I come in to this Starbucks regularly. I came in here on a busy Sunday there were about 10 other orders in front of me so I was expecting a wait. Sarah Tapia did not fail to deliver. She was the only person who was making the drinks and there were about 3 other Starbucks Employees just standing around. This is something I often see here at this Starbucks. I'm giving this a one star solely based on the fact that it was so busy that no one else could bother to help out the poor gal, but I would give 5 stars to Sarah Tapia. Although it only shows one check-in, the summer of 2010 I was here 3-4 days a week doing homework for my summer classes for 8 weeks. Now that I work over by PCC, I visit the Starbucks on Lake and California but this Starbucks was a great place to do homework during the summer. I'm always stopping by this location before heading to work. There's usually a long line early in the morning but it goes by very quickly. Plenty of seating inside thus plenty of people inside getting work done there. It's always clean too! They keep their condiment bar stocked, which I appreciate so much. Being that it's located in a small shared plaza, parking isn't too bad either. It's right off the 110 fwy & right next to the metro gold line. BONUS: Service is always fantastic here! read more

Been coming here ever since the wee ones were wee ones, they know my children and I very well, the quality of their products never change, and it's always clean in here including the restrooms. The turn around of employees has been not too bad except this past year where there are a lot of new faces. I won't be coming here anymore tho-I ordered a grande iced coffee, and it's the 4th time the barista seems busy even when not. They poor less then half pre made coffee and use two scoops of ice to fill my drink to the top. I think the total drink equaled and expresso shot. By the time I walked out and sipped through my straw no lie I was done. Quality of Starbucks service is pretty much garbage and all about the dollar. If I ever want an iced coffee I'll look for a local Gas station or 7/11 and pour myself. If I'm going to get shit I might as well know I've willingly purchased it. read more

I don't know if it is an off day or what but they really need to work on customer service. We ordered a Frappuccino and a traveler coffee from Brianna(Yes, I look at name tags.) I want to know who is serving me so I can thank them. Well, she handed us our Frappuccino with a thank you which was sweet. but then they left us hanging with the status of our traveler for 10 minutes, until I asked if someone is working on it and the other baristas just said "ya" barely looking at me. I'd like a heads up if it's going to take more than 10 minutes to make. These ladies needed a cup of coffee today. Barely going through the motions. oh and did I forget to mention we were the only order in line. Directly at the Filmore Metro Station, you can enjoy your latte or whatever you like at Starbucks, no surprise here. The only difference that I realized is the cop who's sitting in his car just next to this place and waits for people who cross the Metro tracks when the red light is on. Okay, so I'm gonna be the evil person who gives an honest review of my not so stellar experience at this location and I'll probably end up filtered or something. Here's the thing, I have observed at this particular location that the young women who work here are very outgoing and very loud. Nothing wrong with that! There's certainly an energy going around the place when you walk in and it's not a bad one if you need a quicker energy boost than you can get your coffee handed to you. Well that's exactly what happened to me the other day. I came in on a whim because I definitely needed that midday kick to get me going. The girls behind the counter were loud and outgoing as usual but this particular day they seemed to be more interested with conversing amongst themselves and their male customers than actually TAKING ORDERS and MAKING DRINKS. I stood in front of the cashier for about a minute before she even turned and noticed me. She was too caught up in her laughter and chit chat with her fellow coworkers to be bothered with me. Finally when she DID realize I was there, she didn't even say "Sorry what can I get for you?" no. She just looked at me with a blank expression and it made me uncomfortable as if I was BOTHERING her. So since she didn't even mutter the words, I had to chime in and begin placing my order which she put in WRONG. A group of males walked into the shop as I was standing in line. Well this seemed to get the girls behind the counter more excited than when I walked in that's for sure. The girls kept flirting and chatting and acting all cute for these guys. They handed them all water cups because it was hot outside. By the time these men actually got in line to order paid drinks, I was already waiting off to the side to get my drink. ... ... ... ... ... LONG PAUSE LATER... I look around and realize all the guys behind me have received their drinks. I'm still waiting for mine. FINALLY the Barista begins making my drink very slowly. She notices me standing there and she seems to have an attitude. She doesn't say one word but continues to move slowly and converses (of course) with the rest of her crew about God knows what. She periodically looks up at me and doesn't smile, doesn't explain or anything but she finally hands me a drink with no expression like the ones she's been giving the entire time to her coworkers and the guys who walked in. No I don't get any of that, but I finally DO get my drink and it was made WRONG. Gee why does that not surprise me? If the girls had actually been paying attention to their jobs that day instead of socializing and slacking off, maybe I wouldn't have had to stand there an additional 5 minutes waiting for my drink to be remade. Maybe I would've actually not been late to work for the first time ever that evening. When I explained the drink was wrong, I almost sworn she muttered the words, "whatever" and she didn't even say sorry or a damn thing besides and she turned around and dumped the drink into the sick and just walked away. I was clearly upset by this time and another Barista walked over and asked me if everything was ok. I told her it wasn't and that I was upset because a bunch of people behind me got served before me and I just ordered one measly drink. Her reply was simply that my drink "just got out of order" and that was it. UM no. My drink did not simply get out of order because no one was doing their job that day. The owner of this location needs to understand that upbeat personalities don't always add up to a positive customer service ability. The girls here are upbeat, loud, goofy and friendly but they are also rude and distracted at times. Wake up and um... smell the coffee and realize this. /no pun intended! read more

