The donuts were fresh and chewy, with a light glaze frosting, not cakey or overly sweet. This is a sweet space, pastel pink, with an ivy-decorated wall and about six small tables. The service was very friendly and they were kind of surprised at how excited I was they were finally open. It's mostly set up to take out, although they have a small amount of seating. I took my food to go and I was home in about eight minutes. By the time I got home I had eaten all the shumai. I thought the pork was much better than the shrimp and the pork was just OK. Unfortunately the buns were...not good. I couldn't recommend any of the three I tried based on that visit. I'm hoping they were just beyond their freshness (I was there after the actual lunch hour), so overall I was disappointed in everything I tasted. The cashier (long black hair) she had an unfriendly attitude from the start--no greeting, no smile, and it felt like she was already irritated. What made it worse was how both the cashier and the owner spoke to me. They raised their voices instead of helping. There was a promotion for 3 bakery items for $5. I accidentally selected 7 items instead of 6, and I clearly told them multiple times that I only wanted 6 and did NOT want the extra item. Instead of fixing a simple mistake calmly, they kept raising their tone at me, which was unnecessary and uncomfortable. As a customer, I expect basic respect and professionalism. This situation could have been handled politely in seconds, but instead it turned into a negative experience. I won't be returning, and I hope management seriously works on customer service.
