The place is busy! Very cute inside. The lineup can be long, so expect a wait time. The interior is absolutely beautiful. Not all servers know English so be patient with the crew. The prices run Boston style. Expect to pay $6 for latte and around $15+ for a sandwich. Taking one star off for pricing as after we are in Lawrence, should match Lawrence pricing. The first impression is nice as the place is inviting with nice light and a good deal of indoor seating. They also have lots of menu items and a good pastry selection. I ordered a latte and a pastry. I was not expecting the elongated wait time to receive my coffee. I have been to dozens of cafes, here and abroad, and I honestly can't recall ever waiting so long for a coffee. They seemed to have a lot of staff. Anyway, it did take some time and in the end, It turns out the coffee is average - not great but certainly not awful. The pastry was very good. I am not sure if these are made in-house or delivered to them. Overall, it is a nice to place, it just did not impress.

Try it if you love a real rich coffee, it's strong! The food is also great, the menu is varied and unique. I've tried a bit of everything, the breakfast and lunch options are always tasty and fresh, and their baked goods are indulgent. Every time I've been to either location the staff is very warm, welcoming, and friendly. Although I loved the unique charm of their tiny old location, their new location is spacious, clean, and inviting. If you want to check off all the boxes I recommend a Vietnamese iced coffee, a breakfast banh mi (super unique), and grab a dessert from their baked goods selection . You will not be disappointed !

He said he wouldn't have time to add custom decorations, but I had an idea and had him frost 11 in green and 1 in red. When I picked them up on Saturday, he added two cookies to the box. I also ordered a meat pie and a kofta wrap and while I was waiting, he gave me two pieces of warm baklava, fresh from the oven! Absolutely delicious. When everything was ready, he carried it out to my car for me, since I had the stroller. He's such a kind man. And oh my gosh... possibly the best cupcakes I've ever had. The frosting was light and more buttery than sweet. I usually take the frosting off of cupcakes but I didn't this time because it was just too good. The lemon curd center was tangy and just the right level of sweetness. I will return to Michael's for every birthday/anniversary/party from now on. Oh and that meat pie is going to live in my brain forever. So aromatic and delicious... I got it for my husband but had eaten half of it by the time I got home. Whoops!

First time ordering from here, necessitated by me leaving my breakfast and lunch sitting on my…read morekitchen counter instead of bringing it to work. Ugh. Ordered the ham and egg breakfast sandwich on a Portuguese roll, asked to add lettuce but it was not added. No sauce of any kind, so it was super dry. My bad for not asking for a condiment. Ordered a chicken salad wrap for my lunch and it came with a bag of chips. Looks to have been grilled, packaged in a clear plastic clamshell container. Asked for lettuce and onion, and it was included. I think I will attribute the very strange taste and texture to "don't buy chicken salad from a donut shop", my bad. Lastly, ordered a butternut donut (because how can you order from heav'nly donuts, and not order a doughnut?) Unfortunately, I hate shredded coconut and this is covered in semi-toasted coconut. Maybe it's my misunderstanding, but my idea of butternut is the small crunchy yellow "crumbs" like at Dunkin - should be called a coconut donut? (but I guess it's different at each donut place.) I apologize for comparing this place to DD! All tolled, I'd give it a 4 (if I could it'd be a 4.5) and would like to try other items in the future.
