Absolutely love this hidden gem! Not my first time here but grabbed a breakfast burrito (YUM!), muffin and iced latte this morning. The portion for the burrito was outstanding! It was loaded with what tasted like fresh potatoes, spinach and veggies and loved that it was NOT drowning in cheese. I personally thanked the chef as it was probably one of the best breakfast burritos I have eaten in a long time. Not sure where the cranberry orange muffin came from and my vanilla latte with oat milk both were perfect. The young ladies who work the front are so friendly and welcoming. Very , very nice staff. And I really love the somewhat hidden way location with the (small) but welcoming front patio . Absolutely worth the drive or stop by if you are in Verdi. My only "disappointment" is that they do have fairly limited hours - even on the weekend. read more

We stopped by on our bike ride for a quick pick me up. We ordered an almond sugar free vanilla iced latte and almond milk Black Forest iced latte. The sugar free vanilla latte is was meh, got the job done. I don't expect spectacular when I order that drink. The Black Forest has some real potential if ordered with regular milk and hot. We also ordered a danish which was warmed up and delicious. The staff were super friendly. I would likely say it took a touch bit too long but it was nice to rest our legs. We sat outside. There is a bike rack. Would I come back again, yes. Would I go out of my way to stop by, hmm probs not. read more

Quaint restaurant with great food and friendly service! Stopped in for breakfast with a group of 5. Portions were large, and prices were very affordable. We had the outlaw and regular breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, potatoes and eggs, and both iced and hot coffee. The coffee was great, burritos large and easily shareable. Place is small but has some indoor tables (max 3-4 people at tables) but also picnic tables Outside for more seating options. Staff were attentive and friendly. The New Outlaw in town does not disappoint in its service level, vast array of barista coffees or menu choices, especially for an on-the-go breakfast you can park-it and eat right outside under trees beside your pup. The new owners are warm, approachable and dedicated to service wearing as many hats as are possible in a small restaurant/rustic coffee spot. The food, service and ambiance are delicious, inviting and increasingly rusty, dusty and sometimes Verdi. The Wild West makes no apologies. Rich with character and history, not to mention great food, Outlaw Coffee is truly a hidden gem. A classic "mom & pop" diner, Outlaw is run by a husband and wife team. While our cycling group kinda over-ran their normal capacity, the service was fast, friendly and welcoming. I don't normally comment about the coffee but since this is a Coffee Shop / Cafe, I thought I would. I'm not sure what it is but their basic black coffee was delicious. I believe they serve Blind Dog. I don' know the specific blend, but it was oddly delicious. I ordered "The Original" but wrapped as a breakfast burrito. Pretty standard fare of bacon, potatoes, eggs and cheese, wrapped in a tortilla. What made this special was the execution and preparation. The burrito was flavorful and moist (no dry burritos here!). The tortilla was grilled a bit, giving it a nice snap when you bit in. Love these truly local gems read more

I swung by here on a Saturday morning on my way up to Lake Tahoe! It's a really cute cafe, small on the inside with only a few tables but there's a large dog-friendly patio outside with much more seating. I ordered at the counter since I was just getting a coffee and takeout order. They have tons of specialty latte flavors, my favorite! I went with the iced Sierra latte which is caramel, english toffee, and vanilla. It came out very light in color (lots of milk and sugar I'm assuming) which I was fine with since I'm more of a creamer than coffee girl anyway. It tasted really good with this combination of flavors! The drink came out quickly but my takeout order of 1 breakfast sandwich took about 30 mins. I didn't really mind since I was outside enjoying the patio with my dog. I got the breakfast sandwich with bacon, cheddar cheese, and egg on a croissant. You're able to customize it with different bread, meat, and cheese options which I liked. The croissant itself was buttery and flaky. However, it felt like there was not enough of any of the toppings on the inside part of the sandwich. It specifically could have used more egg and bacon (see my photo of the cross-section). It tasted good but left me still feeling a little hungry. They do have some breakfast plates, burritos, and scrambles that I'll have to try next time to get something more filling. Outlaw Coffe is surprise gem on Old 40. Stopped by for a cappuccino around lunchtime on a Saturday, and it was perfectly made -- just hit the spot. Ordered a grilled veggie sandwich, and I think it was the best one I'd ever had. Ingredients: perfectly sauteed peppers, onions, and mushrooms, with fresh spinach, tomato, pesto & provolone. I had it on toasted multi-grain bread, but they are switching it to a wrap. It was perfect. Niece got biscuits and gravy; she said the biscuits were moist and the gravy was home-made and delicious. I'm guessing everything on their menu is similarly made with great care and the freshest ingredients. Skip the fancy coffee houses and get some coffee and sandwiches at Outlaw. read more

We LOVE this place! Their breakfast burritos are beyond delicious so we stop every time we are in town. I wish I knew what spices they used because it's that good. Even their coffee is toasted deliciousness. I had their sf vanilla latte recently and it didn't taste like the chemical grossness of a torani syrup. From the counter to the table all the service was polite and helpful in this delightful coffee house. The inside is cozy but there's a good amount of outdoor seating shaded by trees and umbrellas. I really want to give this place 5 stars. We stumbled on this place because the place we wanted to go wasn't open for some reason (Sunday morning staffing issues?) . I will start with some positives. Folks were super nice. Prices were reasonable. Coffee was good. And my wife really liked her veggie scramble. Unfortunately, it was really cold that morning and there was no heat in the building. We were not comfortable at all. I was also surprised because despite indicating that I had a pepper allergy (bell peppers and chilis), my country scramble was heavily peppered and uncomfortable to eat. My stomach was unhappy the rest of the day. I'm glad that the local community has this place. I'm not sure if it would be on my list to visit. read more
