I'm so glad I had the opportunity to try this place while I was in town--Such a hidden gem! The inside it's huge but I really loved the traditional floor seating; so cute and cozy! And the food and beverages came out rather quickly, so I can't complain about the service either. I had the pleasure of trying the orange matcha which was one of the best matchas I have indulged in my life. The orange was a bit sweet so you'll definitely need to stir it up as it sits at the bottom but if you're looking for a good matcha--Give that a try! Anywho, I swung back over here before heading out of town and gave the mango frost a try which was another delicious drink... I honestly enjoyed them both so much I couldn't tell you which was better. As for the food; my friend tried the cheesy sweet potato fries and I had the basil fried rice and when I tell you those fries were so crispy and fresh and the cheesy coating almost reminded me of Cheetos or popcorn dust but it complimented the fries very well and the rice was fresh and flavorful and a pretty big portion too! Dying to return here the next time I'm in town
I love this little place. A friend brought me here for a Thai tea one day when I had a craving. I was instantly hooked. When I'm in the area, I will definitely be stopping by. It has such a cute little inside that it's perfect for a little café situation, or a quick tea date with your friend or kid. It is such a cute little vibe. I love all the different types of seating and decor. Additionally, the Thai tea (about $7.50 for a large) here is delicious. They have a full Boba bar, which has tons of different milk teas on it. Their food menu is cute as well. It has pho, bahn mi, spring rolls, and a number of different items. It is convenient to get these items, but they are definitely a bit overpriced, especially considering that there are some really delicious Vietnamese spots not too far from here. One item that I can personally attest to being a little mid and overpriced is the spring rolls. I paid somewhere between seven and nine dollars for two. They were not that flavorful and they were pretty small. Service is usually pretty quick for drinks. I've ordered online and also in store before. I've never waited more than three minutes for my drink. I did wait about 17 minutes for spring rolls one time, but it is what it is. Overall, I will come back. I'm actually planning to take the kid there one of these days for a cute little day date.
Everything about this place is a 10/10! We're from out of town, but in the few days we're in this area, I will be here every day. The name is very fitting; the ambiance is extremely chill. They only play jazz, so you can actually come and relax instead of hearing someone else's taste in pop. My iced egg latte was exactly how I would make a coffee drink at home, which shocked me. One of the best lattes I've had in a long time. The service has been great. Every detail inside the shop has blown me away, from the shoeless seating on the floor to the endless paper cranes, and the incredible old camera collection. Thank you to the owners for putting all of your heart and creativity into a place that I will continue to visit when I'm in the DC area!
Awesome, cozy little spot with delicious food! The pho was very flavorful and delicious, loved every bite. When you enter you order everything at the counter and then seat yourself. Staff was very kind and food came quickly. This place definitely lives up to the name, "chill" atmosphere was perfect for enjoying a meal while catching up with friends in the ambient dining area.
Great spot! Came in there to do some work and the tea/coffee selection is great. I also picked up lunch here and the Banh Mi sandwiches are amazing. It does get crowded around lunch hour but i was able to snag a seat before then.
Service: you order your food and beverage at the counter. Food: Vietnamese fusion. I ordered the egg coffee with was smaller than I had expected for $7!!! But it was delicious. I also ordered the chicken wings. The sauce was ok - I wished they would have done the classic wings with fish sauce. They served it with a side of blue cheese. My friend got the basil fries and Banh Mi which she enjoyed. Ambiance: super cute interior. It's small with 3 small tables, 1 communal table l, a lounge area and a stage for entertainment. Overall I liked this little spot in Arlington. I think the prices are a bit high. I think I prefer the beverages more than the food.
I love the coziness of this cafe and it has really unique seating and decor. I actually took inspiration from their plant corner and bought the same plant stand for my new house. The best things to get here are the Vietnamese coffee-based drinks. My go-to used to be the Vietnamese frappe with some jelly added to it but I recently had a taste test with both the hot and cold versions of their cà phê trứng (egg coffee). The hot version was small and concentrated and the iced version is medium sized, thick, and velvety. It is a special treat that I like to indulge in every once in a while and it's worth the short wait. While waiting and enjoying my drink I usually play on the typewriter, fold origami paper cranes, or look at their vintage cameras decorating the back wall. There is limited parking but it is next to other business that have more parking spots (orthodontist).
