This is a fun place to visit for some decadent treats and gifts. I have tasted their chocolates before but never had their sweet and rich donuts. The donuts were very moist and fresh and everyone I shared them with were raving about the flavors they tried. The caramel pecan donut is my favorite. I also wanted some unique chocolates to bring for an upcoming girls weekend and picked up some cute items in their Celebrations section near the back wall. I visited around 11:30 am on a Sunday so there were a lot of cars parked near the Brunch Cafe' and in the parking lot, but I found street parking in a free, 2 hour maximum spot down the street. It was fun to also see seasonal items decorated with St. Patrick's Day and Easter themes already in the store. Amazing this place was so great. I went before work to get donuts for m coworkers. It was a cute shop and there was two groups of people enjoying some time together. They had the most amazing donuts fresh and not greasy like most other stores. The flavors they had to choose from were fun and unique. They also have some gluten free options of treats. They have hand made chocolate I got a few for another day and finally ate them the chocolate was good and creamy. The raspberry had a nice flavor profile. All I can say on the donuts is drool drool. I love this place!!! Always something to find to fulfill my sweet tooth. I love the chocolate store in the middle of Huntley. Grab a donut and something to drink with a friend. There's a lot of good stuff here! The chocolate is delicious. We had a bunch of truffles... all amazing! We tried the almond cluster, chocolate covered marshmallow, and the coconut cream. The truffles are weighed versus charged by the piece, which made for a lower cost than I was expecting, so I also bought a gluten-free whoopie pie, which my wife loved. The staff was helpful with questions and were patient as we roamed the store for a time before buying. I was sad that we came late in the day, because I missed the donuts. Also, though I haven't experienced it myself, my wife has been here to attend a chocolate making class. She said it was a lot of fun and would come back. So my wife will be back for the training and chocolate and I'll be back for the donuts and undoubtedly I'll upgrade this review to 5-stars. read more

Great and weighty donuts here not on the Amish level but still better than Dunkin! TONS of chocolate confections here for chocolate lovers in what I think is the downtown of Huntley so some bars across the street etc. I guess I found where there's stuff going on in Huntley besides the legendary Turkey Testicle Festival. I find fun and explore EVERYWHERE and anywhere unlike 99.9% of the devil flipped percentage upside down status quo, guess the Amish would love me in a way. Fabulous, wonderful, amazing and Gem of a place. So walking in you are over taken with all the wonderful chocolates and decor it is better than Willy Wonka. Seriously it was magical, I wanted it all. Arrived 2/12/24 @ 1:35pm to try to pick up some Paczkis for Fat Tuesday. 2 customers in the shop, 3 young girls behind the counter and 4 adults. Waited for a couple of minutes but everyone seems to be catering to this one customer who was on the phone telling the girls she wanted this and that wrapped. I said kind of loud, Hello but everyone seemed to be busy with this one customer. Another customer walked in seemed to have the same problem being waited on. Seriously, Morke counter staff, does it take that long and that many to wait in one customer? That said, your chocolate creations have always been superior but please train your staff to do better on waiting on your customers, there were only 2 total customers waiting to be served. It doesn't take 7 people to wait on one customer. read more

They were training a new person when I was in and they could not have been nicer or more positive with her. Went as a guest to a "gingerbread" chocolate house decorating party - it was a nice and fun as it was two years ago when we hosted two private parties. Party coordinator did a great job especially given the wide range of ages of the house decorators (literally 6 to 70). Our group had 7 people and we were joined by about 6 other "new" friends. So no worries if you don't have a large group - Morkees puts groups together and does a great job of making people comfortable. You leave with an adorable chocolate "gingerbread" house and there are plenty for cute photo ops. Super fun way to spend the afternoon - making memories and enjoying chocolate. