Waiting for someone to acknowledge me

If you know then you know grabbing STARBS is a must! Well after running errands decided to stop at this one. It's pretty packed on the inside. I didn't want to go through the drive through. Walked in. Wasn't greeted. There were 2 people standing off to the side looked like it could have been a manger and district manager just carrying on in their conversation. There were 3 girls literally at the register. Not ONE greeted me. So i continue to wait. One clocked out. The other rang up her stuff. Still no acknowledgment. No "I'll be with you in a moment" NOTHING. One girl was at the oven wouldn't even turn around. MIND YOU the possibly manager and district manager still over in conversation. I'm looking around like dang so NOBODY is going to say anything. I snapped this one picture and left! You don't ever have to worry about me patronizing THIS specific location! Customer service is BIG for me! I'll take my talents to another location!

Drink orders get messed up on occasion; that's to be expected. However, as much as I go to Starbucks; it seldom happens. Today there was a mix up. I went to the drive through and ordered my usual (decaf in the afternoon) Vente Hot Carmel Macchiato substitute vanilla for sugar free vanilla. I took the drink without looking or tasting as I was going to pick up my papusas at 3 in 1 (see my review for 3 in 1 - I love their food). As I was heading home I took a sip and I thought it was - Not Good...I looked at the sticker and they fixed me an Americano with SF vanilla. I don't think Americano and Macchiato sound that similar but perhaps? I had already driven about a half mile before I discovered the mistake; I turned around and went back. I opted to go inside because the drive thru had about 6 cars. I should have gone through the drive through. It took them about 15 minutes to fix the drink I ordered but they did so without question. So; the loss of one star is for the the time it took them to make a replacement drink; all of the cars that had been in line were long gone with many more cars as well. I took a couple pictures inside - it's a newer store and it's really spacious and beautiful inside.

This is my local Star ucks and I'm happy to report that it is one of the better ones in Central Indiana. It's located in a strip mall so there's no drive-thru which I think makes it better. It's more intimate and you get your order much faster than at Starbucks that have drive-thru (I always order at the counter). The seating area is very comfortable and not too bright. I would say the vibe is more like the coffee shops of old where you sit and enjoy your cup o' Joe while reading a newspaper (rather than today's Starbucks where people are working on their laptops or having business meetings).

I ordered in advance for my wife to get her Venti Iced Apple Crisp Macchiato before work. When she arrived, the drive thru and lobby were packed (to be expected early in the morning). Her order was ready, but her drink was made wrong and they were too busy for her to ask for them to add the missing components. Plus, she was on her way to work. The drink only had the cold foam she asked for but no drizzle, they were out of blonde shots, almond milk, and oat milk. The drink also did not contain the pumps of apple spice flavoring they were supposed to have. Needless to say, I heard a mouth full about the drink. I know they can't always control the amount of orders, but they can be sure they are serving the drinks accurately, especially for the price many of us pay.

Fun Fact: The Oprah Chai (in it's Tall version) has only 150 calories. I can't account for the sugar content at moment and quite frankly, I'd rather not know but I will say this particular Chai offers a healthy dose of caffeine kick and spice. I giggled at first when I heard Oprah had her own bebida at Starbucks...but now, now, dear reader, I laugh no more. In true Oprah fashion, she means business. As for this particular location: the barista was exceptionally friendly and the space was clean. The natural light would make for a great work/meeting space.

Happy happy staff here! Perfect Carmel Mocha frappuccino! Family friendly and comfy couches. Outside seating with umbrellas under the awnings. Nice merchandise selection and of course free wifi!

I chose a croissant which was fluffy, flakey and buttery as all croissants should be. I ordered the $5 SPANISH LATTE consisting of Espresso, Sweet Condensed Milk, Cinnamon & Steamed Milk. So good! My friend had the $6 MAYAN MOCHA made with Dark Chocolate, Honey, Cinnamon, & Cayenne. Also well received. The gorgeous building appears to be an old bank with the original vault converted into a smaller room with eclectic decor. I recommend going on a weekday.

