The baristas here were efficient and I got my latte with a smile. Sure, I came a little after lunch time, which is not really a busy time, but most of the seats here were full. I needed a place to charge up my laptop and get some work done and this was a good place to do that and have some caffeine before heading to the airport. Its a high volume traffic location. Located in a large shopping center. It's next to my gym so I like to stop in for coffee for the convenience. I was denied buying my coffee first off Bc I only had large bills. I come back to order and the baristas are all Brand new even the supervisor struggled to make a pour over coffee lol. This place has been open after moving from the other side of the same shopping plaza for what, over a year now? The WiFi has been unusable ever since. Whenever I walk into this store I have to turn off my phone's WiFi to use cellular data just to use their app to pay for my order. If I use their WiFi, my balance won't update. Not sure what everyone does here on their laptops, when I tried, I couldn't load any websites. The layout is odd, leading to awkward queueing. When you walk in, you hit the end of the bar first, then the register. The refrigerated case is beyond that. Virtually all other Starbucks have you queue in front of the refrigerated case, so you can see the pastries and/or pick up a yogurt while in line. Here, you have a cluster of people standing around unintentionally cutting each other. The baristas don't seem to pay much attention to this. Generally Starbucks are pretty consistent and reliable with their cafe amenities, but this one I avoid. read more

If there is something like my favorite Starbucks, it must be this one. Nicely located in the Cherry Orchard strip mall, this is a fairly new store with super high ceilings and a large seating area. Queue management is pretty efficient and the staff that works there usually gets the drinks right. If the chairs and tables and bar stools are taken you can also sit outside on one of the benches or at the tables. What's not to like? This Starbucks is located in the Cherry Orchard Shopping Center, which is often very busy and it can be tough to nab a parking space. My advice is to park on the side of the building facing Mathilda Ave. I like this location fine, it has very high ceilings and large windows that let in a lot of natural light. There is also a faux fireplace. It is usually very busy here and can be tough to grab a table. A couple of big chairs are also inside. The line can be very long (Especially around the morning commuting hours) and move slow, plus you can have to wait awhile for your drink, which is annoying if you're in a hurry. They need to step it up and get people in & out faster. Most of the employees are friendly. Overall, depending on which side of town I'm headed to, this is one of the Starbucks locations I go to. read more

I've been to quite a few Starbucks locations and never considered leaving a Yelp review until I came across this one. I've been coming here quite often over the last couple weeks/months after moving to Sunnyvale as it is only 5mins away. I truly admire the consistency of excellent customer service every time I come here -- my in-person/mobile orders are always done on time and the baristas always greet me even if I only come to pick up a mobile order. They also have a nice little outdoor seating area, which I think may be a great spot to catch up with a friend or to get some work done :) read more

The baristas at this location are rude as hell, which is a shame considering it's the most accessible Reserve store to me. I've been in here twice and each time I asked for limited edition merchandise (Christmas/reserve beans) they would just say "nah, we don't have it" and start to talk amongst themselves. After that, they completely ignored me, didn't ask me if I wanted anything else, and didn't say anything when I thanked them for their help. Good place for its coffee. But, that is about it for this location. It is a very good location to have coffee and work on your laptop either very early in the day or in the evening. However, it is absolutely terrible during the rest of the day. I understand that most people have their independent business and use this particular location as their office away from home, because of the very fast internet speed. There are a few of the folks who come in and sit down without buying anything. So, not cool! Please buy something before sitting down. Otherwise, you are what I would call "a computer hog." I was studying and then a bunch of police dudes, like 5, came in to remove a homeless dude. The homeless dude was minding his own business, it was a cold day and Starbucks should have some empathy. The police were so dramatic and were wearing like vests all for one little old homeless dude. Then they sat outside for like half an hour and I felt awkward walking out to my nice car to drive to my nice warm home. It felt like I was bragging and that made me feel sad. The location is also right where cars turn in from the streets, and the cars are mean and don't let people cross. The bathrooms suck. There are no mirrors, and I need to look in a mirror to validate my existence so the lack of a mirror causes me to spiral a bit. They have these weird fancy water/soap/air dispensers and they are always out of soap. What is the point of spending money on that if it doesn't work and you just use a regular poor people soap dispenser. The hand dryer is way too powerful. I guess the lack of soap makes the dryer extra powerful or something it's stupid either way. The powerful air makes the water in the sink get on your clothes. And then there's no mirrors to see how bad the damage is. Maybe that's why they took down the mirrors, so you can't see all the water on your shirt. There are two gender neutral bathrooms instead of regular ones, so the seat is always up and there probably pee on the ground because apparently it's impossible to aim you're penis at the toilet or something. About the food, they give you pastries in these crinkly packages and it feels like a cheap school lunch. I hate school, so this association ruins my day. They are also always out of the good pastries and sandwiches, so you get these gross boring pastries in a stupid bag. The store has no room, it's always packed and a single person with there ugly adult backpacks take up the entire big tables all for themselves. There's like 2 big tables, which single idiots take up, and the rest are these super tiny tables with like 4 chairs. 