Ok...many folk give Starbucks a bad rap. The believey Starbucks is 'too expensive'. Not so---a 10oz cup of coffee in my reusable cup is $2.65. Modernized stores dial in the size; grid the beans for THAT cup of coffee and brew it instantly. You also have a choice of bean blends ranging from light to dark roasts. Other local franchises are ok, but you're looking at $4 or more for the same size coffee. ' Drink coffee, do stuff' ONLY has dark roasts. Hub uses pumper jugs so you never know how long your coffee has been sitting. Starbucks identity issues are they can't seem to decide who is valued more---the person sitting in their vehicle at the drive thru or the person at the counter. I prefer going into their shop and drinking my coffee there while reading the paper... read more

Is it because I am a zombie every morning when starting my day without coffee? Or is it because I have a routine? Run in and out getting coffee, then get right into my "Yelping." Quality/Quantity - Where are all my pictures? Again, is it because of the above? Going to try on my next visit, probably tomorrow 3/23/24 to take and upload some pictures. Atmosphere - Convenient location. Especially since I shop at this center often, probably too often. Cool decor. Drive thru available. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 5am or 5:30am to 7pm or 8pm. Service - Good. Price - My usual cup of tall pike. I use the app and don't really look (again see above), so I am guessing almost $3 a cup. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1971 and for being the largest coffeehouse chain in the world! #114 on the Fortune 500 list. As of 2021, 33,833+ stores, and 15,444 of them are in the US. 1992 IPO. 2003 Acquired Seattle's Best Coffee. 2008 Loyalty card program. 2020 Generous programs to employees due to COVID. Closed all stores except drive thru and delivery. Paid for 30 days whether employees went to work or stayed home. Gave employees free daily meals and drinks whether they were working or not. I've been here a few times, walking in and drive through. Every time they have been fast and efficient. I get my order quickly and the service is great. It is a quaint location with just a few indoor tables and some outdoor tables. Equals always great. I'll be back again. read more

My frustration is that many local Reno Starbucks are out of coffee while the baristas think it's normal. This Starbucks had no iced coffee, the Meadowood Mall no longer has brewed coffe, pour over only and forget salads in Reno. Told the barista at the first Starbucks that they were going to get a poor review and seemed like no sweat to her. read more

When did Starbucks become so slow? This has become my local Starbucks and I am In here almost once a week lately for meetings. It's large, modern and spacious inside, with lots of work areas to choose from, but it's constantly busy, so chances of snagging one depends on when you arrive. With the volume they seem to have at all times of the day, they never seem to be adequately staffed to handle it. The line is 5-10 customers deep at the register inside and my experience is they only have one register running. The staff is always buzzing about behind the counter preparing drinks that are all seemingly for the drive through and keeping the operation going. If you're sticking around though, there's always a long wait for drinks. Today my drink was all sorts of wrong too, which hasn't happened before. I ordered a nitro cold brew and it arrived as an iced cold brew. You can't put ice in a nitro drink because it takes all the nitro goodness out. All in all this Starbucks just doesn't have it going on. I've become used to it though and accepted this as the standard at this location. read more

They always greet us in the morning and tell us to have a good day which is nice. On our way to work. I live closest to this Starbucks and my gym is also in the vicinity. I run miles and miles around South Reno and before I typically walk home, I usually stop in and ask for a large ice water. They get it for me without a problem and they're always so nice. It's free, tasty, clear, cold water. Dunkin' Donuts once asked me for 50 cents, pshh. Bucks is where it's at. read more

Terrible Customer Service, ran out of cups, and forgot drinks, and shop was very dirty. Older lady taking my order had a attitude problem.

I have to downgrade them as a result of the past few years of service. The drive thru has substantially slowed down. The past few visits, scattered across an assortment of times, have all resulted in extended wait times. When the lines are long outside i'm happy to get out of the car and go inside. Even inside seems to have taken quite awhile. The priority seems to go to the drive thru, though when you are in the drive thru it doesn't seem like that. A recent order was requested with "no whip" and delivered to me with whipped cream on top. That easily doubled my wait time since I asked them to remake it. I will give it an upgrade for last nights purchase. The wait time seemed far longer than the usual extended wait. When I drove up to the window to pay my drink was handed to me and the employee said "No charge since it took 17 minutes." Thank you for this freebie but I have sat for just as long before with no change in billing and usually an incorrectly made beverage. I am sure these are a result of the surge in people in the area as of late but they should be adapting for that staffing wise. I tend to chose another location or another chain as a result of these issues. read more

This has to be the slowest Starbucks I've ever been to. Don't have much else to say other than that if there are any cars in the drive thru you can expect it to take at least 10-15 minutes to get through. On this particular visit, there were 6 cars in the drive thru and it took 17 minutes from the time I pulled into the drive thru until The time I got my coffee. Absolute slowest Starbucks in Reno. Baristas are nice enough, but completely incompetent. 50% of the time I come to this Steamboat location (multiple times a week) they get my order wrong. It's correct on the label (drink), but they never read the label and make it the way they want. So frustrating. Half the time there's an off-work barista in there just hanging out and talking to 2-3 working baristas, even when the place is crowded and there's a line. Mobile orders always take precedent here too. In-store customers wait forever for the most simple orders that should normally take 30 seconds. Have had to wait 5-10 minutes for an iced coffee as they take their time filling all the mobile orders. Worst Starbucks in Reno. read more

The workers seem like they hate their job. I also stood by the pick up drink station for a few minutes and made eye contact with multiple workers, none of which asked if I needed help. I had to go and ask the cashier, who also made eye contact with me. Both of my orders were also wrong. I ordered an oatmeal, I did not receive any of the toppings. They always welcome me by name in the morning and ask me How my day is going. The service is fast and friendly, which is great when I only have a 15 minute break to grab my coffee. I'm sorry if I'm paying for the size I expect it to be full... like you could splash a little more milk or ice in it because I feel ripped off when I order and my drink is never full! I just moved to the area and today was my 2nd day (Sat & Sun) going to this Starbucks. Both days the workers seemed frazzled, with very little direction. Some were just standing waiting for direction while the counters were covered with major spills and a mess. Others were running around nearly missing each other with beverages in their hands. There is zero communication, especially when they messed up my order and the girl who was remaking was told to go on break and just left in the middle making my coffee and it got thrown out because the other girl didn't know what it was. Funny thing is she came back and tried to speak to Girl 2 but was cut off and told to just go take her break. Good thing I was watching and was able to let the 2nd girl know that she threw out my drink. Each day I had to wait for 10 min for my food and drink order. There are spills all over the place and today it just seemed like a bunch of teenagers running the place with no management. Good thing there is another Starbucks near work because I would not be able to come to this one during the work week. read more
