These girls Brielle and tatum provide wonderful service! I'm a regular at this location and they always do an amazing job without fail!!!!

I frequent this specific BR often. It's .9 miles from my office. I used Postmates to order my drink and let me tell you it Was not extra sweet, bitter as hell. Absolutely not with sweet cream either, this drink is as dark as the espresso they used in the drink. I can NEVER get the right drink if I'm in the drive thru or post mates, I have to walk in and complain to get my correct order. I'm pissed. I spend lots of money here for what? Count your days Black rock. read more

The absolute WORST customer service I've ever seen!!! Hands down the most rude, disrespectful and out right entitled employee I've ever encountered! Smashed breakfast and broken lids making a sticky mess.... and apparently there are no managers so they don't need to rectify or even attempt to make the situation right! read more

The coffee is good. The service is nice. It's a black rock... So I really appreciate the consistency and the convenience but there's nothing really special about it besides the location of this one. It's a really great place to bring kids because though it does have a very busy parking lot, there's a lot to do around it and they have a big garage that opens up to an outdoor seating area that my kids love. read more

First of all, I ordered a burrito with the green chili in it. She asked twice what burrito it was. But it turns out to be the turkey sausage. So I decide oh well, cut my loses and still eat it. Until I bite into a freaking piece of glass. What the hell black rock? Seriously? read more

What can I say? As far as coffee chains go, Black Rock Coffee Bar is one of my favorites. I've visited several BR locations, and each time, my experience has been positive. They serve great coffee, delicious treats from Too Sweet Cakes, have reasonable prices, and friendly staff. My go-to is a honey cinnamon oat milk latte. BR consistently makes it just right and this location was no exception. The staff here was also warm and welcoming. The interior is bright, spacious, and offers plenty of seating. It's a good spot for working or studying. Yet another wonderful experience at Black Rock Coffee Bar! read more

My daughter recommended this place because they have sugar free options for their drinks. ( for those of us with the dreaded sugar disease) I got a med hazelnut iced coffee with cream. Not a bad choice if I do say so myself. I don't frequently coffee places that often, so I don't know what I'd compare it to, but it was less expensive than Starbucks and just as good in my humble opinion. Do with that information what you will... read more

I have been on a berry-latte high lately from all the local coffee shops, and when I saw the Strawberry Blondie, I had to visit! I think I hit the tail-end of the morning rush because my wait in the drive-thru was pretty long. The barista at the window was very friendly! Now for the blondie: I like it! It's reminiscent of strawberry milk, but not overly sweet. I hope it's not just a seasonal item! read more

Great modern coffee shop in Gilbert and even better staff... I was in town for the weekend and Black Rock was recommended by a good friend that lives in the area. I got a Caramel Truffle at the suggestion of Christian who works there and I'm glad I listened to him. It was really good. I ordered mine blended just as Christian suggested and I definitely recommend it. Caramel sauce and rich chocolate milk essentially making one of the best caramel mocha blended drinks I've had. Good stuff. Located on Gilbert Road adjacent to a gas station. They also have bagels and pastries. Some non-caffeinated drinks are available as well. There are several tables and some stool seating by the window. Restrooms available via code entry... Decent music is played throughout as well. That's always a nice touch. Drive-thru is available and when we went a 2nd time, Christian was there and he recognized us. Really good customer service from him. He's a natural and we appreciated it. I just got a shaken iced tea on the drive-thru visit. My friend got their caramel blondie (their most popular) and loved it. Until next time... Thanks again Christian! read more

3.5/5 If you get a coffee drink here I probably wouldn't the large sizes. The drinks I had in the large size (White mocha chiller and root beer white mocha chiller) tasted very dilute and while the actual coffee and milk tasted good together it was hard to discern any additional flavor. I did also get a medium sized drink (Blackout) which had a balanced amount of sweetness, hazelnut and mocha flavor, coffee and cream. Service was alright but they did make me the wrong drink from not hearing what I said through the speaker at the drive thru but it was quickly remedied. read more

First time at Black Rock, but I had to check it out as it's so close to me. This new location is super convenient if you're in the McDowell Mountain area of North Scottsdale. The staff were very friendly and chatty similar to Dutch Bros, and they seem genuine unlike the non friendly experience at Starbucks which I rarely frequent anymore. I ordered my usual drink of hot chocolate with almond milk no whip cream that I always order at coffee places. It was good and had an adequate amount of chocolate for flavor. The menu looked interesting with a nice selection of drinks and food offerings. I wish I could have tried some but being a gluten free vegan really limits my food choices. I will go again as it is so convenient! read more

Finally decided to try Black Rock coffee. It's fine. The service and ambiance are about what you expect from a coffee shop. The coffee taste good, it's on the sweet side. The energy drinks though - they are better than most. Recommend an energy drink over a good but basic coffee. read more

I kept passing this spot and decided to swing by after my hike. I wanted JJ but they weren't open yet. I arrived early so the drive-thru was clear and the broista taking my order was welcoming and friendly. I ordered the Mexican mocha (hot cuz I don't like watered down iced drinks) and pulled up to the window to pay. The barista was kind as well and signed me up for their rewards program using my phone number. My order was ready quickly and it tasted good; sweet but not overly so. I'm not a big coffee consumer but I'd come back for a treat. read more

