Flying J Travel Center, Lebec

I stopped here for a bit to use the restroom. The Flying J Travel Center has everything you need for the road and more. I got some snacks and a cup of coffee. The restroom was decently clean. Service was friendly. [Review 21042 overall - 549 in California - 5 of 2024.]

This is the cheapest gas in the area. If your gas light is on and you are going down the 5 and it's been hours since you left Castaic behind and you are super freaking out about gas, first you'll see the gas stations in Gorman, and you will be tempted to stop. Because you need gas and probably a potty break. But trust me... You can wait until Frazier Mountain Rd. It's only like 2 more miles and most of it is downhill. You can coast on fumes and hold out for Flying J. Because it's cheap, big, and clean. We walked in to find the restroom and my daughter looks around and says, "Why is there like... everything.... here? What kind of gas station is this?" "Well, it's a rest stop. Not just a gas station. It's supposed to be a place to rejuvenate." "They've succeeded," she said.. I agree. They have their Wendy's, some decent seating, spacious shopping, clean bathrooms, and even a decent selection of last minute snow play accessories. Stop at Flying J. You'll be pleased.

Wings and Pizza - The image displays two fried chicken wings on a white paper-lined tray, alongside a slice of pizza with toppings such as black olives, green peppers, and melted cheese. The pizza crust appears golden and slightly thick, with visible toppings and cheese. The chicken wings are crispy and browned, placed on a separate section of the tray.

After spending a day riding the motorcycle over the mountains and across the desert I was hoping for an old school truck stop with a driver's lounge and sit-down restaurant. Sadly they are disappearing. This updated version of a truck stop was still a welcome sight. I tried the pizza and wings from their PJ Fresh food kiosk. The wings were about like you'd expect. Breaded, frozen, heated up, and sitting under a heat lamp. The pizza... meh. There was a Wendy's there too, but I wasn't in the mood that day. After I ate I noticed the display full of fresh sandwiches, salads, and fruits. I guess I had walked right by them, but I wish I had seen them sooner. I would have picked my meal from there for sure. There were plenty of drinks to choose from, a row or two of trucker's necessities, a few rows of snacks and other convenience store items. Restrooms were roomy enough and clean.

The email I got after trying to put gas. Now my card is canceled and I have to wait for another card. Such a major inconvenience,

When I first moved up here (8 years ago) I put gas here and immediately got my bank card scammed. Thankfully my bank reimbursed all the fraud. Today 9/22 I went to put gas and after putting in my card and going through the "credit" then "zip code" It said "See Cashier" - I couldn't leave my car to go inside so I went to the Chevron. While there I got a fraud alert from the bank that Pilot (Flying J) tried to charge $500 to my card! I marked it as fraud and my bank card was immediately closed and they said they would send a new card. Luckily I had enough gas and didn't need the card but this is still a big inconvenience. I now have to update my new card info with all the automatic payments. I'm not going back to this place. It's not worth the trouble!

Storefront - The image depicts a parking lot in front of a Flying J gas station and Wendy's restaurant, with multiple vehicles including trucks and cars parked. The Wendy's building features a modern design with large windows, and the Flying J sign is visible on the gas station canopy. Mountains are seen in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

I would say this is a nice truck stop /car stop / mini Mart / gas station. Although ludicrously high, fuel prices here were average for the area. Bathroom was clean. Poor selection of canned beverages. Service was fast and very friendly. Even though we are technically out of the covid-19 restrictions, I would appreciate it if employees in places that serve this many travelers war masks.

I stopped here on the way to the Harris Beef Ranch Hotel. The gas is of a fair price and they also have a Wendy's here, my wife and I both had something to eat there. This place has a very large store with many different items. This place is mainly for the Semi Truck drivers, but lucky they also cater to the automobiles. This place has showers available. This place also sells a large selection of electronics and you can buy a CB and then chat with the Long Haul truck drivers.

Great price on gas when we came here 12/08/19 $3.09 a gal unleaded. Came in the store to see if they had windshield wiper fluid, Chad was very friendly and helpful finding the last bottle on the shelf. The store is bright, clean and very inviting. They offer a Wendy's, an express Dunkin' Donuts which is a self serve. The women's bathroom was very clean and fully stocked. We decided this turnoff location will be our new lunch spot and gas fill up. At this turnoff there is also a Jack in the box.

This Flying J is a little world into itself! I stopped here many times during the years either while we were coming from up north back to LA or going in and out of Frazier Park area! It's always a solid place where you can gas up, use the restrooms, buy a movie, some food, walk around! Since my last stop it got renovated, bigger, better with nice, clean restrooms, a Wendy's, a Dunkin Donuts (tempting), great food and drinks selection. And other items you might need on the road or at your destinations. Flying J is a great place to stop, relax, shop, grab a bite!

Pulled in. Pumped gas. My only complaint is I can't get a receipt at the pump at least 50% of the time.

Ask the Community - Flying J

Haven't been there in over 20 years... Do they still have the diner with a buffet option or is it all fast food or chain restaurants?

No more buffets (true truck stop food is getting hard to find anymore) They upgraded with the PJ Fresh items, pizza etc plus a food place, although I'm not sure which one. The cool truckers lounge with those old ridge route pictures is gone. sob.

Can i fill my fresh water tank here?

Yes and dump

The parking lot is filthy--debris everywhere, zero sense of order, and an overall vibe that says "abandoned rest stop after the rapture." The portable restrooms are overflowing in a way that should require a hazmat suit and a permission slip. Knock knock... guess who? Yes, it's the smell. And it is not subtle. Now for the chargers themselves. A generous portion of them are non-functioning, which is extra fun when you've already committed to stopping here. Nothing quite like rolling in on low charge and playing musical stalls while wondering if you're about to become part of the landscape. That said--and this is the only reason this place escapes a full scorched-earth zero--the chargers that do work are lightning fast. When electrons finally flow, they absolutely hustle. Credit where it's due: the tech is solid, even if everything around it looks like it's circling the drain. Bottom line: this Supercharger has all the charm of a third-world construction zone with the reliability to match. Fix the broken stalls, clean the lot, and for the love of all things silicon, deal with the bathrooms. Until then, this is less "road trip recharge" and more "survival checkpoint." Until next time...

She then went inside the store to inform them their gas pump is broken and to get help. Some younger worker tried to help but eventually went to get some bald older man worker with an ugly mustache named Trey. My mom asked him where she could file a report for the incident and what number she could call and not only did he refuse to give it to her he was also extremely rude and told her that he should actually be telling her to leave. She eventually just told them that they should put caution tape or some sort of note to inform people and they just told her to leave and that they called the cops on her because she was informing other people the gas pump was not working. My mom did nothing but try to pump her gas, get uncontrollably sprayed by gas, ask for help, and she proceeded to get treated extremely rudely. Mind you several of the pumps already were out of order and there was gas all over the floor of the pump we used indicating this most likely happened before it happened to us. This place sucks and all the workers are absolutely no help and extremely disrespectful and rude.
