I've got my eyes on this place. Expect a review in the near future.

I discovered Sweet Monster after a search of restaurants with 'Bubble Tea' via yelp. Sweet Monster just happened to be ranked number two within a radius of the River Forest area. From there, it became an instant bookmark for me after I viewed and took a liking to its items featured on its menu, which was a huge plus! Unexpectedly, I visited while enroute to a nearby fitness center. Its location sits along Roosevelt Rd. If you have tunnel vision, you might miss it because its signage does not stand out, so keep an eye out for its neighboring business Turano Bakeshop which is meters away. Parking is free (2-hour), and shared, with space directly outside of the location. The employee took notice of me shortly after I walked in and up to the counter to look at the menu. I was given plenty of time to browse the menu to see what gauged my interest. I ended up ordering a Dragon Fruit Green Tea w/ syrup flavor choices Green Apple, Lavender, and Popping Boba Cherry. Out of the selections of drinks, I just could not take my eyes off of the Fruit Flavor Tea section which will likely be the drinks I order during future visits. I could not wait to taste the Dragon Fruit Green Tea which I took a sip of immediately after getting inside of my vehicle. It smelled wonderful! And to match its wonderful smell, my taste buds were surged with the delicious syrup flavors I chose. Yum! I finished off my drink entirely during my treadmill run as it gave me something to sip on in-between my run intervals. Being that I had a great experience, I would gladly order from Sweet Monster again when in the area. For future orders, I can surely see myself ordering online via yelp and picking up while headed to the fitness center for a workout. Ice cream was given to me like this store was not busy at all just looks horrible definitely not worth $30. $30 for a ugly half Melted ice cream

Great teas and great selection. Taking off one star because the price is a bit higher than other places, but this is a good option in the area. I would recommend lowering the sweetness level to 75% or 50%. Spiced chai with boba Lavender galaxy tea with lychee jelly

It was my first time coming here and trying rolled ice cream. I was recommend to come here and was giving a $10.00 gift card. Purple is my favorite color so I ordered the lavender galaxy drink I wasn't a Big fan of the taste. The girl told me it was a sweet drink but it had like a funny tart bitter tasting. I also ordered the cookie monster rolled ice cream with a chocolate chip and oreo cookie with other delicious toppings. It was actually good. The two young girls working were super helpful and patient while I decide on what to order. Menu is filled with variety flavors (Bubble Tea, Galaxy drinks, cookies, rolled ice cream and other treats. Nice Service and the rolled up ice cream was pretty good. Health & safety Mask required Staff wear masks Safety dividers with Menus covered in plastic at checkout

It took 40 minutes to get 2 rolled ice creams. Nice people, slow service. The place wasn't very busy.

King Kong (Banana & Nutella) rolled ice cream $7.88. 3/5 Dragon Fruit black tea in the background. 1.5/5 stay away from their 'fruit tea'

Should have trusted the reviews and not go here. Rip off is the first word that came to mind. If you're looking for high quality, this is not it. It was crowded when we came. I noticed while waiting that they tend to overstate the wait time but it's actually typical wait time to get your drinks. Rolled ice creams take longer because they only have one station -- about 15mins so not bad. Prices are very expensive for very basic quality though. We got: - Dragon fruit black tea (1.5/5): I can barely taste the black tea or dragon fruit. It's just terrible sweet syrup water.....Added aloe vera which tasted weirdly soft unlike typical aloe vera topping that I have gotten hundred times. It's bad. - King Kong (3/5): banana and Nutella rolled ice cream. I like the variety of toppings on their ice creams. Looks cute and fun to eat! However, they don't add enough mix-ins (in this case banana and Nutella), which makes the ice creams taste mostly milky (the ice cream base) with a hint of flavor. I also feel like they rushed to make it so the ice cream didn't have time to freeze long enough and melted pretty fast. This area lacks options so if we are around here and have no choice, we would maybe come back for the rolled ice cream. But with the crazy prices on the menu and lack of quality, we probably won't.

My daughter who is 9 turned me on to this spot and I am glad she did! This is one time when I will admit the Internet is a plus for the world. First time trying rolled up ice cream, but I promise you it will not be my last. Only draw back is that on a nice summer evening it gets packed and the wait time can easily reach 30 minutes. My first thought when they told me it would be a 30 minute wait I was like for ice cream?!?! But after watching how they make it with such craft and skill I said Ok let me see what they're working with. Well it's amazingly good and worth the wait!! You pick your ice cream, your toppings and all for all $8.00. So worth it!!

It's the fact that the order are coming out as ordered why did someone that just walked in and ordered at the register get served before us.

