Another option in Long Grove for candy (they carry See's) & baked goods (we got tasty donuts and hot apple cider, but watch carefully because we ordered three donuts and they only gave us two!) Yet another place in town with stairs to navigate, so be careful!

What an awesome, full featured confectionery shop. The prices aren't cheap but you can tell with…read moreevery bite that you're getting delicious, high quality treats. The decor in here is super cute, with all the different products being displayed in an organized and attractive manner. This alone makes this a more fun shopping experience than buying candy from a standard grocery store. At times, it may be difficult to determine the price of different items, but the staff is very helpful with helping shoppers navigate their way around the store. There is definitely something for everyone here, but this is especially good if you are a chocolate lover as there's a very wide assortment of available options here. This is particularly true if you're into truffles, with some interesting options such as jalapeno margarita, tiramisu, rum, and others in addition to the usual selection of fruit, coffee, caramel, etc. flavors. This is also a great spot to get interesting looking gifts. Outside of the usual gift boxes and tins, you'll find chocolate in fun shapes (like birthday cake), seasonal confection options with cute decorations, pretzels, nuts, chocolate pops, gummies, and more. Overall, this is a great place to shop for delicious sweets and competitive in price to other premium candy shops. If you're looking for something unique in both design and flavor, definitely come here versus going to a chain store.

There is a wide variety of chocolate, donuts, and other confections to choose from. A true chocolate lovers paradise. We got the chocolate dipped cookie sandwiches and peanut butter meltaways. They are phenomenal. The cashier was friendly and pleasant to talk to. Plus it feels good to support a small local business. I highly recommend Long Grove Confectionery!

Found this gem while visiting my parents in the northwest suburbs. I was looking for a donut and…read moredidn't expect to find one so tasty. The chocolate (fudge) frosting on the donuts is delicious. Both cake and yeast donuts are great choices. The Bavarian cream is a welcome treat and there is a rotating donut flavor of the week. It's actually a chocolate shop and the chocolate didn't disappoint. There is a wide variety and both the fillings and chocolates themselves are creamy and flavorful. I've gone back multiple times. The service is also very friendly. While you pay a bit of a premium, it's worth it for the quality.

I've learned of this place from my realtor, of all people. When she brought a box of donuts from…read moreMorkes, we knew the place had to have solid mission and pride for their products. My wife and I had always wanted to visit them ever since then and we finally did after about 10 months. The place was small and charming with lots of neeat chocolate creations, as one would expect. We sampled a couple different chocolate pieces and as far as I can tell, they were good. I say that only because I'm not a huge chocolate person, and I don't have a huge gauge on what's good vs great. Since our main purpose of the visit was for donuts, we went ahead and orderes half dozen "premium" donuts. Turns out, the box that was gifted to us was a custom mix of their premium selections, which are fancier donut creations that require a bit more finesse and efforts for them to create. Apparently, you need to order ahead if you want to have a good mix of a dozen, which we didn't know. So we ended up picking from the available ones. They were still a good variety. I don't actively seek out donuts, but if I craved one, I'd definitely seek out Morkes.
