Calibre Coffee - A Cozy Favorite If I had a chance to stop by Calibre Coffee, I'd always choose it. The place may not be that big, a typical size, but it has such a comforting atmosphere. There's also a terrace outside where you can sit, especially in the summertime -- it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the day. What really makes this place special is how they prepare their drinks -- whether it's coffee, tea, or a latte. I especially love their lattes; every cup is made with care and consistent quality. I truly appreciate that attention to detail. I hope they continue maintaining that same standard. To the owner -- kudos!
Clean inside, small selection of baked goods. I had a biscoff latte and an almond croissant. The latte cost $7.50 and was their smallest size which was a bit pricey but their baristas know how to steam milk. I don't get many lattes that have perfectly creamy milk that hasn't entered cappuccino territory. The espresso was mild and worked well in the drink, although, I may have been disappointed had it been a plain latte. The croissant looked like it was provided by a bakery or was purchased elsewhere, it was delicious though! Coffee shops are a dime a dozen these days but they have a good cup, I recommend it.
It has been some time since I have reviewed Calibre' yet the experience, drinks and service is still 5-star in my book. I return to Calibre' for the pleasing atmosphere to have a meeting or get some work done. In warm months, I can sit on the pet-friendly patio and sip my favorite ube latte, while my dogs chill in the shade of the awning. The servers are always friendly and make solid menu suggestions, if you're not sure what you want. The pastries are fresh and especially delicious warmed up. Tables and restrooms are typically kept very clean. There can be a bit of a wait for your drink on a busy Saturday or Sunday morning, so plan extra time if you need to be someplace. Enjoy some very good teas here too.
Calibrè Coffee never disappoints! I tried their Ube Matcha and Ube Coffee, and both were amazing--creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The baristas are super friendly, and the cafe has such a cozy vibe. Definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for unique, delicious drinks! Support small Filipino businesses--this one is a must-visit!
My friend told me about this place so I had to come try it. A really cool vibe inside, but the first time I came I saw they had lattes or drinks from various countries. I had to go with the Ube iced latte since I am Filipino. Honestly it's one of the best lattes I have ordered, I ordered it with oat milk, but that Ube cream at the bottom was so good! I actually came back a week later and tried a new drink called the strawberry Calpico with is basically a strawberry matcha. The cold foam was a strawberry cream and even more strawberry goodness at the bottom.. This was my first strawberry matcha I have ordered and I thought it was pretty good. This was inspired by a Japanese drink I believe. This place has been a little packed the last few times I've came, but it's definitely worth the wait! Excited to come back to try even more!
Calibre Coffee is a quant yet modern coffee shop in the middle of South Barrington's Arboretum Shopping Center. Upon arrival, a staff member let us know that the area had a power outage about 30 minutes prior so there may be a 10-15 minute delay. This was no issue at all as staff was HUSTLING! Please also be prepared that menu offerings of drinks and food seem limited/niche. The good news is what they make, they make very well! I've never had a latte with foam art before and it was a beautiful touch. My latte was delicious and not too hot. There was plenty of seating for the shop's size so this is the perfect place to grab a drink with a friend. It was also notably family friendly and had no issues with acoustics. While my caramel latte with oat milk was $8.53 (a bit of a premium) it was great quality of coffee and flavor!
Always a great time to wander the arboretum and visit the pet stores nearby and grab an ube latte from Calibre. The international coffees keep making me come back to try them all, and it's not something that any old coffee shop has on their menu. I also like the plentiful outdoor seating so I can bring my girls to enjoy a cup with me and share a croissant with them!
A cute and cozy coffee shop with a few food items. Food here is on the pricey side so I stuck to a very strong drink instead. I got the cortadito and I will NOT be needing anymore caffeine for the day, haha. It is a creamy espresso drink that taste delightful. Don't let how small the drink is fool you, it is strong and will keep you wired. The service and staff was good - staff was friendly and patient. It took me awhile to decide what I wanted and I didn't feel like I was being rushed. The menu is pretty diverse so make sure to ask any questions you might have before ordering. Calibre has seating inside and this can be a great coffee date spot or a spot where you grab a book or your work laptop and hang out here for a few hours. There is music in the background so if you need a place where it is completely quiet - this place isn't for you. Overall I enjoyed the cortadito and my gal pal coffee date here! I would order this drink again for sure
This is probably the best coffee shop I've been to when visiting the suburbs of Chicago. We tried the brown sugar maple and cafe con Leche. Both had a wonderful flavor, quality coffee bean taste, and just the right amount of sweetness. There's a board when you walk in that lists a variety of international coffee styles that they can make, from the popular Italian or French styles to the not so often offered Australian and Greek styles.
My parents had heard good things about the coffee here, so we had to stop by and have some coffee with our dessert. I loved the concept of the coffee drinks from around the world - my dad got the cafe con leche, and I got the Ube latte. The espresso in these drinks were so good and of great quality. My latte was definitely on the sweeter side, so next time I'll have to just try some drip coffee or a lighter espresso drink! The space is big though and a great place to spend the afternoon.
Drove from Chicago to Huntley to visit family and desperately needed coffee on the way. Did a quick search for a non-chain spot and Calibre was very convenient. The 2 baristas working were very friendly, greeted me right away and made the drinks quickly. I got the biscoff iced latte, which is something I've had many times at other places. I really like that theirs isn't overly sweet, it doesn't have a ton of whip or cookie crumbles or syrup coating the sides which is what I prefer. The ube latte is sweeter but also not overly sweet like other places do. We ordered 16 oz but were given 20 oz cups, the barista said they were out of smaller cups. I think because of this they actually added more milk too, because the coffee taste was very light. I wish there was less milk or more espresso. Prices were high, $17 for 2 drinks is steep for the burbs. I'd come back, but I'd probably get an extra shot or ask for less milk. read more

