I have popped in a few times for a latte on a cold morning. My work van is too tall to go through the drive through at most places so I found a parking spot and mosied on up to the window to order. I was greeted with a 'Good Morning' and a smile. My usual order is a vanilla latte. Simple, yet not too sweet. This was made just right. There are a few outdoor tables to sit and enjoy your drink if you have some time in your day to slow down and savor the experience. I am beginning to prefer the smaller coffee shops and huts. There is so much more personal interaction compared to the big green coffee shop. I think that supporting the smaller local shops helps keep our community going. read more

I ordered a matcha with cold foam and the drink was made with half of the cold foam so I couldn't taste the matcha. My husband said his coffee tasted burned or off. I tried a new location but I guess that was my mistake. I feel like I wasted $8 for it. Go to the one on Longley instead. They make consistently great drinks there. read more

Remarkably poor experience! The young woman who assisted me clearly wasn't paying attention, couldn't crack a smile and was on autopilot. I asked for an Americano and got a drip coffee which was awful coffee. I registered as I drove off, should have gone back but did not want to interact with that barista again. The employee named Emily working yesterday between 5-6pm was very rude and no customer service at all. She came to the window after less than 30 seconds of us looking at the menu... She asked us what we want... and I told her that we are still looking at the menu because we are debating if we want to get hot or cold drinks. And our eyes caught us few drinks to try. She asked us and since we were not ready yet... She rolled her eyes at me. And keeps on saying excuse me!!! and removed the earbuds/headset on her ears and walked away. I'm angry as hell the virus prohibits me from going in for sit down, WiFi, fellowship and the like. What was that? .... they are a drive through only? Never mind. Sorry friends but it's pretty uneventful. It's like a DB for serious coffee drinkers or the Starbucks drive-though. Some great selections and flavours. Maybe 9-10 house specialty drinks, 9-10 classics and 4-5 espressos. The beauty part is they are bi-lingual. You can speak in another coffee house language, they translate it to Human Bean for you. That's exactly what my hopelessly-stuck-in-the-twentieth-century keister needs. They did a swell job of quickly getting me through and were oh so polite. Went here with my three kids after visiting Sierra Sewing Center just across the way and had a blast. We ordered our dirt cheap kid sized fruit smoothies(made with fruit puree) that came in fun kids cups. Kids had green apple and I had blueberry pomegranate. They were both delicious and refreshing. I used to buy my smoothies at Starbucks but they discontinued them. I'm glad they did because these smoothies are much more fun and much more cheap. The walk up window made ordering fun and the employees are always nice. This visit, the two workers- Rachel and Kenzie- were so nice and played along with my two little rascals and their shenanigans. They really brightened up our day. On a separate visit I've tried their mochas and specialty drinks and they are worth checking out. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You'll save money, get your fix and will leave with a smile. Don't forget to ask for a stamp card and fyi, each drink comes with a chocolate covered coffee bean. How awesome is that. They serve breakfast sandwiches and other treats as well and adjacent to their tables you will find a grassy shaded area next to their drive through that can be fun to hang around. read more

Super glad I decided to give this place another try. Everyone deserves a second chance! My husband, son & I came here on my husband's birthday to get drinks & celebrate! This second time around was a night & day difference. Lauren was the best! She made my husband & I the most tasty frappes we've EVER had. No joke! Lauren was so friendly & genuinely kind. Lauren was also very patient, she let me finish my entire order before making my drinks. We asked for 6 pumps of espresso in each of our frappes, to get super caffeinated! First time at The Human Bean! Lady was very helpful when I asked for comparisons to my usual go-to's that I get other franchised coffee places (so great service!). Per her recommendation, I tried the snowy pumpkin latte. While it did not disappoint, I didn't find it to be anything really special. I find this to be a coffee spot that "gets the job done" but not like a "you gotta go out of your way and try this place!" type of joint. read more

My favorite part of getting a coffee here, is receiving the chocolate covered espresso bean placed on the lid of your coffee. What a nice start to your caffeinated liquid treat! The coffee is pretty good too. I tried the eggnog Chai latte (seasonal) and the dirty chai latte and enjoyed both, especially the eggnog chai. Unfortunately, it's only a seasonal drink. The concept of this coffee shop is grab and go. There is a walk up window if you prefer, but most people go through the drive thru. The free standing building is quite small, like the size of a small trailer. Inside is strictly for employee use, so if you aren't driving thru you are sitting in your car in the lot or outside near the walk up window. On a warm day, that may not be a bad idea, but right now it's too cold. The young folk at the counter are pretty pleasant, one nice young gentleman even telling me about his recent engagement while I waited for my coffee. Which turns out pretty quick. The menu has a variety of other drinks as well, such as slushies and energy drinks, so even if you don't drink coffee, you could find a nice caffeinated beverage to try. read more

