I've said it once, and I'll say it again... all Starbuck's are NOT created equally! Driving through the Grapevine from LA, I was immediately grabbed when I saw the Starbuck's Goddess logo on the roadside. It was lunch time, and I had been deprived of frappes for 3 days while in Disneyland (the land of no frappes). We pulled off - and the family hit In-N-Out burger while I held out for an egg salad sammy & a carmel frappe. I was so excited. This is a particularly busy Starbucks, maybe because it's in the middle of what seems to be nowhere, and other weary travelers are also lured in by the thought of a great pick-me-up on a long drive. Overall: - The line was very long - They had no egg salad sammys - They were out of sleeves, salt, small straws & most foods - Their frappe was a total let down. Too much ice & not enough ingredients. Then it was overmixed, so turned soupy. - There is a drive through - which I think is cool Also, they do something here I haven't seen before. They actually print out a sticker for your cup which contains your name & order. I think that's kind of cool - as the marker on the cup method seems to lack a little bit for accuracy. I believe that all Starbucks are created equal. Or at least should be. Same drinks, food items and decor. THIS ONE particular Starbucks stands out as how not to run a store. In a nutshell this was the experience: * Service was too slow. The staff number was there but no one was stepping up to alleviate the long lines reaching out the door. * The AC was busted. This SBUX is at the entrance of the San Joaquin Valley. Its always freakin' hot in the valley like 10 out of the 12 months! * Flies everywhere. Just gross. * The service was friendly tho. Ill admit they were troopers putting on a smile under the circumstances. Management needed to step up and at least apologize for the wait and the busted AC. Overall: Starbucks is available like every 10 feet in America. If this one doesn't get its act together...there'll be one less. Good luck team SBUX. read more

Came by for coffee the other day before heading up the grapevine. The line was ~10 people long mid afternoon on a weekday. There were a half dozen Starbucks partners trying to help out the line inside the coffee shop and the drive through. Sausage Pastry was sold out... Latte was decent but tasted slightly burnt...typical of Starbucks? ...service was okay... Their chocolate croissant was decent as it's now supplied by Le Boulange, one of Starbucks' latest acquisitions. read more

They need to expand or open another nearby. The drive-thru line wasn't bad, I've seen much worse.. but - it took forever to get through the short line & get our drinks. On top of that, the guy taking our orders couldn't hear or understand us. He got our order wrong and replied, I think we are out of that. You think? It's your job to know the menu & know what you do or do not have. After backing up & trying to clarify if he had heard the last part of our order to no avail, I gave up and went inside. The line was 20 people deep. I stood there for a few minutes & it didn't move. A couple lined up behind me and started discussing what they were going to order. One of them mentioned the drink the barista had told me he thought they were out of. I thought about warning them but just wished them luck. Maybe they will get a barista that knows the menu. Easy on and off the freeway. Smallish store with Tesla supercharges out back. No, it's not the biggest, or the fastest I've ever been to, but so what. They did run out of half and half, which was a first for me at a 'Bucks but they managed to find something else. This is a traveler's joint and rightly so. Good location, right before entering mountain area on I5 to LA. Always lines inside the store; not surprised since my friend told me that this is the top 3 sales store in California. Luckily, I only spent 10 min to get my drink, not too bad. The line is actually long, but the workers are pretty efficient. One bad thing is only few sittings with power outlets. If you stop by to get a seat and charge your 3C device, this may not a good option. read more

Service was slow and the woman at the drive up window handed me my coffee and her finger area was full of little cuts from biting her nails and the area around it until it bleeds. Needless to say we were grossed out she had her hands on the cup with open little cuts all over. In our opinion, she should have food service gloves on. Also when we mentioned the drink was suppose to be iced, we got the nastiest look and she literally grabbed it back, said nothing and walked away. So after coming down the Grapevine, we exit right away and hit a Starbucks to offer up our money to the Java gods. In return, they gave of cups of joy that would keep us awake for hours and also added to my ability to urinate. A pleasure. This SB is a little small and always busy. Drive-thru, counter, outside...it seems like a mad house of people going to the bathroom, waiting for drinks, and taking a break from a long drive. Be ready for that. Word of advice, if you just need your Starbucks and are on a long drive: Stop here, exit your vehicle, and wait for the masses to get their drinks and then BAMN, get inline when the "foaming at the mouth SB types" have their drinks in hand. The positives of this starbucks are the clean bathrooms, air-conditioned inside, and there is an employee inside assisting the line by taking your drink order while you wait. By the time you reach the register to pay for your drink, it will be ready in about 5 minutes. Not bad considering how many customers are crowding this road-stop starbucks. While this starbucks is making the most of their undersized shop for the mass volume of customers they get everyday, they should consider expanding. Bottom line: Packed. read more

