This was our first visit to a Black Rock. We stopped by to try their coffee and to also buy a bag of whole beans for our espresso machine. We ordered an Iced Irish Coffee and an Iced Caramel Blondie blended. Our coffees were delicious, and the service was even better! Our barista was so friendly and attentive! We will definitely be back! read more

Stopped by to get a couple of Iced Matcha Lattes after a Trader Joe's run. Looked at the menu which had lots of coffee drinks & some teas & found it. Ended up ordering with the helpful male employee at the cash register who asked if we wanted to add Lavender syrup, cream foam, etc. but we wanted them simple with just Almond Milk & Oat Milk. He submitted the order & the barista in the back said he only had enough Matcha for only one drink so I let my friend order hers since she was the one craving a Matcha drink. When it came out the Medium-sized drink was so pale yellow looking & tasted only Almond Milk so the employee at the register said she could get a refund if she didn't want another drink. My friend got a refund as she was disappointed. He said he could just take the drink as they'd just throw it out. He offered iced Green Tea but that wasn't the same. We walked out surprised they didn't supply the store on a Friday & that it was only 2pm? They said they were waiting for a truck delivery to restock. Nice employee customer service, decor & upbeat ambiance, though. 4-stars for service &ambiance. read more

A modern shop right in the middle of Gilbert. Gives some Dutch Bros vibes, with energy drinks and sweetened coffee aplenty, but staff are friendly and efficient. Will come again! read more

I was recommended that their Pumpkin Spice Latte was good here (better than starbies) So I took my basic a$$ down to try it out lol And actually, yes, super enjoyable and yummy. A good balance of coffee and flavor, not sweet! (Over sweetness and syrup make me sad) I got a small, iced 2% milk, which was plenty. I was just confused because I thought it would come with whip cream from the description (it didn't) but that's okay. I also got the coffee cake and that was super yummy. Excellent flavor, soft, and moist. (Spent 10ish$) It was 9 on a Thursday Am, I was hoping to use the drive-through, but there were at least seven cars in there so I went inside. There was no one ahead of me and my order was ready in five minutes or less . (I did not do order ahead) The person taking my order was kind and approachable. Things looked clean. Seating seems so so. Lots of hard wooden chairs. One big comfy looking sofa tho. Parking is easy and should be enough For the PSL and cake I'll be back and recommend. read more

For starters, the people here were very polite and respectful towards customers. I ordered a shaken espresso, bacon Gouda and a blueberry scone. There wasn't much flavor nothing great about the coffee, I've had plain shaken espressos at other coffee shops and it tastes much better than this one. My bacon Gouda was cold in the middle still, but I was already driving, so I just ate it all. My blueberry scone tasted like it needed to be baked longer, I couldn't taste any blueberry flavor, it just tasted like batter. Not a great experience. I won't return to this location read more

Ooh man, I never have experienced BR staff this bad before. I went to order and asked about an additional add on to the drink I ordered. When I denied that add-on, I overheard the worker calling me a "cheap-ass". When I got to the window, you could tell they were both laughing and making fun of me and other customers. As I pulled away, the guy with the very long hair and a band tee said "I hate these customers". Don't work in a customer service job if you're going to be so rude, long haired man. read more

I stopped by this location because it's close to my kids' school. The moment you walk in, the staff greets you with friendly smiles, immediately asking how your day is going and offering you a drink. I ordered the chocolate chip chiller, which was delicious--just the right amount of sweetness, which is a big plus for me. Black Rock Coffee's interior design is always unique, with each location having its own special vibe. If you're looking for a quiet spot to work or hold a small meeting, this location is ideal--it's less busy and perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying some "me" time. read more

This is such a wonderful alternative than what's on every corner lots popular spot. First time I tried Black Rock I was impressed. This visit, I had the Blended Caramel Chiller & my husband had the Mocha Chiller Both were great. There are many good selection of drinks to choose from. Absolutely love their fall selections! Wish it was year round. Additionally, there's both premium and classic coffee beverages, and they even have some coffeeless alternatives such as smoothie and chai chillers. Oh, and keep in mind to try out their juices and warm cocoa! There are a few food items available as well like donut holes, bagels & breakfast burritos. BR even offers a decaf medium roast and a sweet medium roast substitute. Many aren't aware that BR has a charity option to buy coffee to help fund community water projects in developing countries. What a wonderful thing! The staff is always on point and the service is fairly quick for how busy they get. Plenty of tables and seating to catch up on conversations, work or school assignments. *Note- Black Rock Coffee Bar has a secret menu of energy drinks. Well, now it's not a secret! LOL Highly recommend you ask about it when you go. read more