4 people can't fit at these tables, you look stupid trying to squish around. Last, the drinks taste different then at other Starbucks, so when I order something I'm not even getting it I'm getting some random remix instead. read more

I can say this is the nicest Starbucks I've been too. Very spacious, clean, huge, tall ceilings. As I'm writing this I noticed on the side view the other reviews say this is one of the nicest Starbucks they've been too. It is a consensus then! The baristas were polite and quick. Order came out fast and drink was perfect. I like the condiment bar, or whatever you call it (where you get your sugars and milk). It was a multi-counter, allowing more than just one person to get their extras, which is really really really convenient. I like that there was plenty of seating inside and out. Want to love this location because it's so conveniently located and has lots of seating for working, but I repeatedly have bad service here. For example, one day I ordered a coffee on my lunch break, got all the way back to work and took a sip, and they had forgotten to add the espresso. It was just steamed milk. I drove back to this location and told the Barista and he didn't even apologize. He added the shots to the drink I brought back in, and handed it to me without a word. Uhh... ok. No sorry that you just wasted your whole lunch break and gas because I screwed up you drink? Thanks, dude. At two other Starbucks locations on Mary they have offered me free drinks coupons if it just took too long to make without me even asking. This particular location is especially lacking in customer service. The people at the register often do not smile and seem irritated frequently. I've been here a number of times and the bad customer experiences are very unusual compared to any other Starbucks locations I visit. This is the closest Starbucks I have to work, but honestly, I prefer to take the long way to work just to stop at a different Starbucks. Every time I place an order through their app, they alway manage to get my order wrong, or their employees get lazy. Since I ordered through the app, it's too time-consuming to complain about my order. I LOVE their refresher, and their employees always get lazy even if their not busy. Instead of shaken refresher, I get a poured into serving cup drink. Or they forget to add lemonade to my drinks. Sometimes, I have to go back to my order just to make sure I didn't make a mistake when I placed the order. By the time I realize the drinks are made wrong is when I give it to my coworkers, and they try it drink. It's frustrating, and I can't enjoy my own drink because I 1 or 2 drinks made wrong and don't have time to go back and have them remade. We I do catch them I get the rolling eyes or "what is wrong with it exactly." I am truly disappointed with this Starbucks. This store is pretty big but since it's very appealing, they get a lot of clients. Every single morning, weekday or weekend, there is a line inside the store. It gets so long, I normally would wait until it gets less busy because I have this fear they might mess up my java when they're hurried. This has to be my to-go-to Starbucks after dropping off my high schooler and before dropping off my junior high schooler. Staff here is alright, but there's this one lady barista who looks like she's rather be doing something else. She gives you this look "Uggggghhhh, do I really have to make coffee for you?" and she looks like she has no clue. If I knew what her name was, I'd say it here but how often do you ask what your baristas name is anyway? She is a plump brunette who is normally there between 7am onwards. She hasn't really been rude to me or nasty but seeing her disgruntled facial expression so early in the morning kinda makes me want to ask someone else to make my coffee. Minus a star for that. Seating inside the store is pretty good - if you're lucky to get one. They have couches and tables and chairs. The seating at Homestead and Wolfe is better but this store can compete. So when you run out of seats indoors, you might want to settle for outdoors. It's not that bad at all unless it's raining or if it's the middle of winter./ Best about this Starbucks is that it's so cozy and the ceilings are just pretty high, it looks like a chandelier should be hanging from there. The second star was going to be deducted from the lack of seating in this store but then I decided that really isn't true. This store just is pretty schmancy and therefore gets a lot of clients. Starburkkkssss. 1. This is a large Starbucks, however, I have come here in the morning and every single seat was full. No joke. They have a long table--that is very picnic bench like. You feel like you are sitting pretty close to people and they have to scooch by to get to their seats. There are also tables and a couple of comfy chairs. Nonethless, it is crowded here. People seem to settle in and not leave for a while. There are always people having a friendly chat and lots of laptops. There are also a couple of tables outside. 