When I go for coffee what matters to me most is taste, how hot (or cold) the coffee is, and speed (time I get my coffee). Everything else is secondary. With that being said I give this Starbucks location 3.5 stars . That is good considering it was during the holidays. It's also important to note that this is a popular rest stop/exit for travelers so it can be super busy. I decided to go inside because the drive-thru line was super long. I stood in line for only a few minutes. The girl took my order - one shot of espresso and a grande praline latte. Service was average. A few minutes later (less than 5 minutes) my drinks came out. The espresso shot was hot but too small. My latte was perfect - taste and temperature! Last comment - the place was somewhat messy with trash on the floor. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and attribute to how busy it gets for the holidays. My bigger hang up would be how much Starbucks have raised their prices. It's ridiculous. Lebec is clearly the most happening place in California, since this place has more people than any coffee shop, boba shop, or bar I have ever seen in my life. ...That might be a slight exaggeration, except not really. Situated right in Lebec, which is near Tejon and right before the Grapevine on the way to LA (or after on the way to NorCal), this place is an absolute feeding ground for thirsty and tired travelers. The line wasn't too long; I waited probably 10 minutes. What was long was the wait to get my green tea latte! It took 20-30 minutes total, and the waiting area was absolutely filled with people. But hey, I can't really fault the baristas. They were working their tails off. I can probably fault Starbucks management here for not hiring more employees or allocating more space, if needed, but I guess that's logistically difficult. I mean, you will get your drink, but it'll take a while and you'll be slightly uncomfortable waiting. If that isn't a 3-star Starbucks experience, I don't know what is. So the next time you're in Lebec, and I anticipate that will be very soon since it's LIT as the kids like to say, then keep in mind that you'll be adding some time to your drive! read more

Super Starbucks Fan here! We always stop by this busy and popular location while on our I-5 round-trip drive between the Bay Area and SoCal. The team here really kicks butt! Seriously, this is the holiday season and the place was jam-packed with the line out the door. I thought about walking out to wait the additional 22-mile drive north to the next Starbucks but decided to take in consideration the amount of traffic flow that the staff has to deal with. Although the line appeared a mile long, the wait was only minutes! And they made my drink right! Kudos to the employees here for their hard work and efforts to keep the constant flow of emotionally-charged customers/drivers coming off of that unforgiving stretch of I-5. read more

I hear her arguing drinks with the customer in front of me telling him what he ordered and how it is his mistake, and as I order she lets me know my drink order is not healthy but "fine" she'll put it through anyway. They have large bathrooms that stay pretty clean and they're open late! However the lines can get pretty long but they go pretty quick. I always go to this Starbucks to get something to drink and use the facilities when I'm on a long drive. Nice being able to get out of your car without having to go to a shady rest stop. The location is right next to a ton of fast food options and gas so you can fill up and eat without having to search! You'll thank me later. You're welcome. read more

The big girl with the red hair that works the drive through has the worst customer service worker I've ever encountered, she messed up my drink which was fine since I wasn't in a rush, but she immediately got attitude and told me it was my fault, I told her it was fine I can wait for the larger size I originally ordered, her attitude was horrible she didn't even say your welcome when I told her thank you when she gave me my drink she just slammed the window shut, I stop here three times a week on my way to LA for work and I won't be stopping here anymore. read more

8:40 pm I arrived at this Starbucks.. Hours of operation is till 10 pm. I pre ordered my drinks but doors closed. Drive they was opened so there were workers inside. I tried knocking on the door but you can totally tell that they were ignoring me. Multiple people were also trying to go inside. After multiple times of trying to get their attention the lady said I have to pick it up at drive thru. So I had to walk up to their drive thru window just to pick up drinks. I'm not sure why they were closed early but I found it rude and inconvenient. This is one of my favorite location every time we drive from San Francisco to San Diego. I ordered on the app and chose the wrong store as there are two within a mile. I have seen this happen at other stores and the store the customer was in honors it. The first gal I asked to confirm I had made the error and she looked at me stupidly. This is definitely not my home Starbucks. Disappointed that I ordered a mobile order at 9 pm, store closes at 10, drive thru was a mile long so I ordered in store pick up. At designated time went to retrieve my drink and all the doors are locked. Barista will not approach the door so now I must go through drive thru. App has the ability to limit to drive thru only. Avoid going to this location. Girl at the drive-thru window with "cash" on her apron (couldn't see her name tag) is super unprofessional. She ran my card wrong and yelled out of the window "Can I see the card again it says declined". She swiped the same card and the payment went through. I guess this is a pretty popular rest stop, because both times that I've been here, there has been a pretty long line, and I was there at non-peak hours...but I guess everyone needs their fix and if this place wasn't good enough, then there would be no lines to wait in. The girl told me "no...she hadn't seen my name" while sort of looking. 8 more minutes went by and I asked again because now it had been 18 minutes since the order ready time. Same girl...she finds our name right there where I asked her to look the first time. Then she says they are cold and she needs to remake them. NO! A refund would have been nice. Ordered through app so my drink was ready. Went to go into the store and the inside is closed at 7:20 am in the morning. There's a note on the door telling you to go through the drive through to pick up your online order! Really! Why do I want to now wait with 10 other cars and their orders to pick up my coffee. Weekends are packed, but they do have larger bathrooms available. They offer a fair amount of food choices and always seems to have enough for being so busy. They have indoor and outdoor seating with free WiFi. They also have a drive thru. I read the reviews about the gnats but this was the first Starbucks we came across since leaving Paso Robles. I needed some caffeine! Check out the video. I was like WOW! To be fair, the gnats might be a climate/weather issue. At least that was the issue at one of the wineries in Paso Robles. They said the gnats were everywhere and there was nothing they could do.
