This was a random stop which ended up being the most pleasant interaction I had that day due to the great staff. I remember seeing a Starbucks across from a CVS years ago when I lived over this way, so I knew where to go off of Arroyo. Even though I did a mobile order for the drink, I wanted to see what they had on offer for food so I was in line behind a talkative lady which gave me time to check out the selection. There were actually quite a few new items on display so when it was my turn, I inquired about them as I reloaded my card. Xander was honest in his opinion which I appreciated, and quite frankly, he was right. After waiting for my drink, I realize my stupid self had mobile-ordered to the incorrect location. Letting the barista know, she offered to make it for me as I tried to bring up my receipt on the app to show her as proof but she was so cool about it, and it ended up being no issue at all which I was grateful for. As I waited, another employee (tall guy with a light brown ponytail) came over to offer a heated up berry blondie which ended up being better than I had expected. I'm such a chocolate fanatic that I originally dismissed this pastry but I'm so glad I tried it after all. My visit was on Thursday, February 5th around 4p. I must say this Starbucks is probably the worst that I've ever been to. I was just about to order when my toddler child to me that she needed to pee and couldn't hold it in. I went to the counter and asked for permission to use the bathroom. The person behind the counter said that there's someone already using it. I looked at him blankly as there were two bathrooms and even if someone was using it, he could still give me the code. At that point, I didn't even have the time or energy to order after that. As I was about to leave and hurry to rush to another bathroom, another worker helped me on the way out. After I went to the bathroom, I found both bathrooms vacant and no signs that someone had just left unless they had a magic trapdoor to one exit this particular Starbucks. While I cannot vouch for the quality or food in this Starbucks, I do believe in honesty. There were so many ways to resolve this without just blatantly lying to me. Just to name a few: "Restrooms only for customers" "Okay, I can give you the code after you order" "Oh, I'm busy" "Ask the guy over there" It's workers like this that bring the whole franchise down. read more

I understand that Starbucks has updated its policy and now requires a purchase to use the café or restroom. As a private business, they're within their rights to do that. That said, my experience at this location was frustrating. The store wasn't busy at all - no line, no rush... and when I asked to use the restroom, I was told I had to make a purchase. I asked if I could just get a cup of water, and was told no - that I needed to buy something like a bottled water for around $3. I ended up buying the water to use the restroom, which I wouldn't normally mind if the space were well-maintained. Unfortunately, the bathroom was in poor condition - grimy, visibly unclean, with things like hair in the corners and generally worn, neglected surfaces. It could have just been a little better for needing to buy something to use it lol If customers are required to make a purchase to use the restroom, that's fine... but there should be a basic standard of cleanliness that matches that expectation? Came here on a Monday to get some work done. Upon entering the store, baristas were warm and welcomed everyone who entered the store. They made my coffee right just as any usual stores. The interior seems pretty outdated looking and one of the few stores that hasn't gotten a refresh yet. Restrooms are locked so you'll need a pin to use it. Since I'm a customer, I kindly asked for the code. But I think one of the restrooms was set to the pin so it worked on one but not another. read more

Starbucks coffee is terrible. It always has been. Their popularity years ago came from sweet sugary Frappuccinos and a lounge style cafe where they called you by name. The ONLY reason I continued to frequent these coffee shops is because of the general "yes!" vibe I got from Starbucks and its staff. I felt welcomed and I appreciated that it was a place I could grab a water with my coffee or use the restroom if needed during my stay. Today, I stopped by this specific Starbucks on my way into work. I was wearing dress slacks, a white tee shirt, and had my dry cleaned shirt hanging, still in garment bag, from my purse. Hair pinned back in a bun and makeup done flawlessly. I am trying to paint a picture. I take the metro into work to avoid traffic and today my blood sugar was low and I got a little nauseas. I thought, "perfect, I will stop at Fillmore Starbucks to get some water so I don't faint or vomit." Well, boy was I silly for thinking it was a safe place... I was shut down IMMEDIATELY. I approached the man working behind the counter and told him what was going on and if I could have a small cup of water. He took about 5 seconds to finally sputter out the words "no" and that I would have to purchase something. I stuck out my shaking hand and proceeded to tell him I buy Starbucks daily, and right now I just need water because I was scared. I said, "let me show you my app! I purchase all the time!" And he still said no. I could barely walk at this point. I sat down in a chair and then asked a customer waiting for his drink to ask for a cup of water. It was embarrassing. And not for me. For the workers. For Starbucks. How do you feel turning away a woman on the verge of fainting? A woman who make 6 figures. A woman who pays taxes. A wife. A mother. How do you feel? And if you feel nothing, than don't work in customer service. It isn't a good paying job and you won't get tipped with your attitude. Go find an office somewhere and bury yourself in your own misery; allow the humans left with hope and love to deal with the people. Starbucks, do you see how ridiculous all of this is? Your employees need to be trained in using discernment. This new move, in addition to the constant price gauging, is pushing you further off the cliff. This store has great friendly employees. And it's a shining example of treating ALL people with compassion and dignity. Starbuck's seems to have a policy that treats homeless people with dignity and respect and this place masters it. This was my favorite starbucks but the cashier esme ruined it completely. Starbucks is known for customizations of there drink. The barista esme sold me on a drink. Then I started ordering and today she thought she can outsmart me by customizing my own drink to an actual drink at starbucks. Sorry not happening because starbucks is about customizations. I'm not paying 3 bucks more for you to just shake the drink. Maybe next time you should learn the register. Why type in my actual drink and say 4.55 then say let me try this to change the price. Came to get my morning coffee at 10 and the guy taking orders had such a attitude and was rude asf. Has to be my favorite location over all. I come this to location 2-3 times a week since it's by my job and the staff have always been super great and always make me feel welcomed. Even when it's busy, they make sure to acknowledge every single person that comes in and they are always on top of the timing of orders. This Starbucks has the best customer service ever! The baristas are always friendly and kind. Even when they're swamped they never make you feel as though they are too busy to assist. I've also been present when a customer is yelling at an employee for not having their mobile order quick enough. Never once did the barista raise his voice or become rude to the customer. He simple apologized to the woman and explained that all of the orders were coming out in the order received. "Stellar" customer service! It's a good one. Very close to the Gold Line station, so in theory, if you have a day pass or a TAP card with lots of dough on it, you could get off here, grab a coffee, and get back on the next train. Parking here is a tough deal, and the small cul-de-sac adjacent to the store has a stop light that takes a Martian year to change colors from red to green. Some people park in the adjacent drug store parking lot, but that would be, like, so wrong. Inside there is plenty of seating, and outside, most days there is a fellow with lots of signs about Jesus who would be happy to engage with you in a spirited debate about the nature of modern proselytization and the eventual outcome for your soul. He doesn't seem to drink coffee... at least I've never seen him drinking coffee. Maybe next time I'll offer him a tall Pike and see what he says. read more

The Starbucks has very poor customer service. I've gone here multiple times and I've ordered through Ubereats here multiple times. More often than not they mess up my order and they're not apologetic when you call and talk to them, they just give excuses. I have called each time and asked to speak to a manager, but the manager is never available. Not once have I been able to get through to a manager.