If you come here strictly for drinks - boba, tea, etc. - it's a nice spot, but for food, not worth the price. I ordered the Papaya Salad, and although it tasted good, it was just papaya with a few leaves - not a salad at all. See the picture. If you Google Papaya Salad and compare it any of those pictures to what was given, it was very disappointing. In fact, for ~$14, it was not worth it at all; even it were $10 it wouldn't have been worth it. The cafe did have a cozy vibe and some live music which was unique, but the place was much smaller than the pictures showed and not as organized/clean as the pictures led on either. I feel this place might have been great when it first opened, but now below average; especially with their prices.
This used to be my all time favorite hangout spot to go with my friends when I lived closer to Arlington! Super cozy inside with giant teddy bears and lots of seating with ambient lights and pretty decorations. Love all the drink options and the pho's really good, my only complaint is how expensive it's gotten for the small portions, I feel like they should be bigger if the price point is increasing that much. Absolutely love this place though, no other vietnamese places compare to the ambiance and good vibes of Chill Zone
The tea flavor is on par with other boba places in the area. The default sweetness level is very sugary, so if you want to taste the tea I would recommend requesting less sugar. On this visit, Chill Zone was out of the regular tapioca boba, so they recommended substituting the "crystal" boba instead. Unfortunately, the flavor doesn't really go well with a black milk tea, so I wouldn't opt for that again in the future. The layout and ambiance of Chill Zone is pretty nice and they've done a lot to make a smaller space comfortable and inviting. They also have a lot of great food options on their menu and I've had a good experience with those. As far as tea only, I'm not sure this would be my first pick but I guess it works in a pinch. Price wise, it is definitely on the higher end for tea since one large black milk tea with boba came out to $8.80 with tax.
Love this neighborhood, hole in the wall Vietnamese cafe! The coffees are some of the most unique and delicious I've had- especially the taro latte and warm egg coffee. The food is equally amazing- the pork bahn mi and pho are obvious, well done staples, but they have such an extensive, creative menu! Great vibes that keep me coming back.
This place surprises me every year. When I first tried this place pre-pandemic, they only had Boba, lattes, and hot teas. Compared to other places and how pricy it was, I always felt they were a 4 star establishment. I come back a year later and they started adding Vietnamese food which I thought was tasty. Again, not enough for me to come back right away. Recently, I went back after YEARS, and now they've added dishes like Peach Sticky rice along with a plethora of menu items. I loved the sticky rice dish! This shows Chill Zone improves every year and has become a very well-rounded establishment. I think after all these years, they deserve my 5 star review. I'm glad they stuck around!