New coffee drinker here. Never really got into it until I visited this Dutch Bros. The staff are AMAZING!!!!! They patiently explain the processes and products. I told them the flavors I like and make amazing recommendations! I have become a daily visitor for a White Sugar free Cocomo on ice (7g of carbs!! Based on the recommendations of the staff. If you love coffee then this place is a must try. This is my favorite coffee spot in town, and I like it more than Dutch bros, as I find the coffee flavors here to be more authentic. They also give out a free coffee bean covered with white chocolate, along with the coffee which is great. I have ended up buying an entire box of those beans, so I find them irresistible. The place is definitely meant more for drive through, one thing I noticed is that they did not have a garbage can/disposal nearby and I had to find a place further off to dispose of the empty cup. I don't get coffee as much as I used to and I won't lie, Starbucks is nice for the preorder factor, but the coffee can suck at times, being burnt most often. I like to support smaller shops, but its not always feasible to find parking and run in to some of my local haunts. This is where the Human Bean comes in for me, its still a chain with franchise operations, but they are my favorites for that type of coffee shop. I am not a fan of the Double D place (overated). Human Bean has an app to pay which rewards you, often I get free $1 off, or more preloaded on the app. The employees are always friendly, they employ both guys and girls, they don't scream at you over extremely loud music (looking at you Dunkin). They offer chocolate covered coffee beans. Yea, I generally stop at Human Bean when looking for a splurge or treat of coffee anymore, sometimes I get a smoothie too. read more

Drive thru coffee? Some of my favorite words all mashed together to form a tantalizing offer. This is right down the street from my pharmacy so when I head to get my prescriptions I always want to stop by and grab a warm beverage - especially on a chilly day! This last visit the wifey wanted a Mexi Hot Chocolate and I was undecided as I approached the drive thru. I checked into my Yelp app and up popped an offer for a Snowy Carmel Mocha! I don't like chocolate so the Mocha had me a bit worried. I asked for the details on the beverage when I arrived at the window. It was described as a carmel coffee drink with a touch of white chocolate. Since white chocolate doesn't excite me but doesn't repel me, I opted to try it. I went with a double which was the perfect caffeine for me since it was late in the day. Wow oh wow. I only tasted carmel and a nice creamy flavoring. I didn't get chocolate - white or otherwise - which was great for me. If you are seeking a chocolate flavored coffee, this is not for you however. The bonus chocolate covered coffee bean is great too. I get a quick bite of coffee while I wait to take a sip of my beverage. When I run out, I always drop by to at least grab a bag of chocolate covered beans. Those are delightful splurges when i'm craving some caffeine and some sugar! read more

If you need an extra tasty pep in your step, I would suggest you stop by. This cute little drive thru coffee shop has an easy to read menu, a great variety and the coffee is delicious. I got the Chocolate Mac Breve and it was creamy, not to sweet and deff gave me a solid pick me up! The service was super fast and I got through the drive through in 5 minutes. The chocolate covered bean is also delicious, with a nice thick chocolate shell. Self-proclaimed coffee snob here! Reno is starting to become a really awesome destination for downright good coffee. Be it a latte at Bibo or cold brew at Hub, there is no shortage of delicious caffeine fixes. However, when it comes to drinks on the sweeter side - a mexican mocha, say, or fresh fruit smoothie - Human Bean absolutely hits the nail on the head. This is one of those drivethru or walk-up only joints. There are a couple of tables outside, but it's mainly a get-your-stuff-and-go place. You would never guess it by the service, though! The girls working here are always super friendly and will likely recognize you after just one visit. They're great about special requests (i.e. kids cup for my daughter so she doesn't dump smoothie all over the backseat) and will happily chat it up with me while I'm waiting for our drinks. The prices are pretty reasonable and they do a buy 10, get 1 free punchcard, which makes them an excellent Starbucks alternative if you are tired of corporate coffee. As for drinks, their Irish Cream Breve is a favorite of mine, whether hot, iced, or blended. Not too sweet, but creamy and delicious nonetheless. I also think they have some of the best fruit smoothies in town, and their Java Chip Granita is pretty amazing as well (granitas are like frappuccinos, but better!) Their namesake is a chocolate-covered espresso bean that they put on top of every beverage. It's delicious and a welcome little addition each time I come through here! Human Bean has been an awesome option on the south side of town for a while now. We just need one in the Northwest and I'll be a happy panda! read more

I found my go-to coffee shop in Reno! Came here for coffee after brunch at the Wet Hen and it was so good! I ordered the Bob Marley and my husband had coffee with milk. I'm not 100% sure what the Bob Marley is but I think it's something along the lines of a mocha with a shot of banana. I've never had anything like it. It's so yummy! My husband took one sip of my coffee and was disappointed in his plain coffee. We ended up sharing mine because it's that good! The guy who helped was super friendly and cheerful. He told us that we were there during happy hour so coffee was only $3! Yay! I love deals! They were fast making the coffees which was nice so we could take it to our drive to Tahoe. Besides ordering at the stand, they have 2 drive-thru windows so if you're in your car you can remain there while they make your coffee. I highly recommend the Human Bean! This was the first time I ever had coffee from the human bean coffee shop. First of all the coffee was outstanding a lot better than other coffee shops. The staff was is very friendly and helpful and even put up with my smart ass attitude so when I asked to sample the coffee they had no problem giving me coffee to sample.
