Was asked to leave despite the fact the person I was with had ordered a drink and sandwich and I didn't. I was just sitting there on my phone not talking or disturbing anyone yet I was singled out. So I guess one person ordering is not good enough. I went there 3 times with no issue but I did have coffee. It's very busy here on weekends! Every time I come it's typically a Saturday morning and drinks take about 10-15 mins. But they make the drinks AHMAZINGGGG!! The condiments counter is immediately inside the door and it's always dirty and disgusting. The combination of unfriendly staff and a dirty store tells me that the management is sub-par. It's a comfortable spot. I do really like the upstairs area. This can be relaxing, although my goodness it can be busy. Also the parking is difficult. A lot of non drivers. Thankfully a very nice staff here. These men and women have my complete respect. I honestly don't know how they deal with the masses. Starbucks Christmas blend is delicious. So miss the Rift Valley though. As for their other coffees average. There's a burnt taste I'm not thrilled with. It works for a caffeine pick up though. All of us are addicts. Interesting location with the most random set up known to Starbucks land. A two level location with the baristas on the lower level with barely any seating and the upper level looks big from below but it's a small offering of tables and a few couches. The store felt like the cold air was trapped in the store which was a tad bit odd but I'll attribute that to there being entrances on both levels. My drink was okay despite repeating my request twice and even having it repeated back to me, it was still made sans non fat milk. Yet I was not the only customer whose drink was incorrectly assembled as the gentleman's drink ahead of mine contained an extra shot lol. All in all, service was ok, tad bit ow so this may not be the location to drop into if you are in a rush as the mobile orders had to wait just as long. I did notice they have a designated spot for delivery drivers to pick up orders. read more

I went to this location early in February to get me a tall white mocha hot. this is a $5 and change coffee. I payed at the window and didn't get my receipt my choice. I few days later I was looking at my bank statement and realized that I was charged $85 and change for my coffee. i went to the store to get a refund and they pull out the receipt and they tipped themselves $80. I say them because did tip them $80. they gave me number to call I called and they basically told me I needed to deal with my bank and of course my bank is not going to give me my $80 back. I'm angry at Starbucks my son eats breakfast there at least twice a week but I don't want to give them my hard earned money just like that. I love starbucks but this is the ONLY location I personally avoid. I never had any pleasant experience here, starting from drink taste to customer service. The most memorable incident was when I placed a mango dragonfruit lemonade refresher a few months ago. That's my go to drink. I normally request extra scoops (6 to be exact) because I like to chew the crunchy freeze-dried dragonfruit pieces. I placed a mobile order a traffic light away and went in the store before the drink was ready. It was pretty slow on that day - no customer was around. I walked in and they didn't see me because the guy employee was busy talking to the girl employee while making my drink. He was scooping dragonfruit inclusion from the jar and re read my custom recipe on the sticker. And casually commented "who orders extra dragonfruit like this? 6 scoops?!?" The girl employee responded "hey if she wants 6, she gets 6." I was there standing all this time. He realized I was there and it was my drink only when he puts the drink on the countertop. His face apparently looks like yikes. I didn't say a word (not worth the time) and took the managers business card from the counter. I gave it a second chance. Ordered a Java chip frap a few days after. It wasn't done well. This review is overdue. I just wanted to put it out here to remind myself and the public to go to the next one down the street. read more

It's Starbucks and everything you would expect from it: highly caffeinated drinks, a nice ambiance, and friendly staff. They have been out of many items recently but maybe that's a national issue. This location has two floors: the bottom where you order, and the top where the more relaxed seating/couches are available. Starbucks, in my opinion, does not have the best coffee. It lacks flavor and shines brightest when concealed by creamers and sweeteners. Seasonal flavors can be fun to try but ultimately, I prefer more nuanced coffee from local shops. Their rewards program is solid and they give you a free drink on your birthday, which is a nice perk. Their online ordering is really easy and their do a good job at cranking out the orders. Overall, it's a solid Starbucks. You probably know what to expect. read more

