This is like all other Starbucks except for the seating arrangements. I recommend you sit on the patio. WIFI reaches outside and they have comfy couches. I usually come here for coffee meetings. Coffee meetings = My colleagues and I drink coffee and chat at hyper speed about work. :) We like to sit at the big table in the back. It gives us lots of space for paperwork, laptops, and our beverages. Plus there is a little faux fireplace above the table that looks really cool too. read more

So, okay.. the location is great, customer service is completely strange and uninviting. The guy at the register is timid, awkward and unapproachable. And then you have to wait forever for the weird barista who sort of dances around and seems to be in his own world, frequently touching his greyish hair before making your drink with out washing his hands first. Not to mention the woman who appears to be in charge of that shift who doesn't acknowledge customers as she stocks the cold food, or while she is walking out for the day ( through the same path customers wait in line or pass thru as well). And that, might I add, is obvious that the other employees are either scared of or kiss ass to. read more

How difficult is it to put a layer of steamed foamed milk on the top of a latte? Really, you're a barista at Starbucks, did you undergo any training whatsoever? So often here I've ordered a regular tall latte and get back a cup of hot milk poured over a weak expresso shot. It's disgraceful. Please, get your act together, learn how to make a latte and a soy latte - it's not that hard. This is not the only Starbucks where this happens, Starbucks, please, train your "baristas" how to make one of the most common drinks ordered in coffee shops, a simple latte. The baristas are rude most of the times- any request is a big inconvenience to them (my orders are always simple like an americano or a cappuccino- the only requests I make are asking for hot water or asking for coffee in a mug). Woops! This is one of those places I went to so many times, I forgot to actually review it. This Starbucks location is really pretty. The interior has a variety of seating styles and areas, and there is seating outdoors (although, be prepared to deal with lots of traffic during peak hours) I discovered that I didn't write a review when I went to update it. (You can't update something you've never written, huh...) Well, I had a great experience here recently. I only popped in for a coffee, and there was no milk out on the counter, only half and half. I love this place. It's about 2 miles from the place where I live and I am coming here when I want to read something or work with my laptop. They have outdoor space as well. They also have some kind of a hired room in the back, so you can sit and work all day long. I like to sit in the comfortable chairs, close to the window. You bet your buns I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte WHAT OF IT Do not ::i repeat:: DO NOT even try to come for me on this. I walked in purse first like the Kween I am and bee lined it to the one functioning restroom because gurrrrrrl, it was an emergency. This Starbucks apparently has two restrooms but only one was functioning and it was also out of TP and about 3 paper towels from being out. The restrooms are probably not the place most people get their first impression when they come here but it was mine and the scene wasn't great. Definitely needed to be stocked, cleaned, and mopped. It killed me to not pick up the penny I saw on the ground in a pool of water along the wall by the toilet and trash. Major case of FOMO for me, for sure. After using their restroom and tapping into their wifi, I decided I'd go ahead and actually patronize their business. When I got in the quick-moving line I was not getting a PSL but then the 'basic' (as the kids say) kicked in and I ordered the biggest Pumpkin Spice Latte they could scrounge up. Baristas were complementary to me, customers were complementary to me, and the Pumpkin Spice Latte complimented my day sooo definitely a Sbux I'll be happy to patronize again. And bonus points because its next to Veggie Grill, my fave place. read more