So I popped in with a friend (right before closing) and I wish I wish I WISH we arrived sooner! The staff (especially the woman who took our order) were friendly and efficient despite the last minute rush. The vibes were everything and you could come with a few people or even solo and enjoy a book, some pho, decor that honors anything and everything chill, and one of their deliciously addictive egg coffees. Yes, you read that correctly, EGG coffee. Iced Egg Coffee, to be more specific. It's sweet, satisfying, refreshing, and you'll want it again and again. The amount of times I've tried to mimic this at home is downright embarrassing...which means that another trip is in order! I have my eye on the Toffee Milk, Saigonese Shake, and Artichoke Refresher. The menu honors traditional Vietnamese fare and fusion, so everyone can find something to enjoy :D Would I come back? Definitely, and I'm bringing everyone. I wanted to love this place, but I honestly didn't understand the hype. The drinks were average and overpriced. On our first visit, they'd already run out of papaya salad despite just having opened. We ordered the So Mint Cooler, which was refreshing but a bit too sour, and a matcha latte that was just average. On our second visit, the papaya salad was a letdown, with barely any beef jerky, and the dish felt so unpolished I could probably make a better version at home. We ordered two drinks: lychee tea and volcano mango. The lychee tea was nothing special, and the volcano mango was supposed to come with a seasoned mango and tajín eatable "straw", but we got a regular one instead. When we asked about it, the staff just said they'd run out. No apology, no heads up until we asked. It felt dismissive. The staff seemed inexperienced overall. I initially assumed this was a self kiosk ordering kind of place, but the second visit made it feel more like a sit down restaurant. Either way, no one checked in beyond taking our order and dropping off the food, so it never felt like a full dining experience. Parking is easy, since it's a combined restaurant and tea shop. A customer for years - Chill Zone is a great little gem on Harrison St, tucked away just off the side of the Safeway. It's become a favorite spot for my daughter and me, and we've even hosted several hangouts for her friends there. It's the perfect low-key environment for a small group. The interior has a great vibe; kids (and likely plenty of adults) love making the origami cranes that decorate the room. My daughter and her friends always head straight for the traditional seating area with the pillows on the floor, though there are plenty of regular tables if you prefer the standard setup. On the menu, the Beef Banh Mi is a standout. It's easily the best you'll find in this part of town without making the trek out to the Eden Center. The meat is juicy, the roll is excellent, and they offer it with or without an egg. The secret stars of the menu, however, are the basil fries. They are excellent and come with a fantastic house-made dipping sauce that pulls it all together. While my daughter is the boba fan of the duo, I stick to the coffee and smoothies. Just be cautious with the Vietnamese coffee--if you aren't a seasoned veteran, that caffeine kick will have your heart racing for hours. The staff is consistently fast, friendly, and efficient. It's a local neighborhood staple that we'll keep coming back to. My only complaint is that they are not a coffee shop for early AM! read more

I've ordered bahnmi, cappuccino, black sesame latte and basil fries. They all tasted good. I love how cozy the cafe feels! I like their seating even tho the place is quite small. But it's a such a cute cafe! The service was good too. read more

The Pho was delicious! Their shrimp fried rice was lacking salt in my opinion. My friend really enjoyed their vermicelli rice. The chai is too sweet but it's due to the condense milk they use so be warned. Their traditional viet hot coffee was pretty good but small. I enjoyed the presentation quite a lot. Also, they served our food in to go containers which I enjoyed quite a lot since I tend to take my food to go most of the time. I would definitely come back here. They had kpop playing in the background and the cafe is pretty cute so I liked it a lot! The service workers were very polite. read more
Came here for the first time on a weekend early afternoon. Hubby and I ordered a milk bubble tea and smoothie. Approximately $12. What's hot - Quality. Pretty good. Our drinks were pretty well flavored. Not too sweet and I could taste the jasmine flavor in my milk tea. Hubby's berry smoothie was also pretty good. - Menu. Pretty good variety and something for everyone- regular/traditional cafe items; non-traditional cafe items, like bubble tea; snacks, appetizers and meals. - Parking. There's a parking lot for this plaza, which is very helpful. - Price. Reasonably priced, especially given the portions and quality. - Service. I asked for my bubble tea to have no ice, which I got. No problems with our orders. Our drinks were ready in less than 10 minutes. After you order, they give you a small post-it note with a number, which is what they call out when your order is ready. What's not - Layout. Smaller than expected and smaller than what it looks like in the pictures. There's a decent number of tables and chairs, but they're kinda cramped together; also not conducive if your group is more than 4 people. If you're eating together as a group, be prepared that their tables may not accommodate you all with all your orders. I saw many other customers cramped in terms of arm space. I also saw a family sit separately, because the 2 tables pushed together couldn't accommodate everything they had. - Price. Not bad for single item orders, but be prepared to pay more if your order gets bigger, especially if you're ordering meals. May not be good value for money for meals. Final answer Would be willing to come back, but not a first choice. read more

