Country Breakfast Plate
Jay B.

Listen, I'm not saying this place is difficult to find. But if it weren't for the big sign just beyond the actual building itself, I'd have blinked once and missed it completely. Anyways, Crack'd Kitchen totally lives up to its namesake, for every single egg product here utilizes (wait for it).....REAL cracked eggs!! This may seem like a rudimentary feature. But when you take into consideration how many short-order breakfast places rely on liquid or processed egg, things like this are graciously appreciated by those of us with a palate above that of a seven-year-old. So, I had an opportunity to try this place out both to-go and dine-in. Right upfront, I will say the food is far superior when enjoyed dine-in style. Given the distance from my house, I can aptly say we'll be mostly opting for dine-in (unless the dining area is hella crowded). For to-go, I tried the Country Breakfast whilst the dine-in meal was one of their sammiches; The Basic, to be precise. Overall, both were little short of greatness in their own ways. Though, I made a few casual observations. As mentioned earlier, this stuff is way more enjoyable inside the restaurant. Ergo, I probably should have reversed which meal I ordered when. Despite that minor setback, I think I actually liked the Country Breakfast more than the sammich. Whilst the former carries decently well as a to-go plate, the latter could have benefited from some seasoning on the eggs. I guess that's why they also offer sandwiches with various special sauces. Not gonna lie....I am slightly curious about their honey-sriracha sauce. One day I shall be brave enough to fancy it. One other complaint I have about the platter specifically: you only get half as many hashbrowns with the meal. For....some reason. Meanwhile, I ordered a side of hashbrowns with my sandwich and it came with six. I would assume that'd be the standard across the board so....make it make sense? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Btw....I should probably mention the only reason I'm stuck on this point is because the hashbrowns themselves are amazeballs! They don't even need ketchup, but comes with it if you fancy that sort of thing. A few other housekeeping deetz: their gender ambiguous restrooms are located toward the back entrance. There is also complimentary water for folks dining in. So, yeah. We'll certainly be revisiting this place from time to time. Perhaps I'll even try a couple of over-easy eggs at some point. Till then, Crack'd Kitchen and Coffee in Salem gets 4 cracked eggs with bacon and beautifully seasoned hashbrowns out of 5.

Great menu and service! A/C ans wifi are a plus! Plenty of parking and restrooms! Flavorful meal selections. Not far from freeway for passerbyers

Blueberry pancake and basic sandhwich

I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately I didn't like it. The food was bland and something I can make at home. Pancakes and sandhwich was pretty basic. Nothing fancy at all and the pistachio coffee tasted very fake? Like the syrup didn't taste natural at all. Overall I'm glad I didn't spend too much on it because I don't think it's worth the hype

Bright, welcoming atmosphere. On the small side but comfortable. Excellent coffee! Smooth, a little nutty and rich. Tasty sandwiches, way above your standard breakfast fare. Fast, friendly service.

A little kitchen and cafe with a great selection of breakfast cuisine and delightful custom crafted coffees. The portions are favorable and the food is fresh! I'll be back to this kitchen cafe in the near future!!!

We had a wonderful breakfast at the new Crack'd in Salem. We like that it is more of a casual take out place- we chose to eat outside since it was spectacular spring day. We each had a Baha burrito which were huge! I liked my iced tea and they make the iced coffee to order...cream with tonz of sugar! Order was ready in a few short minutes and service was friendly. We shall return!

Kind of expensive and food is so so, staff is good. Again with the 85 characters. A good or bad review doesn't need that many words.

It is attached to a hotel and restaurant but was super photogenic and modern. The latte was really,…read morereally good. I was really impressed. I got a salted caramel latte with almond milk, half sweet, and it was perfect. The food was less impressive. They had to remake my sandwich because I asked for no cheese... but oh well, it was okay.

A disappointing showing at this hotel cafe within the Tuscan Village compound. Slow, albeit…read morefriendly enough service, poorly executed food and drink, decent seating area. The hot lattes were flavorless and so mildly warm with actual cold spots, we wondered if ice had been put in them despite Not being iced coffees. The cold brew was no better in flavor. This is a Lavazzo espresso in an Italian-leaning shopping piazza, ya gotta get the coffees right, signores. Mingua. Then after a lengthy amount of time, our pastries were collected. All of the almond croissants looked as if entire bags of confectioners sugar had fallen open on them. Also a strange, not almondy flavor to the least-snowy almond croissant we paid an arm and a leg for and threw most of it away. Not worth the calories. Ditto the chewy and chocolate-lacking chocolate croissant. One spot of chocolate inside, horrible bready chewy exterior. These are croissants! Should be light and flaky by definition, even an Italian version. Not sure if Tuscan or hotel kitchen is at fault, or if they are shipped in from elsewhere, but the baked goods were baked bads. The avocado toast slice with tomatoes was the only winner in our entire order. We had been looking forward to trying this hotel cafe since it opened, and it was not at all worth our special stop or money or parking fee today. With so many cafe options, there is no need to give this another try when almost everything was a big letdown. If you are staying at the hotel, this may be the only game on the block, but I'm sorry to say they need to improve the service, efficiency, quality, and flavor. To put Artisan in their name is wishful thinking at this point.

First time ordering from here, necessitated by me leaving my breakfast and lunch sitting on my…read morekitchen counter instead of bringing it to work. Ugh. Ordered the ham and egg breakfast sandwich on a Portuguese roll, asked to add lettuce but it was not added. No sauce of any kind, so it was super dry. My bad for not asking for a condiment. Ordered a chicken salad wrap for my lunch and it came with a bag of chips. Looks to have been grilled, packaged in a clear plastic clamshell container. Asked for lettuce and onion, and it was included. I think I will attribute the very strange taste and texture to "don't buy chicken salad from a donut shop", my bad. Lastly, ordered a butternut donut (because how can you order from heav'nly donuts, and not order a doughnut?) Unfortunately, I hate shredded coconut and this is covered in semi-toasted coconut. Maybe it's my misunderstanding, but my idea of butternut is the small crunchy yellow "crumbs" like at Dunkin - should be called a coconut donut? (but I guess it's different at each donut place.) I apologize for comparing this place to DD! All tolled, I'd give it a 4 (if I could it'd be a 4.5) and would like to try other items in the future.

It's not as good as some of my other favorite places that I like in Providence or in the Maryland area, but I wanted to try something different. They have free parking and a lot counter service is fine. Prices reasonable for what you get.
