$5 for two packs. They expire in 2 weeks but that's a great deal!
    Sabrina B.

The entire experience of shopping at this outlet was odd. The parking lot is large but the space are small so immediately I felt quite cramped attempting to park my car. I walked in and was surprised at how sparse the offerings were. Entire shelves and tables had only a few items on them. It wasn't dirty but it just looked unkept and highly disorganized. My entire mission was to find Peanut Butter Tastykake's. There was a small selection awaiting me immediately at the front entry table. They expired the same day. Now going into an outlet you have to keep in mind expiration dates will be fairly near but not the SAME day i'm shopping. I kept wandering and found full boxes of Peanut Butter Tastkake's that had a further out expiration date. I grabbed one box and noticed they were 2/$5. Sold. I'll take two boxes. I found a few other flavors I had never tried before and decided to grab those also. I paid in cash because the person in front of me seemed to encounter issues with the credit card machine. I was also surprised that during my brief shopping trip (less than 10 minutes) the employee never stopped talking, loudly, to someone else about a coworker who wasn't interested in being trained. I appreciate that you need to disucss employee issues.. but not on the floor... and not in front of customers at that volume. When I came home and bit into the Tastykake it was not the Tastykake of my memories. I don't know if they changed the chocolate recipe but the flavor just wasn't there. That is no fault of the outlets however, just a random fact for those seeking a bite of nostalgia or home. I don't need to return. One visit was more than enough for me.

    Great deal!

Wow, I can't believe all of the stuff I got for under $15. At a regular store the Daves killer bread is $6 a loaf. But here the big ones are 3 for $6. They have a bunch of different tastykake and Freshley desserts. Some even are 2/$1. You can always freeze bread if you bag it up properly. Check it out!

Can't lie I'm a creature of habit. Growing up bread was a very big deal in our household. My mom loved it my Grandma loved it it was just a well-loved item. As for myself I could care less about bread. But growing up my grandma used to take me to the "day-old" store. And I mean who doesn't like a bargain when you're going through two loaves of bread a week. I recently stumbled upon this place. What I've learned is there selection varies by the day. So one of the clerks suggested that I should call in to see if they have the bread I'm looking for. It's kind of in a business section so there's nothing really over there for me to do so her suggestion makes sense to me. My bread of choice is Dave's Killer Bread!!! This bread could run out of normal store from $3.99 to $5.99 depending where you shop. They have it at the store for $0.80 a loaf or $2.50 loaf but then again you cannot beat those prices!!

They have these types of pies... childhood memory ahh..

Love this outlet!! Always have the best prices in town and a nice rotation of special items that are 99 cents. We have 5 children so this place is great for us to buy 10 loaves at 1 time since we use so many. 99 cents for the bread in the pictures that I posted, $1.50 for the Pita Bread (really excited about this buy), and $0.99 for Dave's Killer Bread!!! Bagels expired today, which was why they were discounted so much but we will use all of them at 1 sitting so for our family, it's a great deal for cheap!! If you purchase more than $8 in a single transaction, you get to take 1 item from the front roller rack - usually another full loaf of bread- SCORE!!

Just wanted to do a quick review of this place. We were driving to go pick up snacks from another place when we passed by TastyKakes along the way. We have a place like this back home, so I kinda knew they would have packaged pastries and cupcakes inside. So, I decided to turn around and go check it out. And I still went to go get snacks from the other place after because I'm an adult and I don't have to explain myself. So anyway, TastyKakes is kinda like a small bread outlet store with a bunch of other packaged snacks like carrot cake, donuts, chips, etc. (I think I even saw canned tuna).Their loaves of bread are only like 89 cents and as you would guess, their other products are also priced low. The even better thing about this place is, as the very friendly and informative employee Jordan explained to me, are their specials. I mean 89 cents a loaf is already good but, 5 loaves for about $3.89 is even better. She told me about other specials too. The only negatives I have about this place is the products may not be as fresh as your regular store ( the bread I got was still pretty soft though) and I wish they had a location closer to our house. Aloooooha!!!!

Wonder Bread is 99 cents a loaf. That's a good deal. Sadly, there's not much else to bring me here. This is not far from the Oroweat/Entemann's bakery outlet that quietly closed a few months ago, both outlet and bakery. Wonder Bread is good, but the rest of the items don't seem to be on par with Oroweat. They didn't have sourdough or rye breads the first two times I visited. In fact, they even have a sign on the wall touting their sourdough selection. Not having rye wasn't too much of a surprise since they always put rye in the hard-to-reach places in the grocery stores, suggesting it's not a big seller. I was surprised they didn't have sourdough bread. I tried their Cobblestone 21 grain and seed bread. It was dry, flavorless and had an odd texture.,It was marked organic so I think they were targeting the hipster crowd, but it tasted mass produced. Sadly I used up a lot of tasty roast beef with a bread I wouldn't buy again. On my third trip they had both sourdough and rye. I got what they call Brooklyn Rye. I liked it better than the 21 grain and seed, but it wasn't a great bread. It also tastes mass produced. They have a table for things on close out for 79 cents that looks like it has some good values. Update: I found a 2-pound loaf of Earth Grains Jewish rye for $1.89. That's good bread at a great price.

