I visit a lot of Starbucks locations and this is one of the best. I'd been having trouble finding our favorite coffee we brew at home. Checked at 3-4 different stores and for the most part they didn't even realize they were out of "Gold Coast". (apparently there is an issue getting this flavor from the factory) The employees went out of their way to track some down for me. They found a 5lb bulk bag, opened it, found some empty 1lb bags and divided it up. All while being extremely friendly insisting it was no problem. They also made me a great Latte. Rare to find this level of customers service today. My hats off to the afternoon crew working at Starbucks in Hercules on 8-17-2013! THANKS!!! read more

Why the hell does it take 15 freakin minutes to get a piece of cake, a water, and an iced coffee with 5 people working and no one in line at either the drive through or inside? It's because some of their employees care more about socializing than working. I come here about 4 times a month. They do a great job with the 7-8 morning weekday rush but many of their staff are just apathetic which translates into poor service skills. I'm sorry but your barista job does not equate to cool anymore now that Starbucks is no longer a hip establishment and is just a glorified McDonald's of coffee! Get over yourself read more

The ONLY reason I come to this Starbucks is when I have to go to the bank next door. I decided to come in one morning after making a deposit and walked right up to the cash register since there was no line but I waited until the barista's were done talking about their personal life for them to finally take my drink order. I know they saw me walk in but that didn't stop the barista's from actually stopping the conversation to take the customers order. Talk about lack of customer service. I ordered a tall caramel macchiato with soy and my coffee came out tasting like sugar. Just pure sugar! Gross! If I wanted sugar then I would have bought some from the grocery store. After this experience now I remember I go elsewhere for my coffee. I never want to waste my time or spend another dollar here. read more

Just witnessed the staff chatting it up with each other for 15 minutes straight. Took orders and made drinks but never engaged waiting customers with any "how's your day going?" Or "weather is great today...what are your plans?" But we're very engaged in each other and the barista even stopped making drinks a few times to approach the cashier and finish her story while customers waited. I usually go to Peet's but a coworker had given me a Starbucks gift card so I thought I'd come...I'll be going back Peet's. Enjoyed the drink and the coffee cake. read more

This Starbucks is the best in the Hercules/Rodeo area. I went in yesterday and got a Iced Carmel Macchiato ERIC HAS OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I wanted to send some kudos Jade's way! She was practically running the show by herself the day I ate lunch at this Starbucks. Yet, she found the time to bring our lunches out to our table, complete with silverware, napkins... the works. She even timed up the heating of two of the sausage bagels for my co-worker so the second one would not get cold! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER Service! Walked inside 09/14/18 around 10am & both these girls looked like they weren't having it. The lady that took my order looked like she didn't want to help me and ended up getting my order wrong seems like they did not acknowledge what I need. Every morning I get a Grande blond roast coffee at Starbucks. It is my wake up call. I usually get my coffee at the Starbucks at Embarcadero in San Francisco or the Starbucks on Pinole Valley Road in Pinole but some reason whenever I get my blond roast coffee at the Starbucks in Hercules (my home) it is terrible. It is either lukewarm or full of coffee grains. I'm not sure why but that store never makes decent coffee. read more

I love Starbucks. I don't drink coffee too often. But when I do, it's normally some kind of frap, latte, or mocha. I had my first ever Pumpkin Spice Latte and it was pretty good! I do wish it was a little more "pumpkiny" but overall it was good. Not too sweet, just as I asked. And definitely no overwhelming coffee taste. The worker was one of the nicest worker I've ever encountered. Thanks so much! Your kindness made my night a great one. Lots of people go there to study and read. Looks like a good place to come after work or school to either do homework or relax. Will definitely go more often to do so. read more

I come in about twice a week. I will be finding a new one to go to. The baristas here are extremely rude. I'm not here for just my coffee, I'm here to wake myself up and when the first human interaction I have for the day is a barista rolling her eyes because I asked her a question, I get in a bad mood which effects the other human interactions I have that morning. I often stop at this location to refuel and re-caffeinate before seeing my family. UGG. This little shopping center also has a gas station, so I can refuel my car too. The store is a smaller one. The bathroom is always clean. The staff is nice, and they move really fast. I've never had to wait a long time here, but that's probably because it's in Hercules, which isn't a hot bed of excitement. I love Starbucks. Especially right now during the Holidays they have their limited edition holiday flavors and they are delicious. I always get the creme brulee latte and its on point. You get your beverage fast and its always tasty and never watered down or too overpowering with syrups or flavorings. It's what you want when it's cold outside and I wouldn't want to go any place else. My experience was less than stellar, the young woman who took my order, after performing numerous other tasks, took the cup and lined it up for the barista to make the drink. Several minutes later two other customers entered, she took their order and placed their cups ahead of my cup. I questioned why the drinks were being made out of order, the two women pretended to not have noticed the mistake (the person who took the order actually gave me a long hard stare) - very unprofessional and very disappointing. read more

