To start, this location has a spacious open-concept interior lay-out with plenty of chairs, couches, and electric outlets. It also has several floor to ceiling windows that lets in plenty of sunlight. There are many outside seating options for those who want to enjoy the sunshine and parking is easy-peezy! The internet connection is decent, plus the shop is always relatively clean! Lastly, I've always had good experiences with the baristas at this location! Kudos guys and gals! Bradley and Jonathan are the nicest Barista/Shift Manager that I've encountered at this Starbucks. Usually, I am not one to write a review for a place like Starbucks but today really set in stone why I am willing to go out of my way to study at Starbucks. Today I had a really bad experience with what I assume to be a homeless man who came up to my table to harass me and pressure me into giving up my seat and shame me for being there "all day" (FYI I am a student, so ofc I need a place to study) Anyways, After that experience, naturally I was shaken and I spoke with Jonathan who was very kind and professional and reassured me that I did the right thing by not engaging the irate man, He personally spoke to the man and brought me my pastry to the table and made sure I was okay multiple times, this is what a true manager looks like, he takes his job seriously and it shows. Bradley was also a very nice person and was willing to give me suggestions on what to order and was patient as I tried to make my mind on what to get and understood that I was anxious and a bit shook after my encounter with the man who came to bother me as I studied. Will definitely be returning to this establishment in the future. It's a very well run store with caring and nice staff. read more

Still love Starbucks, but going to avoid this one for a while. The past few times we've been here the drinks have been off. Particularly the Machiattos and especially the cloud Machiattos. The ones we get here never look or taste like every other Starbucks we visit. Today my drink tasted like it had a chemical aftertaste. Out of the three drinks we ordered, all three were disappointing. It could be because they misheard our order and originally made two drinks, then rushed to make the third while we were at the window...but...that would only explain one drink. Unsure what is going on here, or why the person taking our order had an issue/disdain for throwing a caramel machiatto in the blender for us when prior to this visit, this location and every other Starbucks we've asked has never questioned it. This is a brand new Starbucks (called Mace and I-80) at the old Burger King location. I've driven past this location everyday and have watched them remodel (literally tearing everything apart to it's structs and rebuilding). The inside looks very roomy. Larger-than-average Starbucks and definitely the biggest coffee shop in Davis space-wise. Perfect place for studying and is open later than the other Starbucks in the area. Lots of tables and seating. You'll see a lot of students and academics doing work at this location. The wifi signal is strong and reliable for the most part. There's also a drive thru which is super convenient if you're on the go. It's a little out of the way unless you have a car, but it's bike-able from downtown and the Davis red buses and YoloBus have a stop right outside. read more

This location just opened today and is so close to my house and right next to the 80 on/off ramps. The exterior and interior are very clean and trendy - there's different kinds of seating, tons of outlets, and the light fixtures are stunning. The staff is very welcoming and nice - they called me by name and said bye when I left. The women's bathroom is spacious and clean - there are two stalls and one sink. My go-to is usually a grande cold brew, but today I got the mango lemonade and its delicious! Not too sweet and just the right amount of refreshing. There is also a drive through, so that is super rad for the early morning commutes and easy access to the freeway. On a scale from gas station coffee to quality coffee, I give this a gourmet rating! Everyone should visit whether it's to write a paper, have a meeting, or grab and go with your morning caffeine fix. I will be visiting again and often. read more

This location gets very hectic both inside and in the drive thru. It is very hard to pick up a mobile order from this location because they place them behind a glass and if you are not there when they call out your name you have to flag down a barista in order to get it. Whenever I have done a mobile order here that has a food item I have had to ask if I can just go grab it myself because I end up waiting longer for the pre packaged food to be handed to me than my drink that had to be made. The staff is nice. Parking can be very difficult because it is located in the same space as a Nugget and a couple of other stores. It's an ok location but you're better off going to the Downtown Davis location or even the Starbucks located inside of the Target nearby. There is ample seating which is a plus for students. read more

