If I had the opportunity I would give this place 10 stars! The owner is a delight, Claudio, he makes you feel like your family! He is very accommodating to your dinner parties needs. He had a couple specials and my friend order not one entree, but two. The Lemon ravioli was one of the specials and the mushroom raviolis is apart of the standard menu which I had as well and they were both absolutely scrumptious!!! We decided to order desert, how can you not? My friend got the Napoleon and it was just creamy and flaky and so flavorful and I got the blueberry cheesecake with real whip cream on the side which melted in my mouth. A couple of my friends got the anti-pasta miso and they let me try the olives and the olives had a sweet but savory flavor. Nothing I've ever had before absolutely amazing olives, the Cheese, the crackers everything was just perfect From my understanding the lamb chops are to die for so I can't wait to take my husband there to try them! So stay tuned. I have never been to the other location on Mayberry but I'm so glad he opened this caffee in Midtown. I went here for dessert one day and wanted to return for dinner - today was the day we made that happen. I came here with my husband and another couple and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We started off with some delicious and very authentic Italian cocktails. The frito misto was probably the best that I've had just because it was lightly battered and included artichokes, which was a fun twist. The ravioli was very unique with the Meyer lemon flavor and our lamb chops were probably the best I've had at a restaurant. The owner is super sweet and we loved hearing about how he sources his ingredients and his Sicilian wife's heritage which inspired the menu. Thoroughly disappointed. I got here at 12:30 on a Friday and they were out of bread. Which left very limited food options. Kinda weird set up in my opinion. I had the Mediterranean tuna salad and it was just ok, kinda bland. Service was ok. I had high hopes and maybe I need to go to the other location but I likely won't be back to this one. I've been wanting to try Dolce Caffè's newest location in Midtown, since they opened. I went expecting it to look like the other one, but it actually has a look of it's own, with Black and White pictures on the wall, a more Vintage Vibe and a full Bar. They offer traditional Italian baked goods, Pastries, Breakfast, Lunch and a variety of Italian Products for Sale. At first, I felt like it lacked ambiance, but once we ordered and interacted with the friendly staff, I really liked it. I was with my daughter and she had a Ham and Egg Sandwhich that she really liked and a Chai Tea. I had a Mocha and a Ricotta Cookie, which was delicious. We were there for quite some time and it was great. The owner also greeted us and mentioned they offer Charcuterie in the evenings. I love a place where you can get both Wine and Coffee, so I know I'll be coming back soon to try it. read more

Gluten free heaven!! My husband and I are thrilled that there is a new fantastic dinner spot in midtown! We hadn't realized that it had expanded beyond coffee and pastries and wandered in to look at the dinner menu. It wasn't marked GF besides the cookies, but the friendly server let me know that there was gluten free gnocchi that could be done with many of the sauces and that the risotto and entrees were also GF. GF gnocchi are such a treat and were delicious with the amazing red sauce. My husband loved the Wagyu Ravioli (not GF). The owner Claudio was so great helping us select wine that would go with our meal. The Gluten free brownie-cookie and almond cookie were incredible too. Also the value was great overall and for wine by the glass the value was stellar!! We can't wait to go back - what a win for Reno to have this spot! read more

Tucked in midtown is another location of dolce cafe! White walls, dark fixtures, gives it an inviting mood! We decided to drop in after my doctors appointment and it did not disappoint. We were greeted immediately and they still had a few selections of their baked goods in the display case. We were able to snag my husbands favorite, the chocolate filled baked donut with powder sugars on top! My son really loved it and practically ate the whole thing. I ordered their quiche and a hot dirty chai which really hit the spot for a fall morning. I always love when I find little hidden gems throughout Reno. I decided to try this location first. It was a little hard to find though. I was actually surprised at how nice it was inside. It has a full bar as well as serve breakfast. The service was great and prompt. Although I came in to try the pastries of courses. I got the pistachio cookie , espresso cookie and the original cannoli with ricotta. It was very reasonably priced. I wasn't the hugest fan of the espresso cookie and I felt like the pistachio cookie was more like a bar and it was very dense which was nice and dipped in chocolate, but the cannoli was delicious. read more

Dolce has a new Midtown location and it's adorable with all the same wonderful goodies from their NW Reno location! This location has more room than the other one which is really nice. They offer some gluten free baked goods along with their regular baked goods. They are also serving cocktails and are planning to offer dinners in winter. This is listed in Yelp as a bakery- but it is SOOOO much more! When my husband, Jeff, and I moved to Reno back in 1990 we were introduced to a restaurant named Rivoli. It quickly became our "go-to" restaurant, not only because the food was amazing, but because the people there became like family. It closed in 1998. We have spent over 20 years trying to find a replacement. Dolce Caffe is the only place that has shown promise. Claudio and his team have created something very special, something that feels like home. The menu is limited, giving each dish the attention it deserves. The wine list is incredible- full of affordable treasures that only someone with a passion for both people and the complete dining experience would take the time to cultivate. I have food sensitivities, US gluten and seed oils. They import their pastas and flour from Italy; I've had no issues with it at all. They have a fun assortment of GF cookies (this is where the bakery comes in). Their baked goods are worth the trip alone. Olive oil is used in the house dressing and sauces. Last night we had the special raviolis- it was the most incredible flavor combination- I won't try to explain it because I wouldn't do it justice, but we begged him to put it on the regular menu. If they don't- there are plenty other options that are just as good, namely the wagyu ravioli. We also got the filet which was perfectly cooked and so tender. We began our meal with the Salad Verde w/gorgonzola- need I say more? Claudio expertly paired each course with the perfect wine from regions that were very new to us.
