Since it was mod Monday, I decided to drop by to get a coffee since I was nearby. I ordered an ice coffee with pistachio foam. I got a grande with extra ice in a Venti cup. The coffee was watery. There wasn't much coffee flavor. I also expected more ice since I requested for extra ice. Overall, I got more like a watery milky drink w/ a slight flavor from the pistachio foam. It's My First Time at the Starbucks and the drive-through. Seems like it was a kid who just started the job. I understand that he can get a little nervous. Then there was a second voice who jumped in and interrupted him and the kid couldn't get my order right? So that second voice was trying to get my order right? However, when my order was finally done and I arrive to the window, my order was completely wrong. Then I had them if they can fix it so they did. They blended it for me. Then my second drink I asked strawberry size half water have lemonade. That thing taste too sweet and too much like lemonade. I normally ask for half water and half lemonade, because I don't like it too sweet. So what I did. I got off to the store and asked them if they can remake it because I asked for half water, half lemonade. The girl just added a little bit more water, which only fills up the small little sips that I drank from it when I forgot it so that doesn't make it half water, half lemonade. Anyways, I didn't want to sit there and argue. I was already having a long day and it's very hot outside, so I decided to keep the drink how it is but I was very unsatisfied with how things were handled. I believe that great customer service also comes with good service, and if the customer is asking to remake a drink or asking for a specific drink. They should be able to make the corrections correctly and not just do anything. That's their convenience. And this case it was easier to add a little bit more water, then to remake my drink, so I give this Starbucks one star because it doesn't have the option to give zero anyways besides that they were kind of nice. read more

Hi , Just went to this Starbucks on Hill and Walnut. I had gotten a drink , for Teacher appreciation week ( from the parents ) but i don't get to work til 2 pm. It did not taste like it should !!! It was the Oat Brown sugar espresso. I have had it once before , it was yum. Anyway , i am picky w my drinks becuz i don't like lots of ice or really any ice. It waters down the drink !!! So when i went tonite to see if they can remake it , she was nice and said sure. But she showed me how much ice they usually use for that drink , she filled it completely w ice !!! I said , no way , then u really get no drink at all ( she said the hot espresso melts some ice ) but still that is crazy to me , becuz no one wants to pay just for a big cup of ice !!! ( and that's what u basically are getting ) anyway , she dumped almost all out , and made it. I asked for extra shots of espresso and lots of brown sugar and extra cinnamon too. It came out perfect !!!! It tasted like i think it should. She explained a few times that she can do no ice , but it mite be all milk then. I just kept saying , as long as u add extra brown sugar and cinnamon it will taste good. I forgot to get her name , but she was nice. Used to go the location across from this one, but now they've moved into the spot where my beloved Tommy's Burgers used to be. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely a larger footprint than it's previous location, but inside it's not much bigger - except now they've got a drive-through.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now, that just means double the orders and, unfortunately, double the wait it it seems. Staff look like they're in a panicked rush to keep up, so it's not exactly the best place to chill and relax. I have to give credit where credit is due. Every single person here is so kind and polite. They always make their drinks with love. I'm here at least once a week and haven't had a bad experience. I went in at 11:28 am and ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It can sometimes be hard for the baristas to hear me. Today, I figured out it's the sound of the cars and air conditioning, which makes so much sense why speaking up is more important in a drive through.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The barista, Alan, had trouble hearing my order & allergies, so I went up to the window. Alan is extremely kind and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience despite the difficulties hearing me. I understand now how to communicate better at the drive thru. I have severe nut allergies and the barista, Rocky, made sure to tell me about cross contamination, which is very thorough. They took care with my order and the barista, Liz, made sure to safely make my drink and even put a cute flower on top! I'll be back! read more