Hands down my favorite coffee shop to go to when I'm back in town. Amazing matcha, great staff, super inviting atmosphere. Love the vibes there truly. Couldn't recommend this spot enough. The matcha itself tastes incredible. I also recently tried the ube matcha, fire. read more

We got the iced chai latte and the iced Leanna coffee. So delicious! The barista who helped us was very kind, the service was quick, and the outdoor seating with shade is beautiful. Definitely have to come back! read more

What a nice little coffee shop in Hoffman Estates that was very accommodating . I am not a coffee drinker, but I needed somewhere I do some work on my laptop. I ordered a café con leche just to have something to sip on. I am clueless about what good coffee is so I can't comment on if it was good or not. The presentation looked nice though! I did have trouble getting onto the wifi and had to use my phone as a hotspot. I was there for a few hours and no one bothered me as I worked which was nice. read more

I have to say that Calibre is my favorite coffee shop in Illinois. I am a coffee connoisseur - coffee is my love language. I'll probably tell my family to engrave a cup of coffee on my tombstone. A lot of times when I'm at a coffee shop I'll place an order and honestly cross my fingers and hope for the best. Unfortunately my hopes are never held high because every coffee is slightly underwhelming. Whether the beans taste burnt, the coffee is weak, watered down, stale, you name it... but not Calibre. Never Calibre. I'll place an order and no matter what it is, no matter how basic my order is, the coffee always shocks me with how good it is. It is always perfect. I can't say that about any other establishment. I absolutely love this place. Also, Rosie's Gluten Free Sweets are amazing. I love the friands that they carry - they are little delicious pucks of cake that have a nice little crisp on the edges but they melt in your mouth - unexpectedly so. They feel dense so you wouldn't expect them to be as moist as they are, but holy moly are they delicious. Also, their scones are phenomenal. Another pastry that tricks you - you would think it's your average dry, heavy scone (no hate, I love scones) but these are actually surprisingly soft and moist as well. A fantastic texture for a scone. I love the blueberry lemon. read more

Love me some ube, especially some ube latte. The purple concoction mixed with espresso looks so pretty and taste delish. On the days where I don't need caffeine, I've done ube steamers which satisfies my fix. I will say some days the ube is more distinct some days it's more subtle. Other days it's sweet and some days I need to add a little more sweetener. I just wish there was a bit more consistency... read more
Love their coffees! It's a cute little coffee shop with plenty of parking and some pasteurized. I got the spinach feta pastry ( ate it before getting a picture) and the con or leche coffee. It was really good that I got a second cup of the con de leche! read more

My husband and I arrived to the Arboretum early and had some time to spend before meeting friends for dinner. We were looking for a coffee shop in the shopping center and found Calibre Coffee, and I am glad that we did. When you step inside the front door, you can tell that this isn't your average coffee shop. I ordered the hot chocolate and my husband had the coffee with cream and sugar. The hot chocolate had a distinct and bold taste to it. The chocolate flavor really came through. Much better than hot chocolates that I've ordered elsewhere. When I tried my husband's coffee the first thing that I noticed was how smooth it was. Beyond the drinks, the coffee house has a great atmosphere. I could definitely see working remotely from here. The next time that I come it will be on purpose to try more drinks and some of the food. read more
Came in to find a coffee shop that was open on a thursday afternoon. Coming in the crowd seems like good mix of people working from home, reading a book or doing homework. Ordered the UBE latte and it was delicious can definitely see myself coming here more often when I need caffeine. If your looking for a coffee shop that offers alot of seating and the noise level is not bad considering the amount of people. read more

This neighborhood gem is a find! Located in the Arboretum of South Barrington. My friend and I visited here on a Saturday morning and the place was hopping with a great energy vibe. Regular and unusual coffee drinks served by a friendly engaging and knowledgeable staff. Not a coffee or tea drinker? That's okay there is a refrigerated section with bottled and canned beverages. Beautiful looking cookies and snacks too! Great place to meet a friend for a beverage or come with your family in a super comfy inviting place. Will definitely be coming back soon to try something else on the coffee board or a recommendation from the stellar barista! Come and support this amazing small business and become a regular like I plan to be. read more
4.5 stars A great little spot within the Arboretum in South Barrington. Easy parking. Easy in and out. The place is well designed and very cool inside. I loved the "Coffee Board" which showed all the countries the coffees came from. They offer a large variety of coffees and many of them unique. They even have pour over coffee!!! Everything is great overall. The coffee was outstanding; what I would call a perfect brew. I had a latte. It had an intense and aromatic flavor. I loved it. The reason for the 4.5 stars? The service is too slow. If you are there to luxuriate over your morning cup of Joe, this is the perfect place for your morning caffeine drive. If you are in a rush- it's not the place to be. The server was awesome and super nice (and cute!) but this is not a practical place if you are off to work/ in a time crunch. Having a hand-crafted coffee is indeed a treat but if I lived nearby, I would want this coffee everyday. And I'd want it in a rush. Overall: definitely go here and enjoy their thrilling coffee. read more

Really nice coffee shop. The chai latte was delicious and the service was efficient. It was a little loud since the place was crowded at some point but enjoyable! There are several restaurants and shops around it that you could also visit! read more

I ordered a chai latte and a macchiato. My chai latte was so flavorful and because I added espresso, there was a good kick. My macchiato on the other hand was $5+ dollars of course, but when i picked it up, it was extremely small and less than half full. I was not impressed with the flavor at all and it was way too expensive for the amount. read more
