Have you ever spent 25 minutes in line at a drive thru behind only 2 other cars? No? Me either, not until I came to this AJ's this past week. Seriously. 25 minutes start to finish. I thought maybe they were short staffed... til I got to the pickup window and got a good view of the 4-5 teenagers in there moving at a freaking snails pace. Watched one drop my coffee, all of them laugh, then let me know it's going to be a little longer. 25 minutes for a coffee and a donut for my kid. Who by this point was whining. And the baby was screaming. We were late for school drop off and I was late for work. Once you're in line here you're stuck at a certain point otherwise I would have ditched. Aroma Joe's Coffee Drive-Thru is now open in Derry, across the road from 7 Eleven. Aroma Joe's seems to be expanding quickly into Southern NH with many other locations concentrated in southern Maine and southeast NH regions. I usually stop at the Sanford, ME and Rochester locations when I'm on the road and need a quick caffeine fix. This Derry location like other stores offers drive-thru service with two windows 1) Order & pay first and 2) Pick-up drinks/food. There is also an outside walk-up window too. The food and drink offerings here include fresh brewed hot & iced coffee drinks with several flavor options, espresso, lattes, chai, frozen blended drinks, hot chocolate, AJ's Rush energy drinks, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, oatmeal, baked goods, and ground coffee by the pound. The prices here are comparable to Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. They offer specials here such as any baked good is 75 cents after 5PM. The coffee brewed here is strong just the way I like it and has a great flavor and no bitter aftertaste, very similar to the coffee I've enjoyed at Dutch Bros. Coffee (locations on the West Coast). As one of my local Yelp friends mentioned, the coffee here is better than Dunkins. I stopped at the Derry Aroma Joe's recently and got my favorite 20 oz Hazelnut Hot Coffee ($2.50 tax included). There is a small queue of cars in front of me, but the line went quickly and I was in the drive-thru for less than 4 minutes. I will now make this Aroma Joe's a routine coffee stop whenever I'm in the Derry area. read more

A drive-thru coffee shop, nothing more. The simplicity of Aroma Joe's gives the shop a certain elegance and freedom to be focused solely on the drive-thru experience, and it shows in the quality of the food and coffee. I visited here this morning for the third time in the past two months. I was greeted warmly by the staff, and when I asked for a breakfast recommendation, the barista was more than comfortable suggesting the sausage and egg biscuit with pepper jack cheese. The sandwich was wonderfully hot all the way through and just gooey enough to NOT be obnoxious to eat while driving. I believe the words, "Damn, that was good," escaped my mouth when I finished it. Their house blend coffee is excellent -I get it black with no sugar- you can taste the beans and it's not overly acidic or bitter. But the best part of the experience this morning was when the guy at the window was handing me my coffee, I was fumbling around with the old cups in my cup holder trying to make space for the new coffee (yeah, I know...) and the gentlemen nicely offered to throw one of the cups out for me, which I immediately took him up on. It's little things like this that make a big difference for me. The staff here has been positive and kind each time I've visited. I'll be visiting more. read more

I first discovered Aroma Joe's two years ago while visiting my cousin in the White Mountains region. I am so excited that locations are expanding to Southern NH. I go to Aroma Joe's solely for their Rush drinks (their own energy drink, which they mix with various flavors). This is what really sets Aroma Joe's apart from other similarly priced and constructed coffee shops. I flee to Aroma Joe's for Raspberry Rushes as if the drink were a drug. It. Is. So. Yummy. A lot of Aroma Joe's locations do not have inside ordering or dining. The one in Derry has a drive-thru and a walk up window. This keeps the service speedy and accurate. Furthermore, you order face-to-face rather than at a speaker. As much as I love Aroma Joe's, I have to say that the food is mediocre. This is definitely more of a drink place. From what I can deduct, the food is all frozen and reheated. However, the drinks always seem fresh and are of course made to order. In conclusion: go to Aroma Joe's for yummy drinks and quick service. Don't expect to hang out inside (because there isn't an inside). It's ultimately a great place to grab a coffee or an energy drink on the go! read more

i ordered 2 drinks through the walk up and was standing out there for about 20 minutes till i got my drinks. to add on to that one of them was sitting there for 10 minutes before they made the other one so it was very watered down. staff didn't apologize for the long wait either. read more

Love coming here. The employees are always super friendly and energetic every day, the coffees and teas are the best tasting in the world in my opinion, a menu that's always adding new items, 50 Torani syrup flavors, metal straws sold here plus free stickers upon request. I have been here a few times and it has always just been alright. I got a bagel and an iced hazelnut and caramel coffee and it was not very good. The bagel was literally thrown in the bag without a wrapper and since it was a drive through I expected the cream cheese on it but that wasn't the case. The bagel wasn't very high quality which was disappointing. The "coffee" I got I had to throw away. It tasted like water and cream. I had a friend try it as well and agreed that the coffee was missing. The staff is always kind and I like all of their options but I was disappointed with the product. read more

If i'm being completely honest, whoever the manager or owner is, is driving this place into the ground. First, the breakfast sandwiches are always way too hot and powdery, not to mention they have little to no flavor since they are all frozen (along with all their other breakfasts/ snacks). Second, the coffees seem to never be flavorful or sweet enough, and quite honestly I would rather stick to the coffee I make at home. The teas do not offer fresh lemon, but instead only offer lemon torani (flavor syrup), which just isn't the same. The staff has gone very down hill since I first started going here, all of them seem to be too caught up in their phones or other conversations to even bother taking my order, and when they do get around to taking orders, most of them seem like they just don't want to be there, kind of disappointing. On the bright side, they do offer rushes with many many many amazing flavors to choose from, and I have not had a gross one yet, but they do seem to really upset my stomach after a few sips which is a shame. Overall, I think this place just needs all new staff and managers who are willing to work, maybe try some new food options, and it is definitely a bit overpriced for what you are getting. read more
