Omg so much fun. This place is awesome. Went for the first time been wanting to go for a while. The soft serve was so rich and creamy definitely one of my new faves. I think all of you should try it the lady is so nice. There's a ton of stuff from the olden days fun candies, treats to try. Ice cream was from Homers who doesn't like some Homers, It's a cute little place. Definitely fun atmosphere. Parking was a lil unique. But it was close to the door. So I went in to pick up some various types of gum for my 8 year old niece for part of her birthday present (it's her latest candy obsession). First of all they have an AMAZING selection. I was blown away! So many nostalgic candies and sweets! Secondly, SweetSpot was able to take my selection of bubble gum candies and turn it into a BEAUTIFUL candy bouquet for a small charge. Went to the SweetSpot tent at the Polo Match yesterday! They had every candy imaginable from novelty pieces to current new favorites. This place is amazing. It reminds me of an old fashion mom & pop store and it brings bavk so many childhood memories. We take the kids here for all the different kinds of candy & homemade ice cream (superman ice cream) is my fav. WAIT actually I've tasted a few of the ice creams & they're AMAZINGLY good. I highly recommend this place for a family treat or to treat yourself. To go along with all the GREAT stuff....the customer service is by far the best around. The Sweet Spot is a cute little shop right off of Lake Cook Rd. in Barrington. The first couple of times I drove by, I overlooked the candy shop because it looks like a little house. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it. After trying the amazing gummy bears here, I will never just drive by again! Be forewarned, they close early! read more

Really Bad Experience with multiple problems on our one and only visit to Sweet Spot... My wife and I wanted to visit the new candy store that we heard was in downtown Barrington. We live some distance away, so I checked their website first, and verified that they were open until 7pm for the Saturday we were going to visit. When we arrived at the store, my wife pointed out to me that the sign on the door that showed the operating hours did show they were open until 7pm. At this point, it was a few minutes after 4pm. We started looking around inside. There was one other customer in the shop at the time we arrived, as well as one employee working that we could see. We had been looking around for 2 or 3 minutes when the woman employee mentioned to us that she was trying to wrap things up so they could close the store. I looked at the time, and it was 4:07pm. I said I thought you were open until 7pm. The woman replied well it's SPRING BREAK.... We don't live in the area, and we drove a while to get to the store, so I was surprised that they were closing, especially when we had verified with two sources that they were open until 7pm (website and opening hours on door). I could not figure out what the fact that it is SPRING BREAK has to do with closing a business early, so I asked what time are you closing? She replied 5pm, but acted as if she needed us to leave as soon as possible. My wife and I quickly picked out a few things, but did not really get a chance to explore the store as we intended. When we left, I noted that the time was 4:19pm, so I hope that gave this woman enough time to shut down the business. It was Spring Break after all!?!?! We wanted to try out the ice cream which was talked about on the website, but when we arrived, we found that Sweet Spot in fact had absolutely no ice cream. The freezer was empty. I did notice that they had about 50 packages of nacho chips available, so if the next time you are at the candy store, you are in the mood for nachos, you will be all set. I don't really get the connection here. When we got home, I got to thinking, we only bought a few things, I could not figure out how it could have cost us almost $15. I reviewed our receipt, and discovered that on 3 of our 6 items we had been OVERCHARGED $1.00 on each item. On two items that were supposed to be charged $1.99 each, we were charged $2.99 each. On one item that we were supposed to be charged $2.99, we were charged $3.99. I'm not sure if all the prices automatically go up when you arrive within 3 hours of the posted closing time, when it is SPRING BREAK, or just when the employee feels like overcharging you because she wants to. As you can tell, we were not happy with our visit to Sweet Spot in any way. We will not be returning, and we do not recommend it to anyone. With the type of Customer Service we received, I can't imagine how they will be able to stay in business very long. read more

It is a cute neighborhood store. it has soft serve and homemade ice cream, bagged candy, and even popcorn! They also have a gift section and make baskets for any occasion for delivery if you want. I have to tell you what a great store this is. I started going into this store back in 2011 when my husband started working in Barrington. The first big event we did with them was our Wedding in 2012. The best experience and have used them for our daughters Sweet 16, and a combined graduation party. The owner Doreen is so kind. She has helped me raise money for the CCFA Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis. She is also a proud sponsor of our HOPE,FAITH,CURE FOUNDATION.
