I am running on 3 hours of sleep and recovering from a migraine but my day has already been made thanks to Lauren at this location. She was unbelievably nice, lovely and knowledgae about the drinks. I didn't know I could get a ice peppermint mocha or a frap peppermint mocha. GAME CHANGING. I am also super happy that they brought back the furniture since COVID. It's a lovely location. I work nearby and come here embarrassingly often, and the service is always so fast and friendly. I should have thought to leave a review earlier, but on a really bad day I managed to forget my purse here, which had my passport, my keys, and my cash tips. They were so nice when I called in a panic the next morning when they reopened, and everything was there when I came in to pick it up. They'd even been using my passport to look for me on Facebook so they could let me know they found it. Thank you so much for making a really bad day so much better. read more

I came here the day the world looked like it was about to end. You remember the one: green skies, eerie silence, gale-force winds, sideways and upside down rain. I don't usually come to Starbucks (or this location) but I had folks to meet and things to give away. I almost gave away my show up the arse of the employees. I ordered a venti drink and an apple fritter. I got the fritter immediately but the drink never came. I waited. I saw other people order, receive their order and leave before the bad weather blew through. I was trying to do the same, so I was a little annoyed that I had no beverage! I went to the counter, inquired about my drink and received a: "Ohhh. Riiiight. That's what I forgot. Haha. Sorry, dude." Is this what we're teaching the children of today? Where have we failed, America??? Since I was in a crowded place, wearing a work face and trying to garner good karma so I wouldn't be swept away to Oz in the storm, I didn't destroy him upon utterance. But, I made notes! I ate my fritter (good), drank my beverage (awful) and clickety-clacked away on my laptop. Then the skies opened up and I thought we were done for. Everyone looked up and went silent. I was annoyed that I wasn't at home, relaxing in my b-e-d and being grateful that I wasn't outside. After 25 minutes of waiting, the storm slackened some and I thought this was my best chance to escape. I didn't mind getting wet (contrary to popular belief, water doesn't make me melt) but I didn't want my laptop to get injured. I have been to a few Starbucks. I stopped in this location after taking care of errands in Lincoln Park. Awesome location. Clean. Plenty of space. Plenty of tables to relax a little, read a book or get some work done. I was little confused on where the order line is. I didn't want to cut in front of anyone. The cashier looked a little unhappy. Not rude. But unhappy. I did attempt to get him to smile but failed. I guess he was having a bad day. My barista was a rock star. My drink was nice and hot. Great taste also. I've lived in this neighborhood for a long time and have been visiting this Starbucks (in this location and its former home just down the street) and it's...fine. It's been given a facelift...there are fewer homeless people camped out there...the drinks are run-of-the-mill Starbucks...but all these years and not one person remembers my name when I go in to order a drink. I know it's not a huge deal but at a different location, on Irving Park, that I only visit every so often I'm greeted warmly by name. There is only one friendly lady in the crew that shines the whole store. And she is probably the only reason that I go there to buy drinks for myself and my friends every week. Beside that, it is the worst Starbucks location I've been to! Not one of the worst. It's The Worst! Other crew always wear upsetting faces and grumpy attitude giving out a feeling that you are not welcome there and just order your drink then get out. If you do plan to order from there, be prepared. Well, the good include a friendly staff and a comfortable seating area. The bad: there is a constant stream of homeless people using the restrooms (located in the back corner of the store). This is my usual Starbucks, it's right by my job and I have always loved it. However, the service/ baristas have gone downhill for the last couple of months. They are rude, no smiles, it's like they hate their jobs, which, if you are working customer service at least make it look like you like it while the customers are present. I miss Alfonso, best barista around. :( The coffee I had today tasted burnt and it was just a simple dark roast. I don't load my coffee with a lot of milk or sugar so I like to take a good coffee. I like this starbucks. You guys : I am back on the wagon. This summer I had forgotten the siren song that is the salted caramel mocha. I have been coming to this Starbucks for years because their location is closest to my apartment. Despite their smaller footprint compared to most Starbucks, there are enough outlets to go around, including one next to every table on the far wall. And within more recent years, they've done a bit of remodeling and made a space for a high-top bar. The staff has always been good to me and the line goes fairly quickly when there is a line. They play their signature Jazz in the speakers overhead despite selling Katy Perry and Meghan Trainor at the register, but that is Starbucks for you. read more

Called this location today and asked if I could call in an order. The man who answered the phone was incredibly rude- when I asked if I could purchase over the phone he stated no very aggressively (I figured not without a gold card, but hey it's just a question!), then proceeded to tell me to order through Uber eats..., then concluded with telling me he was incredibly busy and didn't have time to speak on the phone. If you are this busy, hire more employees, or just don't answer the phone if you are going to be frazzled and short with your customers. read more