2. This parking lot is pretty bad. It will be WAY worse when the Trader Joe's moves in. I can usually a find a spot on the side by the apartment complex (on the other side away from Pasta Pomodoro). But, the parking lot is busy with people constantly coming and going. 3. The baristas here seem to generally be pretty quick, but not as friendly as other locations I have been to. (Again, generalization. I am sure there is one barista who is the nicest person on the planet, but I am just speaking from several experiences.) This started out so well, but ended poorly. We had a big event today and somehow the coffee order was overlooked. Calling a closer Starbucks which didn't answer after 4 calls, I called this one and was pleased when they said they could do 5 travel coffees plus one hot water. They said it'd be ready in 30 minutes. So far, so good. I arrive and pay my bill. I can see the six travel boxes near the delivery area along with the coffee service bags. I walk over and wait. And wait. And wait. The barista is ignoring me. Finally, the cashier comes over and gives me two of the travel boxes. I thank him and say I'll be right back for the others. I come back. I see another barista. I ask if I may have my travel boxes. I whip out the receipt and say "Here's the proof I paid for these." She looks at me and walks into the back. I'm getting more irritated. She hands me two. I ask her to please put the other two on the counter and I'll be right back. I get those and the coffee service bags. When I get to our event, guess what? Spacious and quiet Starbucks in a very good location, plenty of desks and plugs to mount and connect laptops. Most of the time, there are many people there but it is easy to find a place to sit (1-3 minutes wait time). Don't be shy to share a desk with the others. I've been to a lot of Starbucks locations in my time but none more appalling than a situation I witnessed at this location and the behavior of the employees before, during, and after the event. An old lady had fallen down here and as a result, the paramedics had to be called to come to her aid. What did the employees do? Well, nothing actually. In fact, they did less than nothing and told the customers attending to her to not worry about her. It was the other patrons in the shop who called 911 and comforted her while the paramedics rushed over. All the while, the baristas were laughing and chatting it up with each other while stuffing their faces with cake. Not to mention that several of the people behind the counter weren't even wearing Starbucks uniforms but were moving about in back. One girl even talked about taking her top off and running around the store in her bra. The only employee that seemed to have her stuff together was the girl chasing after the paramedics with the clipboard, trying to document the situation. Besides her, the rest of the 4 or 5 people behind the counter were pretty useless. Honestly, I've never seen such a sad state of a popular Starbucks location. The other complaints about the baristas are totally justified and coming here is a totally unpleasant experience. It's dirtier than other locations too but there are at least a bunch of dog-friendly tables outside. Nonetheless, there really are no standards at this location and it's high time they fire everybody here and hire a brand new staff. It's a zoo in there and the handlers have all gone off to bed. Starbucks is usually pretty consistent; it's in a building with some tables and chairs inside and out, and they make coffee. Once in awhile, you find one that is super nice and blows you away. But then you also find ones that just blow your mind with how bad they are. This one is of the latter sort. My panini was barely lukewarm when I got it, my latte was too, and I won't even go into the seating other than "good luck." (Parking is just as bad.) This is the Starbucks that's closest to my work, so I sometimes visit if I need a mid-day pick-me-up. I've been here MANY times, but I noticed that they renovated before my most recent visit. I like the new decor, and it looks clean and warm; however, they replaced many small tables with one long table. While strangers can share the long table, it makes the space feel less intimate. There's still plenty of room to add more small tables, but for some reason, they didn't do that. This Starbucks tends to get extremely busy, especially during peak hours, so if you're looking to spend time here with your book or laptop, you may have to circle like a vulture around the tables and swoop in once it looks like someone is leaving. The baristas are friendly enough, though the line can get long, and sometimes it takes longer than I would want for them to prepare my drink. "experience" where the drink didn't satisfy me. i ordered a hot grande apple chai, (apple juice infused with chai tea - its almost like apple cider and somewhat sweet) when the barista wanted to get my order started. he looked at me confused when i said "grande hot apple chai" as if he didn't know what it was.. then he said "apple juice infused into chai tea?" i responded, "yeah.." second story, my bf tagged along with me, and he usually gets that "ice vanilla latte with restretto (sp?)" and they stared at him too...and they suggested something with cinnamon dolce something with whip. sooooooo....yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (looks away) apparently they don't get enough "variety" in this area. everyone just orders a tall coffee or whatever is on the menu, like if it was their first time at starbucks. my drink didn't taste that well.. something was off balance and i ended up tossing it, but the cinnamon one was pretty good. the whip was unnecessary, but it tasted like CinnamonBuns in a drink, but it wasn't that sweet. the restretto balanced it out :) read more