Really cute and open on the inside . Friendly service and plenty of seating and parking . It's in a shopping center with lots around to eat and do . I like the ease of the drive through. Service was good. Three stars for that. No stars for the iced matcha. I really didn't like my iced matcha. It was kinda minty and chalky. Very unappealing to me. I drank about 1/4 of it and dumped it. I drink so many matcha drinks, and this one was subpar. Might go back for a coffee someday, but not in any hurry. read more

Black Rock has quickly become one of my favorites. In fact, I've been to a handful of BR locations and haven't had a bad experience. Solid coffee. Yummy snacks. Excellent staff. Reasonable prices. My go-to is a honey cinnamon oat milk latte. They are very consistent and always make it how I like it. The staff at the window is super warm, friendly, and always makes good conversation. They make me feel like they genuinely care when they ask how my day is going. I always leave with a smile! read more

I LOove coffee in many forms - iced, blended, cold brewed, hot, even tepid after it's been sitting on my desk too long. I can have 3-4 cups a day! While visiting Gilbert this sunny, but breezy afternoon, I was in the mood for cold & flavored. The happy, helpful & super friendly young man behind the counter asked me a few questions about my taste/ preferences, then recommended the caramel blondie. Thankfully it wasn't sickeningly sweet... just a hint of sweetness, where I could still taste the coffee. Mmm, perfection. Great recommendation, Christian! My friend got shaken iced tea, which he guzzled in no time, so I have no doubt he loved it. The hubbs got the traditional americano & my boy was spoiled with a big iced chocolate milk... thank goodness they added ice, or it would've warmed up fast in the AZ heat! Chill, fun atmosphere with a friendly crew behind the counter. read more

Good coffee, but they always seem to be out of large straws. It's fine if you don't order extra large drinks, but for us that do - please stock straws. It's been two years and only twice have there been large straws. Maybe a small complaint, but we're paying about $10 for your coffee. Thankfully a new Gilbert location is opening this week. Been coming to this location almost every four days maybe three days out of the week some days are great other days aren't so great. I normally put in pick up order is because at that time. I am on my way to work, but why make a pick up order if I'm going to have to wait 10 minutes more Before to get my drink after the pick up time I would think it wouldn't being a pick up order, it will be ready and this time they didn't even have my name on it so they didn't know what my order was I seen then grab it & put it back in the fridge why wasn't my name on it c? . I'm starting to like other locations the one on Queen Creek and the one on Higley I would expect barista to be welcoming as soon as they see a person walk in the store on pick up instead of paying attention to one customer fully, the girl working at the cash register today was inconsiderate . She was wearing a brown shirt , Hispanic & could've said hey ma'am, do you have a pick up order I'll be with you shortly. She did not , she gave full attention to the other woman . I work in healthcare. Patient care should be almost like customer care. Treat me as if I'm your patients who wants to come back I would like to give five stars to the employee who worked there she's an African-American girl and she told me that they didn't have any sour so she honestly just refunded me and said it's on hopefully this was OK. I'm not trying to get her in trouble, but I just wanted to thank her that read more

After shopping for vinyls near by my kids and I decided to stop for some coffee and energy drink. We decided to hit the drive thru and stay in our cozy air conditioned car. I was pleased to see no one in the drive thru. We ordered a couple iced caramel Blondies one with chocolate drizzle and extra caramel as well as a watermelon blue raspberry fuel. The employee who helped us was friendly and we had our drinks quickly. Everything tasted great and we were on our way. Outside parking lot is great size, plenty of space and well kept. read more

Been going to this location forever, there's been little mess ups here and there with drinks but that's forgivable. However yesterday went to this location specifically went through the drive thru, ordered got to the window the girl took our card and didn't give it back. Noticed 5 minutes later and returned and asked for the card and they claimed they didn't have it. Today we look and there was a new charge for this location that we didn't make. Very disappointing and frustrating that they didn't just give the card back and instead used it for themselves. Never coming back. read more

Today this location opened with $2 medium drinks. The drive Thur was 25 cars deep. Inside there was no line. This is a standard BRC. If you dig their vibe, you'll love it. There was a snafu with the cold brew machine & I'm not sure how you break a cold brew "machine" but the iced Americano wasn't bad at all. It's two blocks from the house. I'll be back soon. Probably today. :) read more

I used to go here a lot because it had good coffee. I left the state. Came back, almost being 2 years gone and the people that work here is still awesome but the quality of the drinks have severely gone down. I order normally tea or cold brew. And they are watering down the drinks. Just got a cold brew a few minutes ago and it taste like water. Garbage drink. I asked about them watering down drinks. The admitted some But not all. She didnt offer to replace what I had. I threw it away in the store. Not going to a black rock anymore. They Lost money. read more

This is my favorite coffee in the area. Pastries are okay. But the coffee! I usually get their cold brew with some cream and flavor, but their Italian soda also rocks. My husband likes the blended drinks. They do run on the sweeter side if you get flavoring but they'll adjust it however you need. Nothing seems to be off limits.
