Starbucks run
David L.

This place is great. Seating inside and out. Very spacious with lots of outlets. It gets pretty busy but it's one of the more quiet Starbucks I know. People just come, plug in, get caffeinated, and then get work done. Food is ok too. Lots of different coffee cakes. Solid A-

Yum! Love me a blueberry scone. A rare treat!

It is one of the newer and more popular Davis Starbucks locations. Located in the well frequented Mace Boulevard, Nugget Shopping Center with easy off/on E/W bound freeway exits for your drive thru needs. When it opened, it was a huge bonus for South Davis residents as all other Davis locations were on the other side of the freeway some distance away. Unfortunately, it opened shortly before I moved away from Davis to my present home. It is a large Starbucks for sure. With a nice covered patio to chill and hang out. Parking is easy, and there is lots of it. It is the favorite with everyone. Students in their jammies:), and local kids and adults. Dogs welcome! It is always busy. People come with their computers and stay. Moms meet with the babies, high power business meetings... you get the picture! Oh...and of course bike friendly!Welcome to Davis! I loved enjoying my extra hot latte and blueberry scone in one of my favorite former stomping grounds! Shout out to Paris for making it extra nice! I miss this Starbucks. No other like it. Till we meet again:).

Matcha latte

Quick service, it's just the ice to drink ratio is unacceptable. I had about 4 good drinks till I wasn't able to drink anymore. I feel as though I need to ask for light ice to get a regular proportion, but the food is decent aswell

Always plenty of seating. There is also outside seating. Sometimes the place is a little sticky. One of the workers though is really nice and joyfully took my order and served. The long tables have power strips and hooks for holding backpacks.

I had a disappointing experience, as Jilian at the window were extremely rude and constantly rolled eyes. Extreme lack of professionalism. And she smashed my cake pop

First time visiting this location and we love it! The service was great, friendly, fast and drinks prepared exactly the right way! It was clean and a nice vibe. Lots of people sitting around on laptops and just hanging out.

Vegetarian - Impossible Breakfast Sandwich $4.95
Ron R.

*** Vegetarian Review *** *** Social-Distancing *** Tips for first-timers: 1. It says "breakfast" sandwich, but I asked. It's available all day. 2. If you like sausage, you'll love "sausage" Will I Come Back Test? Yup! It will be Impossible to stop me. So I finally have a reason to give Starbucks my money. It's not that I don't like their coffee, it's that I've actually never had a sip of coffee in my near 50 years and have no desire to start. But now that they have a unique vegetarian warm food option, The Impossible (sausage) Breakfast Sandwich, looks like I'll be waiting in that drive-thru with everyone else. It's an exciting time to be a vegetarian. The majority of the the fast food establishments have recognized there is a huge demand. Who knows ... Arby's may eventually have a commercial that says "We have the meats ... NOT!" In the pecking order of mass produced vegetarian foods, Impossible is the top of that faux food chain, closely followed by Beyond. Starbucks choose wisely. Impossible Breakfast Sandwich ($4.95, Grade A): The Impossible Sausage (plant-based), aged cheddar cheese, and a cage-free egg on an artisanal ciabatta bread. Served warm and definitely not microwaved. I don't know how they do it, but the bread stays crunchy and warm until the very last bite. And somehow, when you bite through, you bite through. You don't have to pull away like a lion eating its prey. Super clean to eat on the road. For those who have never tried an Impossible Burger let alone their plant-based sausage, let's just say in a blind taste test, you would be hard pressed to tell a difference. Especially since the aged cheddar and egg are in the bite pool, it's literally "Impossible" to notice you are helping the environment. Bottom line: If you were ever curious about being vegetarian or possibly vegan if you ask for no egg or cheese (please check on the ciabatta though), this will be a perfect entry meal for you to go meatless one, two, or seven days a week. The Starbucks crew was extremely nice and efficient and got my food out in a blink of an eye. Socially-distanced - The interior tables have been removed, but outside seating is available. Drive-thru is super busy and can get a little jammed up when pulling into the parking lot, but from what I can see, it moved fast. I appreciate that the staff were not only wearing masks, but gloves and the person that takes the order didn't handle food.

Very nicely done, comfortable interior. The wifi, though, is in major need of improvement.

