What a great port in the storm. This place is AMAZING! Although it is a Starbucks, it has WAY MORE options; like--what I am having today-- an Apple Pie Latte! They have great soft serve ice cream sundaes and for those persons who want it, ice cream and coffees with libations!

This VERY NICE coffee shop is tucked in the back of the Gold Ranch Casino, to the left rear near the bathrooms. Excellent coffee and customer service. Staff is very friendly and efficient, and makes a nice cup of coffee! Seating area is roomy, bright and comfortable with free wifi. There's also a very nice outdoor seating area with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit... wow I'm a fan!!

Prepare to wait a LONG time and if there is more than one in line, move on. They only have ONE employee on premise at a time. She takes your order, goes and makes it, and then comes back to help the next person. What a silly way to do things! Last time I was behind a group of 6 Cal Trans workers and it was about a 40-45 min wait. Person has no sense of urgency either. I thought okay it was a late evening but today Saturday morning, still one person. I get that you want to save on payroll but there is a more efficient way. You need to take all your orders who are standing in line first up to 3 or 4 and THEN make your drinks simultaneously. This back and forth business is a time waster and more likely that you will get customers to walk out. I finally get my regular coffee and go to the condiment station which is dirty. I get it, you have ONE person but the boxes shouldn't be filthy on the bottom. That is from no one ever cleaning them. They get a star for actually serving Starbucks brand but that is it. I think they would shudder at the thought of this location. Oh and because its an independent, they do not take SB cards or give you stars. For the avid SB customer, this is clearly not a SB.

Cute but smoky due to the open doors leading to the attached casino. Serves starbucks coffee. Good but had to get out quick due to smell.

I stopped by this spot for a break from traffic when the 80 was stopped up on a road trip. It's a great spot with pleasant staff with good coffee but the smell of smoke is so strong it gave me a headache. I don't know if it came in from the neighboring casino (doors wide open into the Casino) or if people actually smoke inside (Nevada so it might be legal...not sure as I'm a CA girl and we don't allow that here). When I first walked up no one greeted me. The manager was busy training someone new and I was getting a bit irritated and finally they took my order, the gal who did take my order and made the coffee was wonderful, it would have been nice if the other two would have helped her instead of hyper-focusing on their training tasks and leaving her to fend for herself. Good quick stop but plan on drinking your coffee outside if your are averse to cigarette smoke where you drink/eat.

Very relaxing place and never to crowded. Indoor and outdoor seating with a small firepit outside and beautiful view of the mountains. Its one of those Starbucks express places, but they also have 99 cents Ice Cream which is great for kids. No complaints and no reason for less than a 5 Star.

Evening staff made our beverages a bit on the weak side. The morning staff made our beverages perfectly. We had a bit of a wait on both occasions but nothing annoying. There is no smoking in the coffee bar but smoke does filter in from the Casino. There is a nice seating area and if you're at the campground, it could not be any closer. We will certainly stop again when we return to the campground. Nice having a great coffee place so close.

Great staff - good selection of Starbucks coffee, espresso and refreshers. But it does not take Starbucks cards.

When I am heading from Reno to Truckee or beyond, it is a goos spot to refill or grab a last minute mocha.

From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated as if we were inconveniencing them by asking for a table. We were totally agreeable and ok with a table or the bar. After about 10 minutes, we were directed to the bar where there was one seat for two of us and the gal with the green shirt that was from somewhere in South Carolina promised to get us another stool. We went to where we were shown to go. Another couple at the bar mentioned someone had taken the stool that belonged where we were. We ordered two drinks, Jameson on the rocks and a Grey Goose or Tito's Lemondrop. $14 for the lemondrop that couldn't have had a shot of vodka in it. I'm not sure it had any in it because it tasted like lemon juice and Cointreau. The single shot of Jameson on the rocks was $12.25. There were 3 local guys who appeared to be finishing up on the other side of the couple next to us that were standing and leaning on empty stools. I asked them if we could have one of the stools and one of the guys jokingly told me not to yell at him. We laughed and he said he was leaving anyway, but the bartender told him not to give us the stool. The bartender brought us our drinks and we patiently waited for a stool, but decided if we finished our drinks and hadn't received menus or a stool that we'd find a different spot. The food smelled good and the few people eating seemed to be enjoying it. After a bit longer we were asked if we wanted to move to a table when one came open. We should have said yes, but we were trying to be easy and agreeable as they seemed overwhelmed, even though there were two empty dirty tables and the three spots at the bar where the local guys were bullshitting and leaning on the back of the empty stools, so we said we would stay at the bar. We still had not been offered menus or the 2nd stool we were told was coming. After another short while, a couple at the end of the bar left and the bartender asked us if we wanted to move into those spots. We moved and ordered another Jameson on the rocks. We found a menu that another patron had left and decided we would order if asked before we finished our cocktails. The bartender gave us the 2nd Jameson on the rocks, but never asked us if we wanted to order even though she knew we came for dinner. We finished our drinks and asked the lady in the green shirt with South Carolina on it if we could have our bill because we had already been there more than 50 minutes while feeling like we may have never been asked what we wanted to eat. We finally got our bill of $38.50 for a terrible lemondrop and two shots of Jameson on the rocks. We left hangry and irritated that we never got to taste the food we were smelling. I've heard good things and had a nice Mother's Day there last year, but I won't go back unless I'm with a recognized local as they seemed to be the only patrons receiving food. Obviously, by the length of this review, that I'm very disappointed and hope the staff will take into account how they made good paying patrons feel. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time. If management cares enough to check the receipts, we were there 4/17/26 and left between 6:30 and 7pm.

We decided to stop at Donner Ski Ranch for lunch because there would be plenty of parking. I'm not sure what was communicated to the hostess as the front of the group entered, but we weren't seated together. Everyone was split up between the outside and inside tables. The waitress had no problem splitting the check for us and the two other Datsun owners at our table. The menu tends toward fried foods. I ordered the "Gourmet Grilled Cheese" sandwich. What a disappointment. It was barely cooked, the cheese was one slice of cheddar and one slice of Swiss. Not melted at all. A couple of chunks of avocado and two slices of tomato (one on each half) made up the "Gourmet" aspect, I guess. I ordered fries as my side. The fries were a generous portion but very very salty. My husband's DSR Burger was OK, per his evaluation. He too ordered the fries, and while he generally likes salty foods, he too found the fries too salty. The bathrooms are in dire need of repair. The toilets worked but the paper holders were hanging open because the duct tape used to close them had worn out. The sink facets were loose. At least the bathroom appeared clean. As a meeting place for a group on a long ride, this place was sufficient, but I'll not be returning here on my own.