I remember when I lived in Oregon and black rocks started popping up there. When I moved back home, there was only black rock in stores and it was hard to find. I'm happy to see they are in Arizona now after about 3-4 years. One day I went in with some friends and didn't order anything because I had had my own drink with me. It was a canned matcha drink and it ended up being not very good. It was vegan and it had protein in it and I wanted to try it out. The only reason why my drink that DID NOT come from black rock matters in this story is because I went up to the counter to ask if I could possibly have a cup half full of milk. I was willing to pay for it but they just gave it to me. I hoped that I could drown out some of the icky flavor of my drink with the milk. It worked pretty alright. I'm thankful that they were kind enough to do that for me even though I hadn't purchased something. And it was free. They are super cool there. It's a nice place to just chill and smell the coffee. read more

Do you know how you walk in an establishment and you instantly get a good vibe? We instantly got that here! Music was thumping and I wanted to start dancing, even before I ordered coffee, on a Monday morning after a holiday weekend! We were pleasantly greeted at the counter and he guided us through the iced coffee options. Thankfully, they did have large sizes to choose from. We opted for the iced Americano, which totally did it for us. The decor is very tasteful and airy. They have a garage door wall which was open, letting in some fresh air. We are only in Mesa for another week but we have found our new hangout until we leave. :) read more

Man, the afternoon crew here is pretty slow. I love coming here, but rarely do I get to enjoy it in the AM anymore. Used to be pretty quick, and always accurate. I'm sitting here in line waiting, and waiting, and waiting. They aren't running the drive-thru pre-order, so it's taking forever. It's not like this at other near by BR locations. The wife and I love BR, and will still go, but probably not this location at anytime in the afternoon anymore. Not that fun sitting in the drive-thru line, not moving, and being able to get out because there is someone behind you. This review is 100% about this location, at Southern Ave and Gilbert Rd. Horrible afternoon experience. read more

Extremely poor customer service. We walked in, stood at the counter to not be greeted by the 2 females and male standing at the drive through playing on their phone. They looked up at use then Kept on talking like we were not worth the sale. As a sales professional myself, my clients are the most important part of my business. Clearly this place thinks differently. I left without placing an order because I refuse to give my money to companies who have such poor service. read more

Just another "meh" coffee place. First time trying it and I made sure to say that too. I went out of my way to go there, even though there was road work out front on the main road. It looks like a cool place but most all of the food was sold out (about noon when I went). The coffee isn't too bad, I got an iced Mexican Mocha. But for going my first time, it's enough lackluster available items and average customer service that will make me avoid it in the future. The person who served me at the drive-thru seemed uninterested in customer service or even working there. If you want to stand out, it can't just be with good coffee. There are thousands of coffee places these days. You have to bring something unique to the table with a good buying experience (like awesome customer service). And if you find you sell out of items before the earlier part of the day, buy more stock! Overall, pass on this and get your coffee elsewhere. read more

Seen a few of these coffee shops around the Arizona location, so of course I needed to try one. The blonde girl working the drive thru was just the absolute sweetest. I didn't catch her name but I appreciate her generosity, and when she found out it was my birthday I received my coffee complimentary! It became my only item I got free, and we went out to breakfast & dinner at places. She recommended the iced caramel blondie. I initially was worried it was going to be too sweet, but it was just right. Not too sweet, not too bitter, perfect blend and I could still taste the coffee and flavoring. That is how you make a great iced coffee! I do like to be a little fancy and add whipped cream or drizzle so if I had the chance, maybe next time I'll ask ahead of time if they could do that. If not it's no worries, the coffee (and service) were both great. read more

Love the drive thru, great service, and great flavors! I came in yesterday after I was intending to go to Starbucks but realized all of the ones in the area were not drive thrus and I'm trying to limit my exposure to others if it's not necessary. I was picking up for a couple of friends in my quarantine circle and they told me to order red eyes which I had absolutely no idea what they were and if that was a Starbucks specific drink as I don't drink coffee. The girl taking my order was super helpful in explaining what I was ordering for them and my friends were extremely happy with what they got. My order is considerably easier, just an almond milk chai latte, and Black Rock did a great job of it. I would happily come back! read more

Good morning crew, slow in afternoon and always out of something. Being GF the only real food you offer that I can eat is the banana bread and I think it's out literally half the time I'm here. I'm not sure why it's so hard for this location to stay stocked! Only writing this because I just waited in like for 15 minutes behind two cars with my infant fussing in the back to find out you're out - again. read more

I've been a fan of Black Rock Coffee for years, but I've never been to this location. I ordered a matcha for the first time at a Black Rock, and I think I'll just stick with coffee next time! The matcha latte didn't have its distinguished taste that it usually does, it was also far too milky and sweet that I barely tasted the matcha. The baristas were very kind and quick to make my drink. However, I can't help but notice that they were maybe short staffed? The two of them seemed strained when making the orders and were rushing around the place to get every order completed. The counters in the work area (the other side of the cash register) were quite untidy with dirty utensils, cloths, items, etc. laid out everywhere. They were also walking around lots of puddles, it almost seemed like there was some sort of a huge leak or spill. The cleanliness was my main concern. I hope they're able to find more staff to help maintain that! read more

First time trying this place and I had high expectations for all the good me and my girlfriend have heard about their coffee . This is for the location at Power and Ray. I generally really like them, however, the past two visits have been disappointing. Last week, I ordered the new Irish cream and coconut chiller with almond milk. It really didn't have any flavor and it was $1.00 more for the almond milk! Today, my drink was good, however, there was only one car in front of me and I was in line for 20 minutes. Also, I have noticed the staff isn't as friendly as they used to be.