If you like any type of coffee drink, you can usually find at least 2 Starbucks locations nearby. This one is so close that I can drive or walk to it. I usually get a frappuccino. What's great about this location it's right next to Jack in the Box, Kinder's, and Extreme Pizza. Three great places to eat while getting your caffeine boost from Starbucks. Oh how I love Starbucks. This is my favorite location because I've had so many good times here spent with my wonderful friends. Even though I don't live in Hercules anymore, I still come here to meet up with my friends when Im in the area. Through the years, I've experienced good service with all the staff past and present. My recent visit I noticed they remodeled the inside, which was more modern. It opened up the place a little more so it looks lot bigger. I made this recent visit with a bunch of my girls after we all had brunch, we all were able to order our drinks and sat together to catch up. Once again, staff was friendly but a little slow due to many customers. Maybe they need to have more members working on the weekends since most people are off??? Although my white chocolate mocha, wasn 't made the way I'm used to, I still enjoy Starbucks with my homies. read more

How can I not write a review of this place. When this place first opened up it was a little hang out spot for me and a couple of my friends, after work hours. 5pm-10pm (close) we would enjoy sitting outside with our drinks and just hang out. The staff at that time was pretty awesome. Greeted us every time and knew exactly what our drinks were for all 20+ of us. Everyone knew who we were. Til this day I would not be surprised if my friends are getting the same kind of treatment they did "X" years ago. I had some great times here at this location.. including exchange of xmas gifts.. This Starbucks is in a convenient location and has consistently great tasting coffee. The staff is always friendly and service is fast. Although the Starbucks in Rodeo is closer to me, I prefer this one hands down. I remember I purchased a caramel macchiato from the Starbucks in nearby Rodeo on Willow Avenue and it was horrible - watery and burnt beyond recognition. I gave them two chances to remake the coffee before I finally brought the coffee to this Starbucks in Hercules. They happily remade the coffee for me and it was heaven! read more

I went to this Starbucks today to do my own little secret shop. I really liked what I saw. The store and bathroom were clean. The service was great and I loved my smores mini. I have recently taken a liking to their Keurig cups and picked up some of those too. While I was there watching, I noticed that the customers and staff actually know each other and the customers are treated like family. This is how every Starbucks SHOULD be. I have recently shopped other Starbucks stores in the area and have been very disappointed. This is my favorite Starbucks in the area. Every time I come all of the baristas are very friendly and efficient. Clean store and has everything I need to buy. If you want to go to get a good cup of coffee, COME HERE! Way better than the one on willow. The other day the guy who was ringing me up was so nice, they were out of a certain type of coffee. Got a tall coffee and Joe was the barista . He obviously knows how to make the drinks but when he calls out for the owner of the drink, he mumbles under his breath and I watched about everyone who walked in the store , literally had to go and check the label on their drinks to see if it was their request. My wife's coffee didn't even have the correct label on it so I was waiting on line for several minutes before someone else actually told me that it was our drink. Poor service. Have someone who actually cares about what they are doing and realizes that customers hot coffee is important. read more

Horrible service. I was insulted and humiliated. I asked for something I had seen a friend order at another Starbucks.. called Skinny girl latte. Whether or not this is the correct name is besides the point. I was helped by a young short asian woman with quite rotted teeth. She was able to get me a non fat latte or something. But what happened next was shocking. I waited for my date who was late. The girl with the bad teeth started making fun of my and kept saying 'skinny girl latte' and pointing at me.. and jabbing at the other coworker. She thought it was very funny that I had made a mistake. She made shyre she was loud enough for me an everyone to hear her. This went on for 10 minutes. I would have left if I was not meeting someone. It was so bad, I don't even feel ashamed pointing out her unappealing lack of dental hygiene. Customers should be treated with respect and in a friendly manner. I am telling every I know to avoid this place til they train the workers in respect.
