The hubby and I stopped here for lunch. We both had the famous Italian sandwich. The bread was very soft. The ingredients were very fresh. The price for this huge sandwich was very reasonable. Ordered a veggie sub. Asked for only tomatoes, lettuce, peppers and onions. Order screen also only listed what I wanted. Bit into my sub and found an odd taste. It was cheese. 2 kinds of cheese. I'm allergic to cheese!! Spent $12 on a sub I had to toss and spent the rest of my Sunday on the couch in agony!! I stopped in at the new Bennett's Sandwich Shop located in Tuscan Village. It was lunchtime and needed a sandwich. I went with a tuna melt. Which came with tuna, cheese, lettuce and tomato. It was grilled or toasted but the cheese was not melted and was not warm inside. It was a good amount of tuna, but was kind of bland. I would probally go with something else next time. This regional sandwich shop offers a variety of hot & cold sandwiches/subs, melts, cheesesteaks, lobster sandwiches/rolls, breakfast sandwiches/subs (all day), breakfast bowls, fries, hash browns, chips, salads, smoothies, and cold drinks. I've been by the locations at the Burlington Mall (MA) and Downtown Portsmouth. I saw mixed reviews for this location and since I was already at Tuscan Village, I decided to place an online order for Bennett's Sandwich Shop. I was hungry for a cheesesteak sub and at the same time for an egg & cheese sub, They offer a Wicked Steak Egg & Cheese Sub served all day. I ordered a 12" Wicked Steak Egg & Cheese Sub ($11.99 plus tax) on a signature sub roll with steak, provolone cheese, hots, Sriracha aioli, ketchup and added green peppers, onions, and mushrooms (another $1 plus tax). The online ToastTab order would be ready in approximately 25 minutes. I arrive around 6pm, but they were closing early due to the holiday and the doors were locked. I wave to a staff member who unlocks the door and I point out my online order on the shelf, ready to go and handed to me. The bagged and wrapped sub was heavy and very hot which was a good sign that it was freshly made. I unwrap the sub when I arrive home, which is still very hot. The bread was very soft and a bit soggy from the generous amounts of fillings and ingredients. The sub tasted very good which had a slight spiciness with plenty of grilled steak, hots, onions, peppers, & mushrooms, flatgrilled egg, sriracha aioli & ketchup. I enjoyed my hot cheesesteak/egg sub with a bag of chips and an iced coffee. If the sub roll used was instead a firm & chewy rosemary parmesan sub roll from Jers-y M!ke's filled with Bennett's ingredients, this cheesesteak/egg sub would be wicked awesome. read more

Sub shops are really hard to come by... ones that are really good and clean inside. Such a good spot, love love the wicked steak & cheese! In a sub roll extra toasted or in a bowl just as is 10/10 the best bold flavor you'll ever try! Also have chicken cheese steaks. Ok, the good: quick, pretty cheap, service people were nice, bright, reasonably clean location. The bad- the rest of it. You know the difference between a wonder-type of white bread and a quality, local Italian or Scali? This is white bread folks. The whitest white bread. No form, no taste, too soft and gets nasty quickly based on the water from the veggies. Tomatoes were mealy and mushy. Me: "do you have hot peppers?" Them: "yes." Me "could I please get hots on my sandwich, too?" Them: "sure." Upon receiving my sandwich, i learned: They do NOT have hot peppers, they have pickled banana peppers. NOT THE SAME, FOLKS. not even close. Like if tomatoes were tomatillos. Not the quality I would expect anywhere, let alone the Tuscan Village area. I can't recommend the place. Sorry. read more

My name is Craig and I am addicted to Bennet's Sandwiches. The famous steak and cheese and Italian are simply amazing. The meat is cooked perfect and all of the toppings are incredibly fresh and literally look like they were just picked from the farm and added to the sandwich. Also, I don't even want to get started on the fries as thinking of the this potato perfection makes me hungry. I am not kidding, these thick fries are always perfectly cooked with nice crispy outside and perfect texture in the center. I just polished off a large steak and cheese with fries and was so pleased with the meal I had to write this review. Give them a try as you will not be disappointed. I agree with the other reviews that say there's nothing wrong with it, but the portions are small and prices high for what amounts to little more than a wrap. It's small inside with just a few seats and the wait for the food is the worst part. They take forever. read more

We thought we'd try the "award winning" sandwiches at Bennetts located at Tuscan Village. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I gave it 2 stars one for the pleasant employee, and the other for the bread. We ordered 3 large subs, and 3 small fries. Total? $61.00. The Bennett steak was lean but even with peppers, onions, and cheese it was flavorless. The tuna was fair. The Mediterranean falafel was terrible. Made with falafel that you get at Market Basket. Summing up, we could have saved $20.00 and had Romanos deliver. More food for less cash. And what makes it worse, is the horrid way the area is so congested in that parking lot. Very poor design read more