Wow, I'm so glad my friend and I decided to grab dinner and catch up at the Chill Zone. It's so close by to where I live (less than 10 minute drive) so I'm pretty surprised it took me this long to know about it. It is in a more secluded plaza and definitely very lowkey. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the interior is homey and unique. It's heavily decorated with paper cranes all over the ceiling and walls (where a lot of them are made by customers). Near the water station, there is stack of origami paper and you can take a couple to fold into paper cranes (and a little box where you can place them in when you're done so they will eventually become decoration). The employees were super nice and friendly, so definitely a great environment and vibe. The seating is also very interesting. There are a few tables (small and large) that you can sit at to eat Vietnamese food, snacks, and drinks. But there's also a space where you sit on floor cushions (which is where my friend and I sat during our time here). My foot fell asleep multiple times, but it was unique and enjoyable. Also given their late hours (close at 10 PM), you can definitely stay there for a good chunk of time to get work done or study, too. I'm happy to find another place like this! I am looking forward to becoming a regular here. While the food and drinks are on the pricier side, I know I'm also paying for the experience. BLACK SESAME SOY LATTE - 6.50 I'm not a huge latte person (prefer black coffee) but black sesame in a latte? Count me in. I have not seen any of these in this area for sure and I love black sesame. While it was a smaller cup, I really enjoyed it as it was not too sweet. The top was sprinkled with a generous amount of black sesame. The latte was also infused with black sesame flavor. Sadly, a lot of the black sesame paste sat on the bottom and I didn't really get to it until the end, but even then, the black sesame paste was not overly sweet. Next time, I'd definitely get a spoon to mix the drink thoroughly before drinking. BộT CHIÊN (PAN-FRIED RICE CAKE) - 13.50 This was essentially scrambled eggs and lots and lots of scallions and scrambled with crispy rice cakes. Definitely a great appetizer to share. There was a generous amount of scallions which we both enjoyed. We thought the rice cakes were too oily/greasy, but other than that, it was simple and tasty, exactly how you'd imagine it to be. PHở TÁI CHÍN - EYE ROUND STEAK & LEAN BRISKET - 16 This came out nice and hot, but I waited until my friend got her food (which was at least 10 minutes later). So by the time I had it, it was lukewarm. I wish I enjoyed it while it was hot since it would probably been 5x tastier. The broth is pretty good but could have more beef flavor or depth to it. There was a good amount of meat and not an overwhelming amount of noodles. Portion size is definitely small, so not the most filling. I thought the food was pretty good (above average but not spectacular), but I was impressed by the drinks and ambiance. I'll definitely be back to try other food and drinks in the future! read more
I came to Chill Zone in search of a hot drink and ended up ordering a full dinner as well! I ordered a hot Viet Chai (slightly pricey at $7.15 total including tax) before realizing how hungry I was and ended up getting the Egg Rolls and Lemongrass Chicken Rice Plate. The chai latte was good; it was different from a chai latte you'd get at Starbucks because the black tea base was a typical black milk tea from a bubble tea/boba shop. In combination with the chai spice, the tea was very satisfying. As I waited for my drink and meal, I enjoyed the live music they have every Sunday from 4-6. The musician was an older gentleman who sung very well and did not dominate the space at all. The volume at which he sung was perfect for the cozy cafe setting. The food came out within ten minutes and I headed out. The egg roll was one of the best I've ever had; fresh and flavorful, the filling had distinct textures and would have been excellent even without the sweet chili dipping sauce. The lemongrass chicken was very good as well; the plate, at a price of $16, came with a large portion of rice and two chicken thighs. I think value for money is perhaps not the best; I expected more chicken than was in here, but the chicken was tender and flavored well. The pickled vegetables were also great and the pickled chili sauce on the side was a welcome contrast. Overall, a really nice spot that I plan to visit again when I'm in the area! read more

