We love Firecakes! On this occasion, I stopped by to get a half dozen for National Donut Day. These are definitely a little on the pricey side for donuts (a little over $20 for the half dozen) but it's so worth it! For one, they are LARGE donuts. The quality is impeccable and they are so fresh, even near the end of the day. I love the variety of flavors and unique concepts the do! It's a super cute little spot, it might even be nice to sit and work out of there if that's your thing. There's not too much room but there's a bit community table by the window that seems nice.

This is a small shop packed with donut flavor ! The selection is limited but no worry they have plenty to choose from. I went with the basics . A raised chocolate . Really good frosting! The apple cider donut also had a great texture and satisfying flavor. Okay the coffee... it's worth it ! Enjoy a treat and sit down in this quaint shop . It's cute and comfortable but seating is really limited.

$7 coffee listed for $5 ... the misleading price does not take away from the awesome flavor.

I came in to get my normal iced coffee which has always been about $5... today i paid $7. Your coffee is officially more expensive than me going to starbucks. I'm all about supporting small businesses, but this price increase is insane. Also Its very misleading and unethical to charge customers more for coffee and the price be reflected cheaper on your price board. My cofee was supposed to be $5 as stated on your price board yet ur employees stated the price had increased!!! By $2!!! of course I paid for the coffee without noticing that the price was a lot higher. U need to update your prices immediately because had I known that this coffee would've cost me seven dollars I would've chosen not to purchase it and you cannot be charging customers more and not have a correct price listed on your price board. Coffee is great employees are awesome but you need to get that fixed ASAP. You cannot be charging customers more for the price of an item that reflects cheaper or differently on the price board.

I stopped in for a quick snack and let's just say this ain't no Dunkin! These donuts are fresh and delicious! I happy I went early before they sold out! I grabbed a pistachio donut and it was my first time having it and it did not disappoint! I also had the matcha latte which was delicious!

Every time I visit Firecakes in Oak Park, they always have a great display of donuts, a clean shop and the service is always great. I love their seasonal donuts and I have never been disappointed with my choices. I am not a coffee person so I have not tried their coffee, but the donuts are definitely worth the visit!

Mannnnn these photos are oollddddd, but I miss these chicken sandwiches at @firecakes! I don't even think they still have them on the menu! BUT obviously the donuts & coffee are top tier.

Small donut shop next to the parking garage in downtown Oak Park. Ordered a small latte and this ice cream sandwich after a day shopping in summery July. I appreciate that the menu wasn't overwhelming with about eight types of donuts and four flavors of ice cream/sorbet; a couple of classics with enough unique choices to make it interesting. The twist is you get the ice cream either in a bowl or donut sandwich. Thoroughly enjoyed my choice and it was so filling that I ended up skipping dinner.

Adorable little donut and coffee shop with an appealing design. The young woman at the counter was so kind and friendly. She made suggestions that turned out to be great. We had an iced coffee (good) and three donuts including the seasonal Dulce de leche. It was excellent, filled with a thick caramel cream. We also had a classic vanilla donut and a mixed berry jam donut that were also delicious. Highly recommended.

Located right next to a parking garage and target, the perfect place to stop by to grab a coffee and get some errands done. First time here, I was so mesmerized by the pretty baked goods. Service was good and fast, we were the only ones inside at the time. Cute little shop with minimum seating. Not recommended for any alone studying time. What immediately caught my attention was the old fashion donuts, one of my favorite recipes! Not too many places I know that have pistachio flavor too! Definitely would recommend this place. Coffee was also good for flavor and price. Next time I would probably get a dozen for an occasion and skip out on the drink.

We stopped by here when we were in the area. It was closed for a bit when we first stopped by but it opened up after a bit of waiting. The donuts were good but not mind blowing so they were a bit pricey. The good thing is they're very large so you could split them with someone else. The chocolate valhrona was good. They also have a lot of coffees/hot chocolate.

Overpriced and not really as special as the store appears. Better off getting donuts from Jewel and saving your money.

Some of the food is premade but fresh and sits in a food display case that is ready to be heated after ordering. I came for the gelato! I had mango and raspberry gelato in a small cup for $7. Gelato always seems to be pricey for such a small amount. I thought it was good, but nothing spectacular. Before leaving a decided to get a slice of cheese pizza to go. The pizza was also fine. I wanted to like everything so much more because of the authentic Italian feel of this cafe. I will have to return and possibly try eggplant parm, margherita pizza, or a pasta dish for a more thorough eval before writing this charm full cafe off.

