Another wonderful meal at Good Day. This time we did breakfast takeout with the pork shoulder hash bowl, "mule" breakfast sandwich and two pastry items (breakfast casserole cup and spinach croissant). I don't usually do breakfast out but I will be doing this again. Service was awesome - I arrived a few minutes after they opened and they took my order right away, helping with questions regarding the specials. There was plenty of room to sit comfortably for the short time it took to get my order. There are even comfy chairs in the shared lobby area. I've been here a few times but I can't say I've ever been impressed, which is unfortunate given the lack of local cafes in this area. Today I had a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, which was sorely lacking seasoning. I also had an iced spiced brown sugar latte with oat milk, which tasted like just milk when I first got it. I asked for an extra espresso shot which made it marginally better, but still not worth what I paid. I expected to have to pay extra for the shot but they didn't charge me which was nice. Good amount of seating inside and outside. Prices are comparable to other similar cafes. I'd consider coming here again but I would try something different. read more

The pastries are in a cold case and they didn't default to or offer to reheat them, not really into refrigerated pasties. Don't tell my boss this, but knowing that Good Day Cafe exists in the same building where I work is honestly my favorite part of heading to the office each morning. The food and drinks are always delicious... and they do an amazing job of offering new specials, which keeps a regular like me always excited to check the board to see what's new. In addition, the pastries have never let me down when I've caved in and added one to my order. But to be honest, my favorite part of this place is the staff. They set such a good vibe whenever you walk in. That absolutely makes my day, every time. They work incredibly hard, they keep their customers coming back, and their incredible talent always shows with each item I order there. read more

Love to support local but service today was terrible. I was only person in line and took 5 minutes before cashier even turned around to greet me. She seemed annoyed to have customer taking her away from her task . At lunch hour I would expect the cafe to be ready to take orders. read more

I understand menu change overs happen but maybe a recommendation for a similar beverage would help? I took my cousin here for lunch. She had the quiche, I had the turkey sandwich and salad with goat cheese and cranberries and walnuts with a red, tangy-sweet viniagrette. She had a hot coffee and I had hot tea. We each ordered the cranberry scones. There were a number of tables available. She did not rave about the quiche, but it was a generous portion and she ate it all without complaint. My turkey sandwich consisted of roast turkey bits and pieces left over from the cutting board, which consisted mainly of gristle and skin. When I order a turkey sandwich, I expect sliced meat. This was the stuff you usually throw away. Quite shocking, actually. I should have brought it back up and got my money back for it, but I didn't want to ruin her birthday lunch. I just put it down on the seat next to me after trying to take a few bites. The salad was better with the interesting dressing; however, the lettuce was cut so narrow it was hard to pierce it with the fork so it would stay on until I got it to my mouth. On to the scones. Mine was dry and very salty. Butter is provided, but did not help. My tea was very nice. I assume the coffee was good, and a variety of flavor shots was available for it. Free water is offered on a table at the back of the room. I understand this is a catering business and there was a lot of that activity available to watch over the half wall that separates the kitchen from the seating area. This place was pretty far out of the way for us, but I don't see any reason to make this trip again. read more

Just got experienced a great egg and cheese on sour dough but also tasted the best scone I have had! It was their cranberry orange but the orange flavor isn't strong. The scone itself is so fresh and flaky and the glaze creates a delicious blend of flavors. They really got it right! Can't wait to go back. read more

They break and fry the eggs in front of you. No processed and microwaved mystery like the big franchise's. Lots of variety, but I just go for your basic bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted bagel. Haven't been disappointed yet. read more

Spinach feta croissant is really good. Smoothies are meh. Their chai latte reminds me of fireball so if that's not your thing, I would avoid it. I'm pretty much done with this place. Not only are they overpriced, but the service is extravagantly inefficient and their opening hours are... improvisatory, shall we say. For the third time in as many weeks I called at 1:45 to order a sandwich for pickup 15 or 20 minutes later, only to be told, "I'm sorry, we close at 3, so the kitchen has shut down". Seriously, a simple lunch place needs to shut down its kitchen more than an hour in advance of its mid-afternoon closing time? Each time I visit Good Day I'm struck by the number of employees bustling around fixing sandwiches, fiddling endlessly with a single coffee order, bumping into one another - while nobody ever seems to be attending the cash register, actually taking orders. Makes the conspicuous Tips cup sitting there look all the more ridiculous. I've given their coffee a try on multiple occasions as well - it's consistently too bitter to drink. I guess this place meets the needs of the yoga moms who stop in, but they'll go out of business if they don't sort themselves out soon. My own patience has run out, there are better and more dependable options in the neighborhood. read more

This is a great little cafe. The interior is very inviting and not kitschy. Staff is always friendly. Let me start by saying that all of the food has been amazing. We've done breakfast sandwiches, all kinds of coffee beverages, and lunch sandwiches and it had been delicious and well-prepared from one end to the other. Lots of great one-off specials too! I only took away one star because they forgot to put the cinnamon bun that my husband paid for in the bag one time and then forgot a whole box of goodies the next time. This place never disappoints! Their lattes, hot or iced, are always rich and delicious; the perfect thing to sip while you enjoy the outdoor seating or are shooting off to work. And their bagel sandwiches.....glorious!! Their lox and cream cheese are spot on, and their egg sandwiches are nothing short of de-lish! I got mine with bacon and swiss, but you have the option of sausage, ham, american, or cheddar as well. They do have a limited number of bagel flavors that diminishes over the course of the day, but never have I ever been stuck with a raisin bagel egg sandwich. Was in the neighborhood and wanted something other than dunks.... should have read reviews first... When I came in there was an extensive selection of pastries, all looked great. I went with the blueberry & strawberry scone and an iced coffee... The scone was cooked perfectly, slightly crunchy exterior and soft moist interior, but that's about where it stopped... was pretty much flavorless... tastes like eating a plane scone dough. The iced coffee was ok... better than dunks but on par with sbux. I have to agree with h the service comments... employees seemed very much interested. After standing at the register for a few moments someone came over and just blankly stares at me without asking or saying anything. After ordering my scone she walked away and another employee came over and bluntly asked if that's it... Would give it one more go but would def try something else... and the employees need to learn how to smile... read more