Ok, Starbucks is Starbucks. How can I give 1-star? What could possibly go wrong? Well, this morning, I ordered a short cappuccino. The (very) young man who made the coffee simply blew my mind. When I took the cup from him, something felt different... (nope, don't think romantic stories). The cup felt... VERY light. Almost as if it was empty. Being in a rush, I took my drink and sped off. Later on, when I found time to remove the lid to investigate, I was shocked. The foam reached up to only the half-way mark of the cup. I stirred the foam away and licked up the foam, the coffee was just a VERY THIN LITTLE LAYER at the bottom of the cup. Well, I didn't get any Mother's Day discount for that cup of cappuccino. Why do I not get my usual amount of caffeine shot? Is that guy new to the job? Did he try to save MY coffee for himself or someone else? Many questions. I don't know, just wondering ... What I do know is that I felt very ripped off. Come on, it's not my first time ordering a short cappuccino. I knew that there is a Starbucks in this shopping mall for a long time, but never came here, because I come this mall usually after 8:30 p.m. for grocery shopping and this Starbuck is open until 9:30 p.m. Today on Jan 3rd, I needed to work from home, so I work from here instead being at my place where it is cold. Do not expect any fancy pastry because they all seem to get everything frozen and then they warm them up in the microwave, so you will always end up deceived. this is the starbucks located inside san antonio village, vs the starbucks located inside the safeway inside this shopping center. i was running some errands when my stomach called, so i popped in here for my favourite breakfast sandwich, the reduced fat turkey bacon and white cheddar on wheat english muffin. the sandwich was heated and served warm, so the cheese melted over the egg white and turkey bacon....ooey gooey yummyness! the interior was a standard size, with seating and the cashier/pickup area, but they also had an outside patio area which was a nice size, with modern outdoor furniture. it was really cold the day i visited, plus i had errands to run, so i didn't sit outside, but good to keep in mind for subsequent visits! customer service was standard, order, pay, pickup, nothing out of the ordinary on this visit. the shopping center offers 15 minute parking spaces as well as untimed parking spaces, but the latter are usually harder to come by. if you know your trip to starbucks will be quick, i'd suggest grabbing the 15 minute space. read more

I do not write a lot of reviews, but when I do it is either because the customer service is above and beyond the norm. the food sucks and/or the food is excellent. Andrew the barista at this San Antonio, Mtn. View location, is a shinning example of what customer service should be at ALL food service establishments. He not only greets his customers in a friendly way, but he also is accurate and does his job well. He also knows how to take charge and provide the "right" solution to a problem. For example, I went in to retrieve my reward of a "free drink", but upon stepping up to the register, I realized I had my days crossed and that my "free drink reward" expired yesterday? I was disappointed, as you could imagine, (since you only get these rewards after 12 purchases) and I asked the person at the register if there was anything they could do. They said no. (as I expected them to) And I proceeded to begin to pay for my drink. But Andrew, upon over-hearing my situation, asked the register person to let me have the drink on his account. Now Andrew did not have to do this. He could have focused on his own job and not intervened, but he chose to provide me customer service above and beyond what I expected. It is these types of workers, that no matter where you work, you wish you had working for you. I have been managing people for over 15 years in my career and it is people like Andrew, that I strive to have on my teams. People who take the initiative, and responsibility to do the "right thing" not because they "have to", but because it "should be done". I have met Howard Schultz in my career and I know he believes and cherishes this same value. And if he witnessed Andrew's action, I know he would be very proud and happy that Andrew is delivering the brand promise & experience that has made him a very successful businessman. read more

I am a die-hard, devoted Starbucks fan. I practically spend my annual salary there and my daily purchase is a $6.85 coffee. I know exactly what I like and i know exactly how to order it so that the check boxes are easy to mark off and the barista has no questions. Usually the employees at Starbucks are so amiable and engage in conversation with me, but this place sucks. Mainly it's the baristas at this Starbucks that are incompetent, but the cashiers aren't all the best either. I only go to this location because it's the only one on my way to work where I don't have to make a u-turn to go to the other side of the road and then u-turn again to continue my way. Today, after approximately 14 out of the last 16 orders have been incorrect, I have decided to go out of my way to another location that always gets it right. Why it's taken me this many wrong drink orders is a question I am asking myself, too. I secretly wonder if the barista likes to fuck with me given that I have a mark on each of the boxes on my cup, knowing that I usually don't test my drink until I'm in the car and have been driving a while. (Why I don't taste-test before I leave is another question I ask myself.) I always confirm all the steps to my drink with the barista before walking out the door and either they THINK they got the order right based on my instructions or they don't care. I get the sense that they really don't care at this location. Not only that, their espresso machines are NOT calibrated to the proper temperature. Their 150 degrees is NOT a true 150 degrees. This is the ONLY true location where I have to order the drink at 130 degrees in order to avoid scalding my mouth. (The other exceptions are at Barnes & Noble locations...for some reason the Starbucks coffees in those bookstores are always too hot, too.) read more

This location has gone downhill in the last year or so. One sign is that they were forced to put locks on the bathrooms and once or twice I was actually panhandled inside while sitting at my computer. What bugged me more was the time that I showed them someone had spilled a drink in the cold sandwich display, with the drink leaking inside a number of the sandwich boxes, and they just put those sandwich boxes back up for sale in the display.
