This place is on the corner of the plaza with plenty of parking and walkable. Entering the store, you are met with a sense of calm due to the plants and the general feel of the location. I was greeted almost immediately but also given time to review the menu myself without feeling rushed. As I ordered my drink, the employee answered my questions and was quick with making the drinks. Nice local spot, but hasn't gotten any special attention from me until recently. I've been underwhelmed with their lattes, especially when I've asked for extra hot and they never really seem to be. The prices are mid-high for NOVA - I was also blown over by the price of a large iced matcha the other day. HOWEVER, I've been on a bit of a matcha kick lately so have tried quite a few from numerous sites in the last few weeks. This was the best one, hands down! I watched the barista use the ceremonial matcha tools to make an authentic mix. It had great flavor, the 30% sugar was just right, the perfect amount of ice and milk. It was great....a big treat at nearly $9, but if you are a matcha fan, you should try it and tell me it's not the best one you've had in this area. read more

I was in the mood for a sweet treat and something slightly cold for my drive home. So ofc a boba tea sounded refreshing! I Ordered a taro smoothie :) the menu had a lot of really yummy options- my go tos are always either Taro or honeydew and they had both, so the decision was a little tough. I was intrigued by some of their options, like the rose milk tea! It definitely seems like there is some thing for every flavor profile one could be looking for. They certainly had a lot of coffee options, but I am unfortunately having to forgo coffee during lent. I liked how the cashier gave me a good recommendation. I was going to add some of the sea salt cold foam to my drink and she definitely did not recommend that considering the consistency of the foam. I appreciated that because I definitely didn't want to accidentally ruin my drink. My smoothie came out delicious! They did not skimp on portion, and they also did not skimp on the topping of the lychee jelly! I opted for 70% sweet and it doesn't seem that their drink drinks are overly sweetened to begin with. I definitely will want to come back again! The ambience was very cute. Minimal with some greenery, and I saw a couple ladies sitting in the corner, doing some crochet and yarn work. This is still one of my favorite local coffee shops but I did notice they changed pricing of their menu to meet the current economical challenges. Vietnamese coffee prices slightly raised and some add-on pricing changes for those specific drinks. I love getting the biscoff latte and irish creme brulee for the cold foam included in the price. I love Java Loco's other locations so even though I actually entered the parking lot for Starbucks, I redirected and I'm glad that I did. The interior is super cute, with wicker furniture and hanging plants. I love that it's a coffee shop that offers Boba. Their coffee itself is 4/5, but I sort of feel that about Starbucks too. Worst ever burnt coffee ( that too early in the morning). The Avocado toast had no avocado on it - a very thin layer of green paste which wasn't tast avocado. They refused the coffee refill/ even after we had bought the refill. read more

Java Loco seemed very laidback and quiet when I dropped by around 1700 on a Tuesday afternoon. There weren't too many customers so it was fairly quiet. They have several tables and barstools/table inside with optional outside seating as well. It was a really hot afternoon, so the lack of many customers was much wanted! I ordered the Golden Dream fruit tea with light ice (unfortunately, the sweetness couldn't be customized!). I also had a chocolate cigar Danish. I asked if they made their pasties in-house. They informed me they were not, but they are local. I didn't get the name of the bakery though. I quite liked the chocolate Danish. The drink was pretty good, but was just a tad bit too sweet for my taste. I really like the ambiance in there and would not hesitate to go back and try some of their other offerings. read more

The service was great, Vietnamese coffee was so tasty. Air conditioned, and they had outlets for you to charge your mobile devices which is becoming a luxury because more and more coffee shops in the DMV are not having the electric outlets accessible for people to charge their devices. Java Loco is a great little café in a very convenient shopping center! They have coffee as well as hot sandwiches and pastries. I tried the hot Vietnamese coffee as well as a the iced version with sea salt foam, both were very good but very sweet. I think I preferred the cold version, especially with the salty foam. The sticky roll/cinnamon bun was great and very sticky, the coffee cake topping was sweet but not overpowering or too dry. The café is cozy with lots of natural light! read more

I recently came here for the first time and I already love this coffee shop! They have a very diverse selection of drinks from Vietnamese iced coffee to horchata latte to Irish cream latte and much more... and of course, bubble tea! The atmosphere is just so cute and cozy and modern and clean. Very good place to read a book, work, play with your phone or laptop, meet a friend, etc. Only downside is that the drinks are a bit expensive and I did not see a recycling bin inside (just a trash bin), but other than that, all else was great... read more

What a hidden gem! Visited for the first time today and I loved it. The cafe is very nicely decorated and they have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. It's very cozy with nice music playing and the staff was really nice in answering my questions. I got a brown sugar latte and croissant. The only thing I didn't like is that they served my coffee & croissant in a to go cup and bag even though I mentioned it was for here. The Vietnamese iced coffee was creamy and strong and ready in seconds from the friendly staff--so much faster and tastier than Charbucks in the grocery store.
