I'm not always a huge candy person, but anyone that knows me, knows my weakness is caramel...especially salted caramel. Before popping in to this tiny little shop, the best chocolate-covered salted caramels I've ever had were from Paul A Young in London. Whelp, move over Paul, the Chocolate Coated Sea Salt Caramels from La Maison de Bonbon have yours beat. They are absolute perfection! The perfect ratio of chocolate to caramel to salt, and the texture is decadent. So, if you happen to be wandering the main street of Forest Park, do yourself a favor and pop in to La Maison de Bonbon. As Monk says, "you can thank me later!"

I got 3 boxes of this chocolates near Christmas and this was the best gift I could have gotten. Omg the truffles were amazing! There were a variety of chocolates with different combinations of flavors. One of the best chocolates I have tried in Chicago so far.

Cute little shop. I've tried the French cremes and milk chocolate turtles and both were delightful. I would describe the flavor of the French Creme to be a cross between chocolate and caramel. FYI: They have a short shelf life because they have no preservatives.

While sipping on an excellent Bloody Mary on the outdoor patio at Shanahans I spied upon this hidden house of cremes and chocolates. For a taste treat get a small 16 pc box. From the salted dark chocolate caramels to the champagne truffles you aren't going to go wrong. They also have some salt water taffy, hard candies and wine. All are neatly presented. Go ahead - take the box and sit out on the patio and have a glass of red or Stella and let those creamy treats melt in your mouth (not in your hand). Imagine you are in the Big Easy.

People in Amsterdam will also ask if you have done a canal boat tour - and you have to do these when you visit these cities. Our docent volunteer guide, Steve, was excellent. He was very personable and extremely knowledgeable about the city's riverside buildings and its history. The boat staff was also hardworking and ready to help with any issues, from getting a drink at the boat's downstairs bar to handing out covers when the rain hit us. For what we paid, the 1.5 hour tour was more than worth it. I recommend sitting at the top towards the back, as you don't have to crane your neck as much when he points out places of interest. This was a truly wonderful experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Not a must see or do attraction but a great day filler activity as you explore the city. Loved the wealth of information they offer as it's valuable to understand Chicagos importance from the ground up! I thought it would be more about highlighting the amazing architectural buildings around the city but nothing like that. It's was more about the environmental impact the city has and the hurdles when designing buildings around town. The staff were friendly at check in and provided great service overall as they were kind and helpful. Small center that you may explore at your own pace and may or may not be worth the admission price. But scoring free tickets it allowed us to be selective in our day or day plans to include the activity to pay it a visit!