I was hesitant to try this location because the overall rating didn't seem that great, but I'm glad I did. I usually visit the Starbucks at the University Mall or even inside Target, but this location was great because of the drive-thru convenience. Empty drive-thru line on a Friday around 2:30PM. Big, bright screen to display order. Quick service. Only thing was they didn't ask if I wanted whipped cream on my drink until it was already in my hands, but the fact they acknowledged it at all was still a good sign. It wasn't a problem, though, since I usually opt for no whipped cream. Also ordered a Vanilla Cream Cold Brew, which I've been enjoying lately but always find a smidgen too tart for my liking so I parked and went inside to grab a packet of Sugar in the Raw. I frequent this location a ton and in general this place is on point for a Starbucks. Drinks fluctuate up and down in terms of sweetness, and I wish there was a bit more consistency. That being said, I have only got the ash tray flavor coffee from this spot once out of the hundred or so times I've been here, and that's pretty good. You know, that coffee that's so burnt you might as well be drinking an ash tray. (I have received many an ash tray coffee from Peets, so I tend to stay away from them.) I would probably give this place three stars, but the customer service here is great. They are constantly busy, I feel, but always nice. Once I even spilled my drink after walking back to work, across the parking lot, and they comped me a free one! (I went back to order another and they recognized me.) The past reviews have complained about the internet and I hate to agree that it is extremely slow here. However the long tables and quantities of tables are large here so it's a good place to study if you're not using the internet. Outlets are scarce here, there one long table that I was seated at and has outlets but none of them work. Outside patio area is nice. There are plenty of seats out there as well as a couch with nice shade. There are also bike racks right outside and in the little crate area where you can store your bike away. Interior is fairly clean, there are a few papers here and there but it's not entirely messy. There are separate male/female bathrooms near the merchandise wall. Baristas are friendly. I ordered a carmel macchiato through Starbucks' mobile app and it was ready within 4 minutes. The guy in glasses was nice enough to check the inside of my drink and noticed that there wasn't enough drink and added some more seamed soy milk to my order. read more

I love the drive through feature of this Starbucks. Before this Starbucks opened the only coffeehouses with a drive through in Davis were inconvenient. This place tends to make my coffee and teas better than other locations in Davis. The only con that I've seen in this place is that sometimes they are out of ingredients for drinks. While I was there the other day, they ran out of frappuccino mix. I found it a little crazy that a Starbucks would be unable to do a basic drink such the frappuccino. read more

Just a typical Starbucks, not the best coffee in the world, but at least it's consistent everywhere. I'm so glad they opened this location because it's close to my house. A huge plus is that they have a drive thru so you can grab a coffee on your way to work. Even though the line for the drive thru is usually long, the service is pretty quick. If you don't want to go to the drive thru, there's tons of seating in the store. It's the perfect place to study! I use this location and the downtown location equally. Pros- ample seating/parking Cons: SLOW service, inconsistency with drinks (tasting different each time), mistakes with orders. Starbucks mobile orders are placed behind a glass partition so ease of pick up is non-existent. I'm a frequent visitor to Starbucks and have never had any problem here. However, this visit was surprisingly disappointing- horrible customer service experience. While standing in line, I took a step to the side looking at what sandwich to order. The lady infront of me went behind me at the same time, which I was completely unaware of this situation until later. In the meanwhile, the barista in short hair and glasses called for the next customer. Since no one was infront of me, I went ahead to the counter only to be yelled by her "you just cut the lady! She was here before you!" and giving me an unpleasant look. I turned around looking at the direction the barista pointed, the lady was all the way back in line by the mug section. This is when I realized where the person infront of me went. It was really an honest mistake at my part to accidentally cut her. I ordered the drink later anyways and tastes great. Depending on the day, the drive thru line can either be fast or slow. I haven't had an issue with my drink so far (Insert thumbs up) and the staff is friendly! The drive thru entrance is pretty narrow and I worry about scratching my rims. The drive thru entrance can be easy to miss also if its your first time.
