a display of sweets

A candy lovers dream! From taffy's, to gummies, to chocolates, oh my! The options are endless! This locally opened candy shop is a hidden gem in Long Grove. When you walk in you immediately smell the sweetness of the chocolate and as you walk up and down the aisle you see all of the nostalgic candies through the decades. But the best part? Going to the counter and seeing their hand dipped chocolates - the sea salt caramels are incredible! A must visit if you're craving something sweet! They also have these adorable sweets themed plushies that I had to keep my hands off of or I would've come home with all of them! They also have a rewards program where you can collect points and earn freebies and discounts. :)

I'm obsessed with this cute little shop! I love love loooooove it because they have all types of old school candy! I have been visiting this shop annually since I was like 2 years old, and even now I need to visit anytime I visit Long Grove, which is usually during the fests. I remember this place having much more candy before than it does now, but maybe it was just my young mind thinking I was at Candy Mountain. They have buckets of different types of candy here, and little white bags you can fill yourself. The price is $4 for half a pound, which isnt bad because you can mix and match anything you want. They also sell candy with different prices because they aren't meant to be put in the bag. Some candies they sell include Toxic Waste (similar to Warheads), Air Heads, mini Reese's cups, taffy, Tootsie Rolls, Atomic Balls, Jawbreakers, bubblegum, Dum Dums, and Now and Later. Ma and Pa's also has fudge.... what more can you want in a candy store???

Cute little candy store located in Long Grove. It's got a very nice old fashioned charm to it, offering candy styles that many have not seen in a while (and for people like me, have never seen at all). Many of these are items are quite a bit softer and softer than we're used to for candy now, and made with real sugar instead of corn syrup. Prices are a bit on the high side, but that's too be expected for a candy selection that's a bit harder to find. Presentation is really colorful and the decor really fits the look and feel of the town. Definitely worth a visit if you're visiting Long Grove and looking for something sweet.

WHOA! Now THIS is a candy shop! Stepping into Ma and Pa's Candy is like going back in time. The store is jam-packed with sugary goodies: candy buttons, giant lollipops, bubble gum, chocolates, gummies, and so much more. Dozens of buckets of every kind of individually wrapped candy that you can think of line the aisles. You can pick a bag and just put as much as you want in there from the buckets -- the candies are priced by weight. Jars of other candies (gummies, candy corn, etc.) are near the front counter for them to scoop out for you (also priced by weight). A chocolate counter greets you near the checkout line. All the other candies are arranged in colorful displays throughout the store. Willy Wonka would have fun here. I. WANTED. EVERYTHING. It was so hard to limit myself to just a small selection, but I managed to do it. I walked out of that store with a white bag of candy in my hand and a smile on my face.

Love this little store! New owners are delightful and ready to help! They have a great selection of novelty candies, and lots of wrapped candies. We went in search of Whirley Pop lollipops and they had a great selection! Lots of different sizes and flavors! We love to shop local when we can and drove about 30 minutes to shop here - totally worth it! Made a 20th birthday basket for our son - he's going to love it!

Adorable store filled wall-to-wall with candy. I LOVE this store. So many types of candy - old school candy, new brands, fresh delicious chocolate confections displayed beautifully at the front of the store in a cute display case. A TON of gummies of different shapes, flavors. I found candy I never even knew existed, like strawberry bulls-eyes and strawberry cowtails. I walked out of there with a big bag full of mixed candy, chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries all for about $35. Such a bargain! Can't believe I didn't find his store until now after so many trips to Long Grove...It is at the TOP of my list Long Grove shopping from now on!

Fresh cotton candy and vintage candies!

It look like family working there because a kid was working the chocolate case and parents were handling the checkout.

The decor in here is super cute, with all the different products being displayed in an organized and attractive manner. This alone makes this a more fun shopping experience than buying candy from a standard grocery store. At times, it may be difficult to determine the price of different items, but the staff is very helpful with helping shoppers navigate their way around the store. There is definitely something for everyone here, but this is especially good if you are a chocolate lover as there's a very wide assortment of available options here. This is particularly true if you're into truffles, with some interesting options such as jalapeno margarita, tiramisu, rum, and others in addition to the usual selection of fruit, coffee, caramel, etc. flavors. This is also a great spot to get interesting looking gifts. Outside of the usual gift boxes and tins, you'll find chocolate in fun shapes (like birthday cake), seasonal confection options with cute decorations, pretzels, nuts, chocolate pops, gummies, and more. Overall, this is a great place to shop for delicious sweets and competitive in price to other premium candy shops. If you're looking for something unique in both design and flavor, definitely come here versus going to a chain store.

My wife and I had always wanted to visit them ever since then and we finally did after about 10 months. The place was small and charming with lots of neeat chocolate creations, as one would expect. We sampled a couple different chocolate pieces and as far as I can tell, they were good. I say that only because I'm not a huge chocolate person, and I don't have a huge gauge on what's good vs great. Since our main purpose of the visit was for donuts, we went ahead and orderes half dozen "premium" donuts. Turns out, the box that was gifted to us was a custom mix of their premium selections, which are fancier donut creations that require a bit more finesse and efforts for them to create. Apparently, you need to order ahead if you want to have a good mix of a dozen, which we didn't know. So we ended up picking from the available ones. They were still a good variety. I don't actively seek out donuts, but if I craved one, I'd definitely seek out Morkes.

Being that it's winter I have to wash our jackets immediately after to rid the smell. I haven't seen many reviews that mention it though, do others not notice it? I am embarrassed to go to other stores or activities afterwards. Sometimes when we go inside the cafe the air is thick and cloudy. Unfortunately this is my daughter's favorite spot, and I can't deny that the food, drinks, and chocolates are great which are mentioned in detail in everyone else's reviews. Service is hit or miss depending on who's working but can generally expect it to be cold. However, all the people who work there work extremely hard in a tight space to take orders and cook. Perhaps they aren't trying to be rude but are just busy. I do want to recommend the tomato and basil soup. It's so good and comes with a delicious cheese toast. It's the best when the cheese is melted off the bread and crispy! You can get an extra cheese toast for $2.
