Great spot to stop and enjoy a cup of coffee with the sun streaming in the west side (I think that's west)--Grand Avenue side of the store. The store is on the east side of Grand. There's a decent size parking lot here and a decent size interior. There's a drive-thru if you are in a hurry. If you park so that you have to walk in front of the drive-thru, just be prepared to watch out as the cars come out of that area! I'm really enjoying the blonde espresso right now, so my Americano is rather hard to mess up, just as long as it's warm enough, which it was. Lots of options of taking a break here: comfy chairs, some interesting cushiony benches with small tables, tall tables, etc. Definitely places for people who need to study and those of us who are just hanging out enjoying a book or someone else's company. Regulars were greeted by name (I'm not a regular at this Starbucks, but it was convenient at the time).

Frustrated that this drink is basically all ice. I've only had 4 small sips. I think they need to not put so much ice in these drinks. Kind of a waste of money.

Slowness is a tradition here. I've never waited 10min for a cup of cappuccino my whole life haha.

The bacon gouda breakfast sandwich is terrible. Can't believe I would rather have an egg McMuffin at McDonalds and for less money! ICK!

Experience/Service: the place is cute cute cute! The service was top-notch, friendly, and genuine. Food: wow! A bakery this truly is. I had the opportunity to try several types of scones and some sort of almond roll and it was all delicious. I especially loved the lemon-blueberry scone and I normally don't even like lemon. If I had been in town more than 2 days I would have gone more. Price: normally I don't mention this because prices are in the eye of the beholder. But compared to my native SoCal the prices here were $1-2 less per drink. A latte and a huge home-baked scone for $10? Wouldn't happen elsewhere. So bravo for keeping prices reasonable. Loved visiting Spokane and this was a key part of my experience in the South Hill.

Foolishly, I stayed. Ordered two Italian sodas and some water. Both Italian sodas with no cream, yes whip. That's all. I had the receipt. Very clearly marked. Got the Italian sodas back. One had whip and no cream (correct). One had whip and cream added (incorrect). I told the attendant that the first soda was fine, but the second was not what I ordered. Screw-up 1. Hey, we're human, it happens. She took them back and went to redo. I thought she'd just redo the wrong one. Nope! She brought me two new Italian sodas. Neither had cream. Neither had whip. Screw-up 2. On BOTH, even though I specified that the first soda was fine. At this point I'm not only irritated, but concerned over the person & dog in the rapidly-warming car. Attendant offers to remake them all over again. Why? She'll just screw them up again. I took what was in front of me (not what I paid for) and left. Several screw-ups, delays, and essentially a minor rip-off. I won't make the mistake of going here & overpaying for screw-ups again, and I suggest you do the same.

#1 coffee in Spokane FOR SURE. I mean that so seriously. In…read morethe past two years I have tried several well recommended spokane cafes that were all great, tasty, and slightly more expensive than I would like. Hatch beaker + burr transcends all of these. I never expected that I would find one of the best lattes I've ever tasted in Spokane of all places after being a Portland/Seattle coffee elitist. The seasonal dulce de leche iced latte was so strong in the best way and brought me back to life with how flavorful it was. Seven dollars even and worth every penny. You can see in the attached photos that I really tried to get every drop of the drink. It was so good that I got another latte to go (cardamom), also so so good. Everything else: cute space with lots of plants and two tables (but other seating available in the commons), barista who is clearly very knowledgeable about every part of the coffee and actually likes making the drinks. Really nice service and you get updated on your drink even when it's busy which is nice, I've never had that in other cafes. I really can't reiterate how amazing this coffee was. Must try if you have not, and if you have you definitely already know.

I just prefer something sweeter and smooth. Rosemary Staccato: 3.5/5

(Unfortunately I literally live on the other side of the country, so before my trip to Spokane ended I made it a point to stop by Atticus multiple times.) The gift shop portion of the store stocks what feels like a little bit of everything. Books, stickers, soaps, lotions, trinkets, home decor, t-shirts, art, books, cards, chocolates...and that's just what I remember! And then the coffee shop portion has a surprisingly large menu. I'm used to coffee shops in stores being more like small coffee stands; but nope, this operation feels like a fully stocked coffee shop. Plus they also serve tea, matcha, and smoothies...and breakfast sandwiches, AND pastries. As you might imagine: this all makes the store smell quite good! There aren't a ton of seats but when I visited with family, we managed to find a couple tables so we could enjoy our drinks and snacks sitting down. Their coffee is very, very tasty - I tried both hot and iced lattes during my multiple visits. I didn't have tea on-site but I did buy some of their blends to brew at home, and they are also very, very tasty. Unfortunately they don't do online sales, and since I was traveling I didn't have the space to pack up everything I wanted to take home with me. Maybe future me will have the chance to come back...in the meantime, I hope you lucky locals appreciate this place as much as I did!

My daughter had the kids spaghetti with chicken added, and she confidently declared it the best spaghetti she's ever had... so there! Overall, a great experience with standout service and tasty food. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu before giving that fifth star.