This must be the slowest Starbucks on the planet. The baristas take like 3-4 minutes *per drink.* I've been hanging out with the same crowd of people for the last 20 minutes while drinks dribble out at a glacial pace. I absolutely do not understand how they can be this slow. We've lived near this Starbucks for a decade, and it was fine until a year ago. From now on, we're going to Du Clieu across the street; or if we really need Starbucks, we'll drive to the one that's ten minutes away. Reiner was extremely rude when I asked for the status of a pink drink i ordered 10 minutes ago. I went to the bathroom, changed my shirt, and even took selfies. I waited another 5 mins before I even asked about my drink, after continuously peering over the counter to check. I watched ppl behind me get their drinks- I wouldn't have even bothered leaving a review had he not took it upon himself to loudly say "oh thats not been called yet" AFTER I asked a different barista about my drink. Not once did I ask him, but she saved the day and made the drink that has 2 things in it in 30 seconds. It was unnecessary, and he was very obviously trying to cause friction. Had better experiences at this store..I don't think I will be returning. I went to pick up my mobile order and I found my drink a third full. I thought the store ran out of ingredients. Upon inquiry, it turned out because I ordered no ice, I received the appropriate amount of beverage and I was told that customers are no longer allowed to "cheat the system." I laughed because the amount I received was at most 5 sips. I recently had oral surgery so I've been avoiding ice with my drinks due to teeth sensitivity and I've never run into this issue at other Starbucks locations. I've been a regular Starbucks customer and being called someone who is cheating the system left a bad taste in my mouth. I tossed the drink and went to another Starbucks location where I received a full beverage. Anyway I didn't want to be a Karen at the store so I left some feedback to corporate on how they can improve making customer experience consistent across their stores. WEIRD STARBUCKS. It's disappointing for the Starbucks in downtown Fairfax not to be such a good go-to option. By no fault of their own, they draw a strange clientele that you just have to ignore sometimes. Downstairs, there is one table reserved for handicapped patrons and a bar that you don't want to sit at unless you want to make conversation with some strange randos. There's an upstairs seating area, but it feels far away from where they are calling drinks, and the seats aren't that comfortable. I was in there today and they forgot my drink order. I had to remind them after about 15 minutes (my husband's drink came out right away). It would be better if there could be more downstairs seating or if they brought the ordering area upstairs. read more

This Starbucks location has amazing customer service. Whether it is slow or busy, the employees are always putting their all and it shows. It's amazing how much they are able to get done in such a short period of time. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The employees are always connecting with the customers, and they create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for anyone who enters. What was especially note worthy was how these employees go above and beyond. Today, my boyfriend and I came in to celebrate his 20th Birthday, as we Starbucks is a part of our routine. It was slow when we came in around 2:45 today, and the staff was super helpful in helping us figure out how to order his free birthday drink. We waited patiently for his birthday drink and quickly saw how busy this Starbucks location is. Whether it be mobile orders, in person customers, or guest requests, the staff works incredibly as a team to ensure each customers satisfaction. We received our first drink promptly after ordering it, and were waiting for his birthday drink. It became extremely busy, so we waited a little longer than expected to, visit. I was impressed by the number of drinks produced by these employees in such a short time frame, and we were ultimately extremely satisfied with our experience today. read more

I've been coming to this Starbucks on and off over the years - ever since it was built as part of the City of Fairfax historic downtown makeover/revitalization project. As Kimberly D. has outlined, it's a two story Sbux, with lots of seating on the upper level, and there is an entrance to the upper level from the adjacent sidewalk. Drinks have always been good here, including triple shot soy lattes, triple shot white mocha's, triple shot iced lattes, and whatever else I was in the mood for at the time! I stopped in today for an iced sugar-free vanilla, triple shot latte after surgery on my foot. Hit the spot! I like the upstairs seating area - very cool! Corps typically provide robotic employees who are just there to make money. Understandably so. Starbucks always has robotic employees who have no personality. They arent bad bit don't have the opportunity to thrive. Now to something that changed my perception. Everyday i come into this location. Im greeted by the sweetest lady named Alyssa. She is always sweet and personable. Even when its busy at 8am with everyone grumpy trying to get their coffee fix. She treats each customer with respect and friendliness. Usually this is my go to Starbucks location as MOST of the workers are lovely. However my last experience at this location has me second guessing. As I was picking up my drink a very sour attitude red haired short young lady gave me major attitude when I politely asked for extra of something in my drink and proceeded to give me a HORRID attitude when I paid for extra of this! Now I'm not a huge coffee junkie or anything, so I don't come here everyday. But when I need to go out and catch up with some old pals, I usually come here. This place it right on the corner of main street. It is a two-story Starbucks, which, I really haven't seen before. There is seating on the first floor by the huge windows, and outside on the sidewalk. Upstairs, there is more seating, with 4 large cushion chairs, situated in a conversational-friendly position. If you walk outside the upper level, there are brick structures that can be used for seating as well. So, it's pretty much impossible to not find a seat in this place! Every drink I have ever had here has been pretty good. I have gotten coffees, frappuccinos, and now I'm strictly a decaf tea girl. They have never made my drink incorrectly, and they are usually pretty fast (then again, I have never been there in the morning when they probably have a rush of customers). But, Starbucks is not my favorite when it comes to drinks. I have gone through most of their teas, and I only like the green tea, chai tea, and chamomile tea. I have a variety of tea at home, but most Starbucks teas have a strange flavor to me. Also, their mocha flavored coffee is not too creamy, I've had better. I do appreciate how they are trying to become more healthy-- I've read articles of Starbucks recognizing the high fat content in their drinks and wanting to help their customers have low fat options. This is a good location for studying since it is a bigger location, but it is always busy and sometimes hard to get comfortable seating. If you plan on studying here, I would suggest coming early in the morning or non peak hours. Parking can get pretty packed too in this shopping center. Starbucks is a franchise...I come here I get coffee and majority of the time the staff is friendly and accommodating. I love that this location is open late versus other Starbucks partially because if I want late night Java this is where I'm gonna go. My only gripe is sometimes they get swamped and I spend 15 mins waiting for a drink. Hopefully this location invest in the fax/online orders so it cuts down on time.