I was out and about doing errands on this relatively nice Sunday, when I noticed this cool cafe outside of the grocery store where I was at. I think today was the first nice Summer day without freezing temperatures and rain, and there were a few people seated outside. They have marble benches and also actual tables with chairs, and that's how I noticed it. My first time being here I would definitely ote this cafe as having the best vibe. There's a lot of plant life and cool interesting artwork and sculptures which has obviously made this place appealing to many. I ordered a caramel latte and it was a fun experience jus being here. read more

I've been here a few times now and i have to say it's a hidden gem! I've tried several of their boba teas and the purple root was my favorite. It's a good portion for a reasonable price. Today is the first time I went there to study and try their food. I had the pork Bahn mi and the egg stir fry noodles. Both exceeded my expectations! The ingredients tasted fresh and like something you would get at an expensive restaurant. Ordering is easy enough and the staff call out when your order is ready. The space is pretty small and they play chill music so it can be a little distracting. Would go here to do serious work or take meetings but for some chill vibes while working or studying I'll do it again read more

On a cold rainy day, all I wanted was some thing hot and warm. I found this place on yelp, and it had the highest ratings for pho. After trying the beef pho, I can see why. Very flavorful broth, generous portion of beef and noodles with fresh accompaniments and a chili hoisin sauce. I also enjoyed a jasmine tea latte which was perfectly, but not too sweet. but the absolute real star of the show was the rice cake appetizer. This was so delicious that I was able to take home and will gleefully eat it for breakfast tomorrow. Wonderful place and friendly service. read more
The cutest little cafe that my coworker and I came across. We loved spending our afternoon here and getting some work done. The staff is really friendly and they have plenty of food and drink options. We didn't have any issues finding parking. For my first drink, I got the Caramel Cinnamon Latte and I later got the Autumn Rose Latte. I love both. They were not overly sweet although I do wish that the flavors were a little stronger. They brought the drinks out to where we were sitting. My friend and I split the Bot Chion (Pan-fried Rice Cake) and it was so delicious! The Rice Cakes were so crispy and the eggs had so much flavor. We loved it with the vinegar soy sauce and sriracha. For lunch, I ended up getting the Vietnamese Ramen and it was a good sized portion with plenty of toppings. It was so good and everything comes in a to go container so you can just pack it up and take it with you when you go. I'm definitely coming back! It's the cutest place and I love all the decor. They have so many food options and drinks that I would love to come back and try. Absolutely recommend it here. read more

Yes! The Yelp Fam points us towards the right direction once again. Placed an order online, which was simple and straightforward. Our order was ready in no time. Love the ambiance of this place, it really is a Chill Zone. The cashier (owner?) was incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive. Our order was neatly wrapped and ready to go. Plenty of cozy seating inside. The restroom in the back is clean. Tried their Drinks, Egg Rolls, and Banh Mi's. Everything was delicious from start to finish. The bread was incredibly fresh, light, and held everything together. The meats were flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The veggies inside were also very fresh. Overall, great sandwiches. Their Egg Rolls were light and crisp on the outside with meaty goodness inside. The Peach Island Refresher and Pink Tea were both very refreshing. Quality ingredients are used and much appreciated. I'm so glad we got a chance to visit Chill Zone and can't wait till our next visit. read more
Just found a NEW FAVORITE and wish i could come here all the time! This is such a cozy, perfect spot to get some comfort food that is absolutely tasty and pretty affordable! The staff is very nice and brings food to your table. The Viet-inspired options are extensive but I decided to get vegetarian pho for that feeling of comfort you can only get from warm soup on a rainy day. It's flavorful, balanced with lots of vegetables, and comes with thai basil leaves, lemon, jalapeños, spicy hoisin sauce, and bean sprouts so you can customize it to your heart's content. I got the Viet chai latte which is PERFECT and a matcha on the rocks with boba to go. I love the atmosphere of this cozy café and they even have a corner of paper and encourage bored patrons to make cranes, which devorate the place's ceiling! Very creative and fun place that would be great to visit with friends or on your own with a good book or even to work remotely from! read more
I am Chill Zone's biggest fan. I get a frosty mango with boba twice a week-- it is my favorite drink of all time (the boba itself is amazing but the coconut cream is my favorite part). The pho is also really good but expensive. I wasn't the biggest fan of the bahn mi. I like the lavender lemonade and so mint cooler too. The vibe is so cute and relaxing. Seating is good too. The service used to be really slow but it has improved so much. I wrote a lot of my college essays here. read more
