Mobile orders are expected to be made BEFORE the customer arrives not when I get to the window. That completely defeats the purpose of placing a move order. I came into the Starbucks location @ 4701 S Cicero Ave., Chicago and ordered a coffee this time. I had an issue with the quality of the paper cups not holding up to the hot drinks inside of them. I spoke with Kayli, I think she is a shift manager??? Kayli is a excellent manager / employee. She heard my complaint and was sympathetic towards my concerns. I explained what drink I got and she identified me because of the drink I ordered. WHAT AN EXCELLENT MEMORY... WOW. She then explained that the next time I come in there. She would make sure I will be getting a double cup because my complaint was how thin the cups are and they dont hold up for long with the hot drinks. She has GREAT managerial skills. Nice Starbucks near Airport. They offer lots of working space on the inside, outside patio and plenty of parking and clean restrooms. The service was great as they asked me my name and had my order ready rather quickly. I did not use the drive thru as I went in to ace my order. The baristas were friendly. I'll give it two because they make their drinks well. However, their mobile orders aren't always made on time and when me or my girlfriend go into pick them up, people are standing around talking. When it takes me 10 to 15 minutes to drive there, park and get out, the order should really be done. I get being backed up and am understanding to that but not when there is no one inside. Also, let's talk about this quarantine. I understand all the safety measures to be safe and clean and incorporating social distancing while servicing people, but this locations has got to get a handle on these lines. There are two entrances but ONE line and people are cutting people off and getting a little out of hand. You guys have got to do something about this before someone does some thing stupid. Major details; your last stop for SBUX before arriving at or leaving from Midway. It's got a drive-thru and the parking lot is minuscule. First off, the parking lot could have been planned better, spaces are narrow and without guidance arrows to facilitate traffic motorists move every which way. Behind the cafe are unmarked areas where people may park with the hopes of not getting towed or ticketed. Inside, it is spacious with high ceilings and plenty of seating for twos. The light music playing up above helps to drown the busy, noisy conversations happening all around. Services are slow. Even at 10 am. Some employees excel over others, true of any business but it's as if there's a programmed slowness they follow to every customer interaction. I've been here previously and usually as a drive-thru customer. Seldom I might park and enter. This time I entered and was met with the laziest approach. Standing at the counter I waited to place an order. At least four people were within eye-gaze. Two young ladies leaning against the drive-thru window talking back and forth after having served a motorist. Another barista paced up and down doing what? I'm unsure. In the back were a few more employees. On the floor, there were quite a number of people leisurely drinking coffees and chatting. There were tables that could have been bused and washrooms in dire need. Eventually someone woke up out of their morning daze and helped me. Last detail; the Men's room was YUCK! A room deodorant / deodorizer would be appreciated. As would replenishing the soap dispenser or repairing the swinging mechanism on the door. It has to be pulled with a force and perhaps a foot on the wall to get the single-use washroom door to close. With the airport near and transients passing through, for some this is a last pit-stop to drop a deuce. Ugh, the smells in there. So strong I shut my eyes and held my breath as long as I could. I wanted to wash my damn hands before snacking on a muffin and had to endure that putrid washroom. Moments before, I remembered a look someone gave me as I neared the Men's room. It makes it extremely difficult to pull up to order and to park in the lot. The drive-thru is dangerous and frustrating. This location should designate an exit and entrance for the cars to pull up in an orderly fashion. However, THIS Starbucks is better as a drive-thru because parking is VERY minimal. They have the worst customer service at this location. It is a disservice to the Starbucks brand the way management has ill equipped the staff on how to greet and serve their customers. I just stood at the counter for close to two minutes and no one greeted me or stated that they'd be with me shortly. I am a very patient, reasonable and considerate person and could understand if it was a busy time for them. It was 5 am and I was the only dine in customer. There was one barista at the drive thru and one making a drink. Neither one acknowledged me or as much as looked my way. Needless to say because they literally didn't see me as a customer, I turned and walked out. Throughout the years I have occasionally patronized this location and today I am reminded of why my visits are so infrequent. Unfortunately, this is about my third experience having walked out of this establishment for the lack of acknowledgement and service. I will never return.