Every uniformed employee except one responds with smug and sarcastic faces when you order, is un-curteous if you return to the counter and mention the problem. When asking to speak to a specific manager who was not sarcastic (and who also was not working with customers today but was doing some other kind of job), I was refused the ability to talk to this person, who clearly I can only feel comfortable with due to the visible "oh look it's a problem that you exist" of the other employees. Also the floor is incredibly dirty, not because they haven't milled it but rather because there ISN'T any floor it's just bare, construction concrete including the old gum and oil spots and other that comes with that. The bathrooms are not completely clean and have lighting so dim that you can't even see to, say, clean your fingers if you've had your period, let alone use the bathroom as one would generally expect to be able to. And the amount of plugs is not quite as plentiful as should e expected for a Starbucks. Having had varying results with pour-overs (which is a required way to order coffee if you want any type of beans besides the disgusting Pike that is the only one which is pre-brewed at nearly all locations after noon - sometimes earlier), this is one of the locations that does not do so correctly and results in a watery drink, at least today. The "tables" at the comfortable chairs are of a decent height to use your laptop, which is a rarity. However, the size of these tables, will not even fit one full size laptop. All in all, just avoid Starbucks generally when you are in Chicago. There are plenty of other coffee shops available in Chicago, as well as bars if your purpose is to work online for several hours. Some of these other places, such as Collective Coffee and Pret A Manger, even have rewards programs. If you have a free item, discount, or happy hour with Starbucks, just wait until you get out of Chicago to use it... It will almost definitely be worth it. I have not had experience in Chicago with Target's Starbucks, so perhaps try there if you can't get out of Chicago before your reward or item expires. However, if it is a birthday reward and you call customer service, they will re-instate it when you ask. Avoid Starbucks in Chicago. If you are unfortunate to live there, there is one you can easily go to in Park Ridge. Although I've had a bad experience there you may notice, it will under no circumstances be as bad or mistreatment as Chicago - if they can fix the temperature or if you didn't plant to sit there. There is also Starbucks at the Skokie Yellow Line, the Davis Evanston Red Line around the corner, and probably a few more Starbucks that are easily accessible to you "even if you never leave Chicago". Please. Go there. Starbucks in Chicago so they will shut down and learn to treat customers correctly! There are a few locations downtown that do not have this problem, however the majority of them have no seating area. There is one location downtown with a seating area however the drinks are being made there nonstop all day so it's unlikely that your drink will be made with good quality precision there. You can go there to sit if you want plain coffee, I think. But don't go here to this location of this review unless they improve the employees a bit. This locations has not protested a pour over or pretended it's not allowed, and was aware of the correct recall policy, so I guess that's "good". Of course it's standard, obvious, common sense, and mandatory, but Bing this os Chicago, you unfortunately have to perhaps literally mention this since, insanely, there are actually locations that do one or both. If you do encounter an entire Starbucks full of employees where no one knows the recall policy, I believe it's actually posted fully in their website FAQ now (or at least it was at one time). read more

What's the point? Andersonville has tons of other coffee shops so nearby where you can support local business, get a better drink, be around better people and all for a better price! I've been in there more than I'd like lately (don't know why, because its at the bus stop I guess) and I'm always disappointed. Always long lines and not great coffee. I'm a loyal Starbucks customer but have noticed that in recent years many Starbucks' quality and ambience has fallen dramatically. This Lincoln Park treasure is one that has been able to maintain its integrity and its charm. The interior decor is modern and artistic, and more importantly because they are talented at making the most of their space, they have a good amount of seating in limited square footage. They're able to squeeze in a good number of seats without it feeling cramped. This is of course taking into consideration that I arrived on a Sunday @ 3pm, so it could be a little less crowded than usual. This is also one of the few Starbucks I have seen that are participating in offering customers beer, wine & desserts (note: this option starts after 4pm). They also have promotions every once in a while, like happy hour frappuccinos half off. Seems like this is one of the branches used to test the market for new concepts. Wish I lived near here so I could come here more often. read more

Great location, friendly staff, clean store. I stop in here an estimated three times a month so base my review on that. I usually go in on the weekends and it is always busy and appropriately full. This is a larger location, so you can always find a seat. My only hesitation with this place is I've been here a couple times and ordered a salted caramel mocha and they've made it for me without telling me they were without the salt and let me know as they were handing it to me. I am not much of a coffee drinker unless it's summer, then I love frappacinos and iced coffees with caramel, of course. However, I try to stay away because they are not exactly healthy. Thanks to the nice people at this Starbucks I have found that I can get a low fat caramel frapp or iced caramel latte. And they taste really good, yay! My only complaint, they don't have sugar free caramel sauce to put on top. I guess I'll survive. So now I come here too often and love it. The atmosphere in this Starbuck's is awesome. It's busy, but not hectic. The staff is friendly and efficient. They seem to like their jobs. The layout is nice, too. Comfortable for many laptops, for sure. Great that its on a couple of bus lines, so when you miss one, you have an excuse to run in and get you somethin', which is just what I was doing! One thing I can say for certain is that the employees here are ALWAYS friendly. I mean it's a Starbucks so of course if you go at 7am, it's going to be packed as opposed to going in at 3pm. The reason behind my rating is because I feel the drinks are a little messy sometimes. As in the cup tends to be overly sticky, from them spilling your drink while making it. Yesterday, the girl didn't even attempt to clean my cup off before handing it to me. I did it on my own and saturated TWO napkins.