    I love you Tastykake

We ordered the BBQ Pork Buns, Minced Pork Dumplings, and Sui Mai. We took everything home and steamed it ourselves. I also picked up a Napoleon pastry from the bakery case. The BBQ Pork Bun was good with nice flavor. I would order it again, especially since I don't know of many other places in Reno where I can get one of my favorite dim sum items. The Minced Pork Dumplings, however, were not for us. I believe the flavor of the Chinese leek may have been what turned us off. As for the Napoleon, it wasn't very sweet or particularly flavorful, and it made quite a mess to eat. Not something I'd reorder. The Sui Mai was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. This was the winner of our take home feast. While not everything was a hit for us, we'd return for the Sui Mai and BBQ Pork Buns and other explore some other items that we have yet to try.

YELP REVIEW PROMPT…read more Checked on Yelp for a dessert spot that I haven't tried before. Sierra Nevada Creamery and Bakery was a quick four minute walk from our lunch spot so we thought why not! It's located right next to the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts and has a very small parking area. There are restaurants on either side so there is also street parking. It was a warm day so I decided on a double scoop in a cup, one pistachio and one sea salt caramel. The double scoop was huge, definitely no skimping and only $10. There was one person ahead of us and then tons of people piled in after we did so we got there at a really good time! There was only employee working (I think he may have been the owner). I felt so bad because it was just him and he had a line almost out the door but if he was stressed he did not show it. He was friendly and so professional. The inside is pretty small but there some places to sit and if the inside is full the grass area right outside isn't a bad place to enjoy your treats. I would recommend for sure and I definitely want to go back and try a chocolate chip cookie. Things to note: Read his story on the ice cream menu. I enjoyed it and that is what makes me want to return to try the chocolate chip cookie.

I was surprised to see this place as I've driven by this strip of businesses many times and never noticed this particular spot. They offer homemade treats, but mostly ice cream. They have an almost unmatched selection of non-dairy ice creams and sorbets. A nice surprise. The gentleman helping us was very nice and gave us a full rundown of how they make everything in house. He offered samples and suggestions. I sampled the flavor of the week, Lavender Honey Matcha, and the coconut cream coffee. My kids decided on the mango sorbet and the classic strawberry. Everything was delicious. The coconut cream ice cream had great flavor and texture given that it was non dairy. My wife and I decided on the matcha flavor of the week. It was very refreshing. The strawberry had real chunks of strawberry which is always a treat. My biggest critique is the texture of the ice cream. This stuff seemed very crumbly. I prefer a much more "chewy" or "sticky" ice cream if that makes sense. This stuff was more "dry" and less "creamy". There are some other local shops in the area that make great ice cream exactly how I like it, which is the only reason for 4 stars. I'm not sure this would be my top place for ice cream again. The smallest "one scoop" size is actually nearly two full scoops. Could be a good thing for some, but a kids scoop is always appreciated for my toddlers, especially a a slightly discounted price. That is not an option here. There are a few small tables inside to enjoy your treats and lots of to-go options which is always nice. The place was clean and well decorated. It was steadily busy while we visited, indicating that this place is likely here to stay. Overall, worth stopping in if you're in the area. The flavors are unique and tasty and the non-dairy selection is fantastic.

I love watching the people and cars go by in Midtown while enjoying a great meal. We started with drinks. I ordered the Limoncello Spritz, and wow--it was absolutely out of this world! My husband ordered the Chardonnay, and owner Claudio explained that it's made in the traditional Italian style. Instead of being buttery like many California Chardonnays, it's slightly sweeter and very smooth. After trying my cocktail, my husband decided to order a Limoncello Spritz too, and he ended up enjoying it even more than the wine. We skipped the appetizers and salads and went straight to the main event. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, which I had been dreaming about all day. It was light, delicate, and packed with incredible flavor. My husband, who is from New Zealand, chose the lamb chops. They were cooked to perfection, so tender you could cut them with a butter knife. He paired them with the asparagus risotto, which was delicious but a little heavy alongside the lamb. We ended up taking some home, and next time I'd recommend pairing the lamb with a salad instead. To finish, we shared the large ricotta cannoli topped with chocolate chips. It was heavenly, light, creamy, and it practically melted in our mouths. Honestly, every dessert we've had here has been fantastic. Dolce Caffè continues to impress with its authentic Italian flavors, warm hospitality, and wonderful atmosphere.