As Starbucks go, this one's a good one. Ok, so first off the food and drinks are pretty standard. Nothing special here. The Baristas are great. Very helpful and they seem to work well together. Also, during rush hour, they're on it! I haven't had to wait more than 5 minutes on a busy day. Great open space. As you can see from the pic I posted, there's plenty of space inside. It never feels crowded. They also have four big comfy chairs (also pictured). It would however be nice to have more of those big comfortable chairs. With all the space they have available, they could easily fit a couple more of those big chairs in there. The location gets alot of natural light. So it's always well lit. The location is local stopping point for homeless people. They usually hang out outside. I think it has something to do with the train station next door. There's also alot of smoking going on immediately outside. so that's a bit of a hassle. Parking is good though. read more

While you may think that going to one starbucks means going to all starbucks, you are wrong. The drinks may taste similar, but there are small details that make some starbucks better than others. If you are looking for a place to do some reading or studying, this is not the starbucks to go to. They only have about 3 tables with chairs. There are two bar areas, but their stools barely have any backing for you to lean back. There is a lounge-y area with coffee tables and 4 sofa chairs. There is definitely a lack of outlets at this location. There is also an issue with the bathroom. It is a keypad lock, so you'll need to ask them for the code. Once inside, it is a digital lock. I'm quite wary as to whether the lock actually works. It makes a noise when you press the button, but what is there to stop someone from the outside opening the door? It is located in a very shady plaza, where the immediately neighboring store looks completely empty and abandoned. Staff is friendly most of the time. This Starbucks is usually quite busy at all times of the day though. Located catty corner from Huntington hospital (where I work) it is a nice walk to get some fresh Pasadena air. As a gold card holder for over 3 years I have frequented many SB in my time. I would rank this a 4 out of 10 in terms of staff friendliness, cleanliness of bathrooms and amenities in store. They are creeping back up and can easily be a 6 out of 10 if the staff here was a bit more cordial and responsive to customers. There is a nice patio sitting area in front and parking is usually relatively easy in and out. read more

The people were super nice and peppy (frighteningly so, for so early in the morning). The place was nice and clean and full of delicious looking treats. They worked fast too, and I got my coffee in in just a short few minutes. Unfortunately, it's just a Starbucks and the same thing you'll find at the other one that's probably less than a mile away. Nothing special or fancy here. I got a black coffee with espresso because it's cheap. This one was better than most I've had at Starbucks, since they usually taste burned and this one was just middle-of-the-road. Speaking of identical franchises, why is it that every Starbucks asks for your name and then never calls it? I've only heard myths of it happening, because at this place (and every other location I go to) I give them my name and then have to listen for my order, which always comes out as a muffled "irdfjerif -ferf rfeg erugheur" and I have to watch the guy's lips to see if I can read it. "Cof--- with -----o sh-----"? Sounds like coffee with espresso shot, that must be mine! Look around, don't see anyone else going for it, so grab it and go! read more