Please make sure you are writing a review for the Touhy Fruity in the HIP MALL. Anyway, this place has GREAT food. The spicy ramen and shrimp springs rolls go hard. Bubble tea is delicious. However, service takes FOREVER. I called in for 3 items, came by around 20 minutes later like they said, and I still had to wait about 10-15 more. Whenever I'm on my break (I work at this mall) and get a bubble tea, I spend half my break just waiting for it. Might as well go to the FroYo place 2 stalls down if I wanted quicker service. If the problem is being understaffed, why not just hire more people? I didn't see a hiring sign anywhere. That being said, although slow, the employees ARE friendly. The girl with red/orange hair who pronounces "cilantro" in a Spanish accent is my favorite. Super kind, very approachable, very cool. Also like the guy who looks to be about in his late 20s-early 30s, pale, facial hair, maybe was a cook? I've only seen him once but I really liked his attitude and the way he spoke to me when orders seemed to get mixed up. NOT a fan of the older man who works here. He made things a little complicated, when I asked him for a mall employee discount he said "Oh, we don't do that anymore. No one does!". ?????. This mall has been doing this for YEARS, what are you talking about? All of a sudden we've stopped? I got the feeling he was lying. When I looked over at the other employee working they also looked at him weird, which confirmed my suspicions. When they were prepping my order he seemed to mix things up and confuse everyone, including me, the person who MADE the order. I will not be ordering if I see this man behind the counter again. Overall, very good establishment, unfortunately some hiccups here and there. Hope the slow service issue is fixed at some point.

This caught me completely by surprise…read more My friend and I just wrapped up having dinner and were looking for a place we could enjoy a desert that was something other than the usual boring ice cream or cake. I looked up Google for ideas and came across the TAJ Coffee House which was only a few minutes away from where we dined. The photos looked impressive, but I had absolutely no idea what was to come. We walked in and were immediately greeted by Shams and Louai. Their warmth and great personalities made my friend and I feel instantly welcomed and valued. To the right of the shop, our eyes were drawn to a wall of gorgeous, colorful Turkish candies which were a mind-blowing experience to behold. This, plus an elegant, large, comfortable sitting area with sumptuous gray cushioned chairs, lovely chandeliers and beautiful decor set TAJ far and above any coffee house we have ever seen --- and we've seen many! When we walked to the counter, Shams and Louai were so helpful and accommodating as we asked questions about all the astonishingly beautiful pastries, cakes and candies in the glass cases before us. Everything in front of us was unbelievably appetizing to the eye and nearly all were items we had never seen before. My friend and I settled on a variety of "Turkish Delights" and "Turkish Sweets" to get out feet wet, and we loved each and every selection we ordered. We ate a pistachio baklava which was the finest we ever had. I also tried a cake which had a dark reddish glaze and was similar to tres leches but far superior. We also sampled a variety of candies and nougats that were transcendent. One candy, in particular, was rolled in dried, chopped rose petals and was my absolute favorite. I had to order a few more to take home. For drinks, we tried their lotus milkshake which was magnificent. The types of drinks TAJ offers is extraordinary. They range from various hot and cold coffees (including Turkish) to iced shaken espressos, matcha drinks, Turkish teas, Dubai chocolate drinks, frappe, smoothies, juices and glorious mojito-style concoctions. As mentioned earlier, my friend and I had no idea what to expect from this but came out of TAJ stunned by the spectacular offerings within. The flavors we encountered were unlike anything we ever experienced before, and we will definitely make the TAJ Coffee House a regular place to savor over and over again. Once more, special recognition must be given to both Shams and Louai. They are ideal ambassadors for TAJ Coffee House and need to be recognized for it. They provided wonderful customer service and were kind, professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. Perfection!

I ordered the Ube Matcha Latte and a small knafeh to go. The service was excellent--the staff patiently answered all of my questions and made me feel welcome. Ube Matcha Latte (3.5/5 ) - I ordered it without ice, so I didn't get the beautiful color gradient I was hoping to see, but it still tasted great. I especially liked that it wasn't overly sweet. Knafeh (4/5 ) - This was my first time trying knafeh. I think it would taste even better if you eat it in the café, where it's served on a hot metal plate that keeps the cheese warm and melted. It has a unique texture--a chewy layer of melted cheese on the bottom, topped with grainy pancake like layer, then finished with crushed pistachios and sweet syrup. It was a fun and delicious dessert to try.