The first encounter was on a Friday morning around 9ish or later. It was fairly busy and I was waiting for my mobile order. The barista gave me my order and I politely asked her for 2 pup cups. After the scoff and eye rolling she reluctantly gave me my pup cups. This morning I had another rude encounter with the same barista. I came to pick up my mobile order, I asked for my red cup which was supposed to come with my order and again I was met with a scoff and eye rolling. People are rude. Manager is inconsiderate and doesn't care about the workers but more so her own job. They should switch partners more often. Partners are always projecting their moods on customers or the drinks/food being warmed or made. Partners will talk behind customers back about them disregarding the fact that THEY'RE PAYING FOR A DRINK/FOOD TO COME OUT AS IT SHOULD FOR THE PRICE THATS BEING PAID! Multiple times you'll see partners drink coffee, taking shots or even warming up food to eat on the floor while the customers wait. So unprofessional and Starbucks should do better with the employees they have and should train them on work ethic and mannerism when working with customers. Avoid this location if possible. Drive thou Customer service is terrible. You would expect the employees to be pleasant it's a new location. I stopped by this location because its on my way home. I had purchased a drink at a different location that was terrible and want to change for something else. The person who helped had a toned that seemed to imply that was I trying to get a free drink. There is an employee there who is friendly and professional, but everytime I place an order, they point out the tip screen, and tell me, with a smile, to pay a tip. It's embarrassing and I think kind of rude. It's over-the-counter service, and where I come from, tipping is optional in a situation like that. I know you don't get rich working at Starbucks, but these people make more than I do, and I don't think anyone should be cheerfully shamed into paying a tip. I find it strange and awkward. read more

Like many of you I've been in multiple Starbucks locations. And in different states. The staff/team at this location is the highest by far. They are nice people who seem to enjoy their job. They are always welcoming when customers walk in the door. I notice they always greet everyone by name. Meaning they actually take the time to remember. I have always thought of this particular Starbucks as an auxiliary store; I don't ever aim for this place with Starbucks on my mind. Instead, I happen to drive by, see it and think to myself, "Hey, I could stop in at that Starbucks...." A subtle difference, maybe, but not without pretense. You see, this particular location is one of the older locations, before the Seattle-based coffee conglomerate elected to add drive-thrus to their new stores. Thus, at most of my daily driver SBs, I don't have to endure the 4th year junior college kids student-sprawled with all their bags and selfie sticks and phone chargers and spent V-bucks cards and stuff spread out on the table and the tables next to their tables... I just prepare my "No thank you" to the perpetual question, "Can we get you started with any food?" and then order my ridiculously long-named expensive drink that I can't live without anymore. But no, not at the Hill location. Due to the busy street and a confluence of bad drivers from PCC, and the compass rose points of Pasadena that all seem to use Hill Ave. and drive 70 miles per hour off the pole position at the light, you have to park in the strange back parking lot, and you better get in there quick, or you're going to be buying a whole new rear end and nursing major whiplash injury. Once you're inside, the staff is really really nice, and they're really really fast. Even though they are really really crowded, and that strange guy with the eye mole really really won't stop staring at me. Again. Really. Is he still looking? Dammit, I made eye contact again. Really. Seating outside is your best bet, but it's loud and not entirely free of jacaranda leaves from the nearby tree, and there's always an outside chance that some down-on-his-luck homeless dude has got all his stuff spread out on all the flat surfaces just like that Millenial camper inside does at the tables. There's no where to sit inside, and while you're waiting for your drink, there's sort of no where to stand that you're not presently in someone's way. Four stars for the great service and the great attitude. If their speed and kindness were not top drawer, this would be a 3 star joint, tops. read more

I was surprised to learn that any coffee drink can be turned into a Frappachino, but at a cost. Mine was a caramel machiato, which means expresso poured on top. Seeming like a complicated drink, my Vente was priced accordingly. Knowledge is power, so I have to admit these folks were well versed in their preparations, and were beautifully made. It may be a better choice if you are walking and not planning to linger to get any work done. Also, when I arrived, the restroom was closed. My wife, two sons (12 yrs, 10 yrs) and I stopped by this Starbucks for breakfast and coffee around 9:45am before visiting the Huntington Gardens. This Starbucks had free parking in the back and the interior and bathroom were clean. However, my two sons ordered sandwiches to be heated up (which usually takes 5 to 10 minutes). After waiting for 15 minutes and seeing 5 customers receive their orders ahead of me (perhaps they did mobile orders), I looked behind the counter. A new staff member appeared to have forgotten about our order (at least, the part which involved heating up 2 sandwiches). I noticed a few other customers were annoyed because of a long wait. Due to the backlog, a manager intervened to complete the order quickly in a few minutes, but 20 minutes had elapsed before the oatmeal and two breakfast sandwiches were ready. Hopefully, this was a one-time only problem in the middle of August. read more