The Starbucks off Fair Oaks Blvd in Pasadena is one of the worst that I have ever been to. I'm there pretty much every morning since I meet a friend there to carpool for work. The staff is hit or miss- one guy will consistently mess up my order, every. single. time. If I get a breakfast wrap then he unceremoniously dump it in a bag so it goes everywhere. I'm never really sure if he does my coffee right (is it whole milk when I asked for skim? Are there really four shots of espresso in there??) and the last time I went in, it took 15 minutes to get my mocha. He is also the same guy that took my starbucks gift card, didn't run it right, claimed there was nothing on it and threw it in the trash. If you go to this Starbucks, just be vigilant that you don't get the wrong coffee or have this guy steal your gift card. read more

This is hands down the best Starbucks with the best management (Xander) and friendliest staff, not to mention that technically they make the best espresso drinks. Most locations don't calibrate their machines or their baristas don't work the machines right-not here. I travel an extra distance just to get my drinks here. read more

Came here the morning of the Rose Parade. The lady who took my order was very rude. I think she was pissed off. Eventually they took her off the register and had her making drinks but you could still tell that she was angry. She was having a bad day. It seemed like she was dropping everything and she kind of just left it on the floor. So, I guess I understand why she was pissed, but STILL! I thought Starbucks was suppose to have exceptional service. The second time I came to this location during the same day. The same lady was there and she still seemed angry. Solid Starbucks location, very clean, conveniently located and friendly baristas. The space is huge and could probably have been laid out in a way more conducive to lounging. The floor space is taken up by stands displaying their products and there are wooden chairs and tables along the edges of the space . I never thought I would review a Starbucks but here I am! My first visit there, we noticed the outdoor seating areas had already been moved inside. It was ten mins til 10pm and I didn't realize they were about to close before arriving. I felt bad but we had walked and I was craving coffee. They were inviting and very friendly and told us not to worry at all. The barista made our coffee lickity split and we were on our way. That night, we did notice a handful or so of homeless men hanging out in the area in front of the Metro. They were just listening to music and didn't seem like they were going to harm anyone. They didn't ask for money or anything either. I'm sure if my boyfriend wasn't with me, I would have been a little more worried for my safety but they seemed to be minding their own business. Stopped by again today and 3 new faces behind the counter. All super sweet with friendly faces and smiles. Again, there were a couple homeless people hanging outside but didn't seem to be bothering anyone. I am greeted every morning by Leo with a good morning and a smile on his face which instantly puts a smile on my face ps I'm not a morning person at all so he's pretty good if he can get me to be cheerful in the morning. This is my favorite Starbucks in Southern California. All of the employees are extremely kind and super helpful, especially Alexander!!! He goes far above and beyond to make your experience at this Starbucks location a great one! I always come in with a huge order for an office and he not only greets me by name but also puts individual names on all of the drinks (over 20 of them!) to make it easy for the people receiving the drink to know which one is theirs. Nice and quiet. The cashier couldn't spell my name, and my caramel macchiato came out a little too light. Otherwise, its location is perfect (It's right next to the metro station, so if you see your train flying by without you, you know you have at least 10 minutes to get yourself a coffee) and it has very friendly staff. Make sure you finish your coffee before you get on the train. The fine will be more than 100 times of what you are paying for the coffee if you get caught. But seriously, do people ever get caught? read more

Worst Starbucks I've been to in a while. Waited five mins for my drink while the two baristas (one lethargically cleaning) chatted instead of actually making drinks. Passing through Pasadena..... So I have no complaints on the store it's cleanliness is kept up...however I was debating on posting this but you may run into this situation when going to this starbucks......the manager I believe his name was Pablo scolds his employees in front of customers....so not professional!! Making the environment weird and uncomfortable....waiting in line a customer was in front of me and the nice lady Lu was helping her out and I don't know what the problem was however he continued scolding her while helping the lady in front of me.... the staff other than Pablo are nice respectful and willing to help....Thank's Lulu, Chris and Jesus for making really good drinks and keeping customer's happy.....I agree with other's parking could be better and you'll see many bums.... someone needs to tell Pablo to save his remarks for the private setting.... read more

They are always super friendly here! All the staff are super upbeat and positive. And they remember your name if you're a regular. I come here the most because it's the closest to my house. And it's right next to the gold line! Which is great if you like to commute places by train. There can be a lot of homeless people in the area because of the shelter nearby that hang out by the CVS across the street, just an FYI. read more
