I've lived about this store for the past two years, and I have to say it's been less than great…read more The store itself is nothing to shake a stick at - grim look on the outside and not very clean on the inside. The counter area is littered with lotto tickets that, well, didn't work out so well. The man behind the counter is nice, but it doesn't make up for the lack of cleanliness. All of the items in the store are purchased at costco, then resold at the store. So when you buy a case of water, you're just paying for each water bottle individually. Yes, a case of water is $25.00. The store is there to sell lotto tickets and that's it, literally, that's it. They've sold a million dollar ticket and that's why people still come in the store, to chase their crazy dreams of making money the easy way. My advice to you is to walk the extra 10 minutes to the 7-11. Pro Tip - They don't sell alcohol here either, at least give us something!

Chicago is a city of great corner stores. In many neighborhoods corner stores are experiencing a…read morebit of a renaissance, with interesting beer selections and fresh, local foods becoming common place. Sadly, my local store does not seem to follow that trend. The selection here is pitiful. They have an entire aisle dedicated to pet food, but good luck finding olive oil. On at least two occasions I've grabbed milk or OJ from their fridge, only to later realize it will expire the next day. The hours are also terrible for a corner store. They claim to be open until 8pm, but many nights they are closed by 7:30. This basically means I can never shop there, since I can't rely on them being open on my way home from work. I could go on forever about how this place sucks. They don't sell alcohol. Don't take credit cards. Ugh. I'm getting mad just thinking about this place. If I had any other alternative I would never step foot in America's Pantry. 2 stars for the staffs always friendly attitude. But a smile only goes so far.

Passed by this place while going for a run and had to stop in. Whoops…read more The actual store really isn't that big, but I still spent a ton of time browsing (and drooling over) all the wonderful candy. Chocolate, nuts, gift boxes, bulk orders--whatever you want, they've got it. I left with half a pound each of milk chocolate malt balls and strawberry yogurt covered raisins. Also, when you buy from the bulk bins, the very-sweet candy lady gives you a handful of candy to sample. You know, to juice up for your run. Duh.

Located right off the Kimball ramp of the Kennedy Expressway, and just one block south of the Home Depot at Kimball and Addison. The prices are fantastic. The employees are just the kind of people who should be working in a candy store-very sweet. They have chocolate covered everything here: nuts, berries, pretzels, plus those yogurt-covered candies, bags of whole nuts (cashews at $5.99 a lb.), chocolate and yogurt coated caramel and nut patties, and lot's of very reasonably priced holiday and gift packaged items. Many are between $5-10.00. (Great picks for those folks you don't really like but for some reason you need to give them a gift.) Or stocking stuffers. I acted as my own parent here and said: "OK, now you can buy one thing here, just ONE!" I ended up with a nice large bag of something I know I will eat in one day once I start on them: Chocolate-coated sponge candy. An 11 ounce bag for $5.14! Such a deal. If I'm a good boy this week, perhaps my inner parent will let me go back for more goodies!

These are the most tender flavorful gummy bears I've ever had bar none, they are so addicting, if you buy these or the gummy worms buy lots of them or regret it as soon as you pop the last one in your mouth. I recently attended an event where there were boxes of these sample size packages - everyone was hoarding them. I grabbed a few packages to enjoy later and then decided to open a pack to enjoy at the event. I didn't really think about them again until I got to my office and started unloading my pockets and began filling my desk drawer - I pulled up the news feed on my computer and grabbed a few package to snack on while watching - after about 15 minutes I decided to wrap things up and noticed quite a few empty packages on my desk, okay maybe a few more than quite a few, they are that good, like none other - I don't know exactly where I can buy these or order them online but I'll definitely figure it out...

Their selection, as with most liqua stoze in da ghetto, is sub-lame. Minus points for closing early-ish and for the sometimes surly family that owns the place...the one son tried to rip me off once, and another time I came in to buy a bag of chips and he couldn't (or wouldn't) change a FIVE dollar bill. Huh? I'll generally walk to the other shitty liquor store in my vicinity, just to NOT give this place business, usually, though they're at least as pricey.
