that were there wasn't. Waited 9 minutes in drive-thru with only two cars in front - which is perfectly fine. However, pull up and the kid at the window doesn't don't murmur one word, with his mask on his chin and just puts the drink on the counter. Not only was it awkward to pull up to a drive-thru window with not greeting, even when I said how's it going, no acknowledgement, no sorry for the wait, no thank you, nothing. Such a great Starbucks!! All of the baristas are friendly, greet you when you come in and really do try their best to meet your needs, offer great recommendations and remember your name. Sometimes the name part makes you wonder if you come too often... but I think it's fun and personable! It tends to get busy in the morning rush but they're always well staffed and even when it's a madhouse, they're always so upbeat with a smile on their face and a thank you at the end of their tongue. So, I pull into this Starbucks this morning to find out they have NO iced tea, none at all! Of course I'm so shocked that a "coffee/tea" house could be out of iced tea I didn't even think of asking for a "hot tea" and a cup of ice! All my focused turned to now being stuck in a long line unable to get out so I had to wait for all the customers in front of me to get their drinks before I could keep heading to work! The "Out of Tea" sign was on the ordering menu, way too late to turn around! No offer of a "free" tea on my next visit for my inconvenience. Obviously, Starbucks has now entered the world of "I don't care about customers!" Where is the Regional Manager who should have provided product to them ASAP! This Starbucks is Is the closest to me so I give it many chances but every time it disappoints!!!not only does the coffee never taste the same as any other location the employees are just not nice and quite frankly No matter How busy or not I'm always waiting excessively for my drink. The icing on the cake was one time I was going through the drive-through through One employee took my card walked off another 1 came up gave me my drink I had full hands and I drove off without ever getting my card back I didn't realize until about 2 hours later that I never got my card back when I contacted the store they told me it was company policy to shredd my card !!!!They contacted my bank and actually canceled my card within 2 hours of me leaving the store !!!!!!! that's the craziest thing I have ever heard it's not like I showed backup a week later that would be understandable it was literally 2 hours later and they said it was company policy, We all know how dreadful it is to cancel a debit card and then have to redo everything But they never even offered any type ofincentive or anything for my inconvenience You expect a lot more from a company of this caliber read more

I come here every day. It's always a great experience through the drive-thru. I decided to go inside today...the location is beautiful inside and has lots of space. However, I did have a problem with my customer service, so I called the store to discuss a complaint. A lovely manager helped me out immediately and offered me a free drink coupon for next time. It was labor day 2021, very busy for stores profit margins were huge. Yet a Starbucks employee cops a sever attitude with me because I asked him to correct me drink portion that he short changed me on. Now I mention the gross part his hands had a open BLOODY wound that I had seen as he snatched the drink to inspect it then walks away in a hissy fit mouthing his temper tantrum. I informed the supervisor but he was defending his employee with absolute loyalty. Beautiful interior and easily accessible drive-thru, but the past three out of four visits my drink has been wrong. I work very close to this location so I've been able to just turn around and go back inside to get it fixed, but it's inconvenient and I've barely received any apology. Today I even heard the barista tell the other barista "Oh yeah, I think that's the wrong drink we handed out"...When you're paying $6+ for a coffee it should be correct the first time. Amazing customer service! I am from Canada so when I went through the drive through yesterday my cards weren't working for some reason. The gentleman at the window was named Gage, he was extremely friendly and had a wonderful smile! He ended up taking care of our order for us because the machines were not working with my card. This Starbucks used to be amazing your customer service skills was always there a bit till about a month ago I don't know what happened I am the lines are extremely extremely long their customer service skills are terrible they always have an attitude and the dreams don't come out with "love ".