I have gone to The Good Day Cafe over a handful of times. The staff looks annoyed to help you; this has been the case multiple times. Today's example: I was asking for a the flavors of lattes and you would have thought it was the end of the world, she rolled her eyes and seemed so aggravated that I even asked. It turned me off to even wanting to order. I did get a latte simply because I wouldn't have enough time to go elsewhere. I was ready to order much more because the donut muffins and breakfast sandwiches are very good. The girl just seemed uninterested in helping me and was annoyed that I was taking a moment looking at there menu. No, it wasn't busy. There was only one party behind me in line. Unfortunately I do not enjoy a side of attitude with my morning breakfast or coffee! If you do go, enjoy the muffins and breakfast sandwiches. Make sure to plan ahead and do not take 10 seconds to look at their extensive menu, have your order ready to go before walking in the door! Skip the lattes they are not good. It tastes like a latte you can get at Dunkin' Donuts and for almost 6 dollars I expect a higher quality! A petite mom and pop shop with a wide selection of baked temptations, including their Phantom Gourmet-recognized Bacon Maple Donut Muffin. Yes, you read that correctly. This oversized muffin is better if eaten sideways on a plate by fork, in order to ensure the multi-flavor knockout combo contained therein. Eating it like a cupcake, it's too large to get all the tastes in one bite, so you either get a huge burst of salty OR a huge burst of sweet, rather than the likely-intended flavor mix. A more manageable size would make it portable-friendly (such as, oh, eating them on the sidelines of your kid's early soccer game). The maple frosting was creamy loveliness and, despite the, shall we say "donuffin's" proportion issues, it was worth trying. Four of us each had a quarter of this monster and felt that was plenty to sample this signature goodie. The Mocha Chocolate Donut Muffin was also quite enjoyable, a bit more cakey but it worked well. The cafe itself is a cute, converted brick mill space best suited for take-out rather than casual business meetings or writing marathons on your laptop. All in all, righteous support of an "unchained" coffee shop. read more

I want to give this more stars and the food might make it worth it. However, the service and intentional cheap out on the sandwich meat makes it a place I will never go back to. The male owner was on the register. He was quite abrupt, bordering on rude. I asked for a Tuscan sandwich (menu states roasted tomato, arugula, and prosciutto). He seemed impatient as I took a moment to select what bread. When the sandwich arrived it had no prosciutto. I took it back to the counter. Me-"I thought this came with prosciutto." The owner - "did you order it that way?" Me-"the menu states it and not as an option" owner-"fine" No apology, no indication that an error had occurred. Clearly trying to save $$ by not putting prosciutto on and hoping you won't make a fuss. Just trying to take your money. read more

Ordered catering (appetizers and dessert) through this cafe for a graduation party. When I picked up the food on the day of the party they forgot to include all of the desserts I had ordered and I did not realize this until I got home. Unfortunately, by this time the cafe had already closed. When I called the next day to speak with someone I never received an apology about the error. They were unsympathetic to the situation and the attitude of the manager came across as very rude and unprofessional. I was told to come in to the cafe to receive a cash refund because they could not apply it back to my credit card I had used to purchase the food. When I went in to get my refund the demeanor of the manager was the same, still no apology or explaination for the mistake. Very poor customer service in light of the situation. In terms of the food, it was essentially mediocre. Overpriced for what it was worth. Better places in the area to go to for catering. read more

I moved to East Mill Lofts about 1.5 yrs ago. I was pretty excited when I saw there was a little local cafe in the building. My boyfriend and I tried the coffee twice and didn't like it. We are vegans and we figured a place like that would also have soy milk as an option to go with the coffees but they don't. They don't have any vegan or gluten free options either. They do have salads and bread (not sure if their toast/ english muffin is vegan) But, certainly no muffins, cakes, soups etc If you are vegan or have a gluten allergy or both like me- This isn't the small local place for you. Starbucks has soy milk, they have GF/ vegan nut bars. Surprised this place wouldn't.. The people working there are nice though. read more

Update - January 2019 Will not return. Just waited 30 mins for a bagel with cream cheese to go. Even with the owners there it was unorganized and inefficient. It would be nice if the owners helped the people making the bagels and sandwiches when they are backed up instead of ignoring them. While the food is good here, they make it difficult to want to keep coming back. When it takes 20+ minutes for a bagel to be toasted and given to the customer (which happens 9 out of 10 times) it's incredibly frustrating for such simple orders. The staff regularly are slow and highly inefficient, which is likely no fault of their own...just how they were trained. A second toaster might help speed things up and two people making food would probably work out better for read more

Went for the first time for a bakers dozen bagels priced $20 in store on the sign behind the counter and online. Was charged $25+ for the verbal "new price". I came all that way so I did not leave but will not be back again or recommend. They must be going out of business to have to hike prices verbally and the bagels were very old and stale, almost inedible. It's no wonder they are having a rough time.