I've been a customer of Pachamama Coffee since their presence at John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis,…read morebut my experience today has seriously damaged my trust in this business. To begin with, their coffee bean pricing is a fraud using the excuse of being a co-op. A bag of coffee costs approximately $65 at the Farmers Market, compared with $90 in-store and $105 online. I typically purchase at the market to save money, and despite the high price, I've continued supporting the business because I enjoy the coffee. In return, I expect reasonable product availability and basic respect as a customer. On at least five occasions, I've been told that my favorite blend was out of stock at the Farmers Market. Each time, I've been assured that stocking would improve. Today, my parents were visiting from Korea and wanted to take a bag of coffee home. Unfortunately, the same blend was unavailable yet again. I was willing to purchase a different blend. However, instead of helping me find an alternative or offering any reasonable compromise, Cruz Conrad, whom I understand to be Pachamama Coffee's Chief Retail Officer, became defensive, attempted to correct me, refused to apologize or acknowledge my frustration, and ultimately refused to sell me the alternative blend. He then ended the interaction rudely. Let me be clear: the problem wasn't simply that a product was out of stock. The problem was the complete failure of management to handle the situation professionally. Inventory shortages happen. But when a business repeatedly fails to stock a product that customers specifically come looking for, makes assurances that the situation will improve, and then refuses to accommodate a customer who is willing to purchase something else, it raises serious questions about its inventory management and customer service practices. What makes this interaction particularly disappointing is that the person involved is reportedly a senior retail executive. I would expect someone in that position to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and sound judgment when handling customer concerns. Instead, I was denied a purchase I was prepared to make with hostility, insecurity, incompetency, and arrogance and left embarrassed in front of my visiting parents. Pachamama Coffee needs to take responsibility for both its recurring inventory problems and the way its customers are treated. Customer loyalty should be valued, not taken for granted. A business cannot reasonably expect customers to keep returning when it repeatedly disappoints them and then treats them disrespectfully for raising legitimate concerns. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Until there is meaningful improvement in both product availability and customer service, I will have difficulty recommending Pachamama Coffee going forward.

You can see a lot of the prep happening which feels intentional and adds to the whole aesthetic. It was packed (but also... every cafe in Davis is packed??), and I got lucky snagging a seat. There's indoor plus a covered outdoor area that I loved. Menu-wise, if you eat everything you're thriving. Vegetarians have options. Vegans... you can make it work, but you'll be doing a little remixing. Plenty of non-dairy milks though, so drinks are easy. And speaking of -- the yumberry spritzer?? yeah I'm thinking about it again. I'm not even a carbonation person and somehow this was insanely good. Got the berry, already planning my return for the blue one. Staff looked like actual pastry chefs (uniforms on point), super friendly, good energy all around. Also randomly spotted a Korean item on the menu which threw me for a second but I'm into it. There's grab-and-go too if you're in a rush. Not my first pick if you're strictly vegan and want a full spread, but still really cute and worth popping in... if only for that drink.

The Cloudbreaker immediately met my taste buds with bitterness and then left my tongue completely numb for several minutes. Perhaps those sensations would have paid off if they were followed by a calming or THC-like effect, but I didn't experience any change in mental state. The comfortable atmosphere saves this establishment from 1 star. Dim lights, leather couches, chill music, and colorful tiki wall art make for a decent study spot or date night. However, if you're hanging out at a business, you gotta support it, and to support it, you gotta buy something -- I can't see myself buying anything kava-related with any ounce of enjoyment. Surely there must be some variation of a kava drink that tastes delightful. I don't want to spend any more money finding out though.

There is a lot of table space in the cafe and when UC Davis is in session, I've found many of the tables to be occupied by students doing just that. Mishka's Cafe has been around since 1995 and is a beloved place in Davis. It's a traditional cafe that has a welcoming atmosphere. When you first walk into the cafe you'll see the food case just to your left. It is filled with cafe items such as croissants, muffins, and cookies. There are savory items as well as sweet. I found the quality of the food here to be quite good and unique. Sometimes cafe food just feels like it came from somewhere else, but even if these did, they have a uniqueness about them. For example, the chocolate croissant is very flakey with a good amount of chocolate in the interior. It really surprised me! I also found the ham and cheese croissant to be very rich in flavor. My only gripe about either or these items was the heating method. I'm not sure how they are heated up, but they feel as though they used one of those quick heaters to quickly get them ready rather than a good toaster to get the items nice and crisp. As good as they are they were a bit limp due to the heating method. In terms of coffee, it's perfectly adequate. They have special offerings as well as their traditional menu. I found the coffee to be mild and friendly. It's not too strong nor very unique. It's just a solid cup. Sometimes that's really all you need.