Chai lattes are always a hit or miss for me but I loved this chai and I'm glad I ordered it less sweet. Next time I'll definitely order it less sweet than I got but it's still good. I got the black sugar boba and I wish I got a double scoop it's so good. I will say the cap on the cup doesn't fit right so my drink kept spilling in the car so just be careful with that.If you're on the fence about this place, I would give it a try.

Milk Foam Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba (I had normal sweetness, but it was unfortunately not very sweet at all).
    Shannon S.

Visiting from CA and get boba pretty frequently there. In comparison, the Jasmine milk tea (which is what I usually get) tasted very unsweetened and the boba is average. But they do have a great list of menu items, and lots of customizable drink options. I ordered online and chose curbside but they made me come in. I had an order of 6 drinks and was by myself, and had to package it all up safely myself. Not trying to be critical, but it definitely made it difficult as a carry-out customer. Thankfully, there was ample street parking so I didn't have to park too far away.

This is a cute little downtown area, and unfortunately, it's barren on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Which worked well for us as we showed up and no one was there. Just us, which gave us plenty of time to sample the various flavors, and chat with the person working in this cute little ice cream shop. They can make all these cute shakes and sundaes with all kinds of toppings, but seeing as we aren't young kids, there's no way we could eat confections such as what I listed above. Instead, we got to try their various flavors. Thinking back, I believe I got a watermelon ice cream. I could be wrong. However, I do remember how juicy, fruity, and sweet the ice cream was. Not sweet like overly sweetened lemonade that puckers one's lips, but like the sweet sensation of a perfectly ripe watermelon, bursting with succulent. flavor. It was like that. And man was it good! If I lived in Riverside or close by, I would be there all the time. So thankfully, we were out for a drive and wanted some ice cream and found this cute little shop. They have a few small tables inside, but what makes this a town square right out of the 1950s are the cute little wireframe tables and chairs they had outside along the sidewalk so you can sit and enjoy your cone, and people watch. And we did just that. If I'm nearby again someday, I'll definitely pop in and grab a delicious cone. There flavor options were plentiful, whimsical, and flavorful. However, for the time being, I'll just post this review and hope others pop in to enjoy the cones and flavors they're providing.

Usually some high school seniors or college kids on a summer job, I think. Gave my dog a pup cup and water while I worked on my Dole Whip, even giving me no side eye when I spilled some of the water trying to hold all the cups. Every treat I've had there has been great. My fave is the cherry dole whip. They rotate the dole whip flavors weekly I think. If you go midday there's barely a wait, if any. If you go in the summer right after youth softball or baseball games from like 8pm on, the line will be at least 25 deep. But it's worth it. Did I mention cash only?

We brought our friends and family to enjoy. But the last time we came, I was really let down. None of the games were turned on and I have toddlers who got very frustrated until I came to figure it out. If you ever have been to a real arcade you will be left down by the cheap knockoffs that are here. Plus the Pac-Man game had a broken joystick. Best parts: they have two great Lactose flavors and they will sell you cones without ice cream in them. It's a nice place to grab and go, but don't waste time sitting inside.

I was excited about Sticks and Cones because I had worked at a bubble tea + frozen yogurt for years when I was in high school and college. I was quickly disappointed when I got there. I decided to order a bubble tea / boba, not sure what they actually call it on the menu. (Fun fact: east coasters call it bubble tea, and west coasters call it boba!) I ordered the drink with boba, which is denotes the standard tapioca pearls at all other boba establishments I've been to, but there seemed to be confusion when I didn't specifically specify tapioca pearls, so make sure to be specific. The tapioca pearls were very undercooked. The pearls also didn't seem to be in a sweetener, so they were very plain. What really upset me was when my husband ordered the Thai tea. The person behind the counter did not know how to make it, and when they asked how to make it, the response was, "this doesn't use tea, this uses only powder and water." The powder wasn't very high quality, because when mixed with water, it created this creamy and lack of Thai tea taste. I think this is why that at the place I worked at, we also brewed actual Thai tea from tea leaves to mix with the powder. It also took 15 minutes to make for some reason. It seems that boba is becoming very trendy. It's sad that we are losing out on the authenticity of boba drinks. For the frozen yogurt, I appreciated that there were vegan options. However, what was off-putting was that no one would come around to clean the machines, so you're looking at a melted pile of froyo on the grates of the machines. The counters of the store were in general, not wiped down, even though there were at least a few people behind the counter, some of which weren't actively doing anything. The ice cream is from Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, which I love. Sadly, they're a bit frugal with the serving size, or it was mostly that the ice cream was in too large of a container maybe? So it appeared like it was a smaller size. As for the arcade games, it's nice that they're not actually coin-operated, but then the downside is that you get kids monopolizing their time on a machine. For a new store, it was pretty sticky because nothing is being wiped down in between. You can bring your sweet treats to the games.
