Gluten-free products have vastly improved over the years, including bread. I purchased some bagels. These bagels were fantastic. They were delicious, freshly cut or toasted. Toasted with some cream cheese and everything bagel seasoning. The breads, dinner rolls, and bagels were limited. Probably due to the time of year and time of day. They were out of cinnamon rolls. I guess I'll have to get some freezer ones to try. There are tables and chairs here where you can eat some soup, a sandwich, a sweet, or a savory item. They offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, quiches, chicken pot pie, salads, and sides. They also offer teas and coffees. This store is out of the way for me. read more

Still love this place! The owner Crystal is a hard working mother and a queen when it comes to business! She's a rockstar. I love the cakes here and I occasionally come in a get some random goodies for me and my family. The cookies are soft and they don't taste any different than having the gluten in them. My husband has a gluten allergy or might have an allergy so it's nice to know I can go right down the street to grab gluten free options. I know some of my friends are going to be excited about the sparks location since they live in sparks. I haven't been inside for a while but I noticed they added more stuff inside to sit and they have baked breads also with some drinks and a various amount of sweets, like muffins, cheesecakes, cookies, and pastries. This is a Gluten Free bakery and coffee shop. If you think about it, this may be the healthiest type of diet, especially for individuals who have trouble digesting gluten. Pastries are available and I ordered the sticky bun with walnuts. Gina behind the counter asked me if I wanted it warmed, and I said, "Yes, please!" It was delicious. I was very grateful for her suggestion. The coffee was made with freshly ground beans when I ordered it and served nice and hot. I looked at the items for sale which included, freshly baked loaves of bread and bagels, sandwiches and frozen foods. There is quite a variety of items available. Haven is my go to when I need something Gluten-Free. I love to grab the sandwich bread or even a gluten free pastry. My favorite so far has been the Chicken Pesto on Rosemary Bread. How have I lived in South Reno for almost two years and not been here. I'm not even gluten free (yet) and this place is incredible. Everything made in house with many dairy free options too. I was excited about so much! I've got a sweet tooth and I WILL eventually try all of these desserts for sure. We had the cookie bar and chocolate bombs. Oh. My. GOSH! The cookie bar had clusters of chocolate chip cookies /dough with this AMAZING rich vanilla cream cheese frosting. I didn't think it could get much better until I tried my kids chocolate bomb. Holy SMOKES. It had a mound of chocolate ganache and boy was it smooth and rich. Staff was helpful and told us they have been around a while when I asked. This place is truly a hidden gem! Tucked away in a little corner. It was quiet in there, smaller cafe. I had gotten a sandwich and a vegan donut. The sandwich is awfully small, I wish it was bigger :/ the vegan donut was WAAYY too sweet, it made my back teeth hurt lol!! The ladies in there were nice. I'm not gluten free personally, but I've always enjoyed coming to Haven on Earth. I can obviously tell a bit of a difference in the textures of their bread, but they do a great job with flavor on their sandwiches! When my in laws come to visit we often come here because my MIL is gluten free, and it has been such a relief to have a place to bring here too where she has tons of options. One of my guilty pleasures is getting their cupcakes. They are so delicious and I can't even really tell a difference in texture. They are just good. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Decor isn't anything to write home about necessarily but it's always been tidy and clean. It's a little hidden in South Reno but there's ample parking and it's convenient to get to, so I'd recommend stopping in to try them out! read more

Unfortunately this was my first experience with Haven on Earth and it wasn't good. My husband ordered a birthday cake for me and was charged just over $100 for the smallest cake (6 in). I thought the icing on the cake was sloppy and uneven, especially for the price, but overall I was OK with the look of the cake. The taste however was the most disappointing. I wanted to splurge and have a bakery make my birthday cake solely because I wanted to eat a delicious cake, however the cake Haven on Earth gave to us was the driest cake I've ever had. I'm not a professional cake maker, I've only ever used box cakes you can get for a $1 at the store and unfortunately those tasted better and were super moist even days after! Sadly, I would not recommend the cakes at this bakery. The price does not reflect the quality, which is a shame since the staff was very kind. read more

We moved to Reno last July and discovered Haven on Earth. Best (ambience) bakery, with cozy deli, I have ever found and gluten free to boot. Additionally, my son is vegan and he found the best vegan donuts in the world. We buy our sourdough bread every couple of weeks and it is always delicious. Of course, I always pick up cookies and other pastries which I love. Today I had the opportunity to meet the owner Rita who is quite gracious. Very disappointed with our visit to this cafe. The food was just ok. I ordered the avocado toast and could barely find the avocado. They didn't have any ice. My granddaughter ordered a matcha latte, it was so bad she couldn't drink it. The restroom was unusable. And didn't have the enough employees to get anything done. I ordered the Turkey and Brie sandwich on parmesean focaccia with a little mustard. You honestly can't tell that it's gluten free and it's was delicious. The bread was nice and salty which was perfect with the Brie cheese and apples. I intended to eat half and save the other half for later but I ended up eating the whole thing. It even comes with a free mini gluten free chocolate chip cookie! The flight was really good too! They let you choose 4 flavors from several menus, so there is plenty to choose from. You can get your flight all hot or all iced and the same milk for all 4. There was so much to choose from that I had to get the employee's recommendation for the last one. Sadly the pizza was terrible, sauce was bland and crust was more like bread than crust. We wanted to love this place as my husband has celiac. However, we won't be going back. The doughnuts were good, but more like cake with frosting. Sadly, we bought two doughnuts for $5 and they were placed n a tiny bag on top of each other, so the frosting was a mess. The doughnuts were stuck together at $2.50 each, at least bag them in a container that is suitable or individually. We bought a pot pie as well and are skeptical to even bother cooking it. The pizza went into the trash. My husband said "it's the worst pizza I've ever had." Unfortunately, it was more like tomato paste on bad gluten-free bread. My wife went to Haven with her friends today, and brought me back half her sandwich. She wanted to introduce her friends to these two businesses. "Gluten free means without wheat, barley, and rye." Quality/Quantity - My wife got and brought home half of her Pesto & Turkey Panini. It was okay, but I would have preferred some lettuce and fresh tomatoes. And of course, a little more meat would not have hurt. Her friends got the following: Quiche and a different Panini sandwich. She said everyone was happy with their order. Other options available are: salads, baked goods, some grocery choices, drinks, etc. Of course, and a flight of coffee from Rising for the People. Most people order to-go from these two businesses. Never more than two tables of people; my wife being one of the two tables. Atmosphere - Small local business. Plenty of parking in this strip mall. Indoor or outdoor seating. Single unisex bathroom. Open 6 days a week from 8:30am to 4pm. Closed Sundays, I believe the owner's husband is a pastor at a local church. Service - Excellent, as my wife and her friends stayed here for a few hours. Price - $10 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2010 or longer...? What a delicious bakery! The inside is small which makes it perfect for small groups or just coming in and picking up. My husband and I ordered coffee from the Rising for the People Coffee Company and some delicious sandwiches. I ordered the Turkey, apple, Brie, and sunflower seed on rosemary focaccia bread. It was delicious and the perfect sided sandwich. There was an option to add a side and a drink, but I just wanted the sando. I'm trying my best to compare it to other GF items I've had in the past. I really wanted to like this sandwich because it had all of the things I enjoy- Turkey, Brie, Apples, and sunflowers. Yet the bread was so dry, dense, and crumbly that I couldn't enjoy my meal. I ended up taking out the contents and throwing out the bread. It was nice to find a great variety of dessert options to try before ordering for the party. My daughter picked out the strawberry shortcake, vegan strawberry cupcake, and a sweet swirl pastry. We tried split all three with a couple of friends. The strawberry cupcake was our favorite; super moist and nice light frosting. This place is very cool I had a chicken pot pie and a lemon square. It was delicious. There are two businesses in one here. The coolest part about this place is that they have take home items. I can by bread and premade frozen meals like; quiche or cinnamon rolls. They also have items that you can eat right there that they can warm up for you. And a plethora of baked treats. The area is small to sit and eat, so keep that in mind. If you are getting something to go that might be better. I'm definitely going to come back to try more things from their menu. For a bakery focused on gluten-free options I appreciate that they also have vegan options as well. Daily the options vary and the most I've seen at a time is 2-4 with the typical being vanilla or chocolate donuts with maple or chocolate frosting, the "sweet swirl" which is a frosted donut cut in half with cream and strawberry sauce, coffee cake, pineapple upside down cake, and brownies. Occasionally the cookies are vegan too but not as a daily reliable choice. For what they have to offer vegans the quality is amazing and the flavors are rich, although the treats run on the small side each bite is decadent. Their investment in the community makes me want to make more trips in, their social media is always tempting with new treats and specials that are unfortunately typically not vegan friendly, and the service is always hospitable whether from the manager/owners or from other staff read more

I'm always looking for vegan/vegetarian places to try so decided to give this one a go. Right away when I walked in was greeted with a friendly woman behind the counter. I asked what items were vegan and she told me that since it was late morning when I got there most of the vegan items had been sold already. She said that the items are gluten free so if you are gluten intolerant that is nice. I decided to try the lemon vegan donut and was lucky to get the last one for the day. I noticed how pretty and yellow it was and tasted pretty good. It was just a bit on the dry side but like I mentioned, it was later morning when I got there. I ordered a 1/2 sheet cake for my daughter's birthday party (was about $150 after tip.) Frosting and presentation was great but the cake itself was very, very dry. The banana filling that they provide is just that-banana. No banana cream filling, just straight bananas. Very underwhelmed. Also, we had to transport the cake for about a 50 min drive and they gave us a box that did not shut all the way. They didn't have a box large enough for the 1/2 sheet cake. They propped it a certain way but naturally as things shift a little in the car and shake, the box was no longer propped once we got home and the back half of the cake was smooshed. I would expect for a business to charge that much for a cake, to at least have a box that accommodates. Not impressed. read more