It is a bit challenging to find parking but there are a few spots in front. I parked down the street and walked which is always an option. It can be quite loud so keep that in mind if you want a quieter reflection time, and maybe take it to go or sit outside. They have various food items but I absolutely LOVE their peanut butter energy balls! In fact that is why I came to this location as this is where the magic happens. They make them here and send them to other Tinker locations! They are the perfect blend of savory and a tad sweet and go super well with their coffee and/or London Fog tea. Yum! I will freely admit to buying all they had on hand, and now can enjoy them at home. Yay! It is a very busy spot so not the friendliest of staff, but assumed they were already hassled from the morning. It was a great spot to meet a friend and enjoy the patio and some tea/coffee. That aftertaste that hits the back part of the palate. The Pork Tonkatsu Omurice combo: presentation was great, the sauce wasn't overwhelming and actually made everything good. The menu is overwhelming, but everything we had was great and very filling. Definitely will come back. Service was attentive but not intruding. It's also great to have a call button in the huts. Kyuramen is that type of place, though. It's said that first impressions count, and if you want to visit a restaurant that makes a great first impression, this is the place. It's hard to describe the decor, but I'll try. There's a big, fake wooden tree in the middle of the restaurant. All around the tree are cozy, intimate booth pods that look like little huts. There's also seating that looks like a honeycomb, with more intimate booths, and an upstairs, if you wanted to sit a little higher. Tables are in the middle of the room, and there is bar seating, as well. There's a robot server that glides around the room, although, I never did interact with it. Booth seating was procured, because I love to feel nestled in a cozy space. The menu is large, as there was not one menu but four different menus: the regular menu, the specials, the milk tea / boba menu, the sake / alcohol menu. It can be a little overwhelming if you've never been here, or if you've never had ramen, because there are so many options. Luckily, the menu has lots of photos and descriptions. Or! Visit with someone who has had ramen and has opinions about ramen. Or! Ask the servers. They are very friendly and helpful. I got the Combo A1, which is Tokyo tonkotsu shoyu ramen, plus a pork bao, and a matcha and red bean pudding for dessert. The ramen was good but not my favorite, and I think I'll order a spicy ramen next time. The bao was amazing -- so fatty and meaty, and it was probably the largest bao bun that I've ever seen, let alone ate! The matcha pudding was the perfect ending to the meal, and came with a delicate mini pitcher of cream to pour over the pudding. I also got to try the tempura shrimp, and I think that's what I'll be getting next time! This might have been the best tempura shrimp I've ever eaten. The batter was perfect and crispy, and somehow melted in my mouth. I might need to revisit just to get tempura. They have a nice selection of sake here. They got your cold sake, hot sake, jelly sake, cloudy sake and even sparkling sake. What's a girl to do? Order the sake! I was eating a hot bowl of ramen, so I opted for the cold sake, which was nice and refreshing. This is such a chill place to have a bowl of ramen or a Japanese snack. The private booths make this place the perfect spot for an intimate meal, but it's also a great space for groups because they also have table seating.

I also ordered a lemon mint refresher, but they were out of mint so it would just be a lemonade. That was fine and I appreciated how she handled the situation and that she knew what Prufrock did and did not have in stock! She was great at communicating when I walked in that she needed a few minutes and then would be able to help me too. Another time I went with my parents on a late morning Saturday. My mom and I both loved our drinks, but we knew what to order. There were multiple people working behind the counter, but the barista taking orders was not friendly or very helpful on this particular day. My dad did not know what to order and asked what tea is refreshing and is one that the barista would recommend. The barista said that the green tea is really popular, but did not ask whether he wanted it hot or iced or give a recommendation for that. The tea came out hot on a hot day where we planning to walk the Monon and check out other local businesses. To be fair, I did ask him if he wanted me to ask for the drink to be remade or to get him a new one as I had overheard his order and also assumed it would be coming out iced. He said it was fine (but then complained on our walk). This was a bit disappointing. There have been times I have walked out after a few minutes of no acknowledgement from baristas here. It is not a cafe that I would want to sit in and work in as a lot of the space does not look workable. The last time I did come in with papers I planned to read in between appointments, I did not want to put my bag on the floor or my papers on a table because both were dirty. The book page wall has seen better days and would benefit from a revamp. I love the outdoor area though and the can tops are really cool. There is a lot of potential here, but when staff appears like they do not want to be there it makes customers not want to be there either. I would also urge the owners to be more receptive to criticism. The TikTok videos about Prufrock did not influence my review, but it did encourage me to leave my own review based on my own experiences.
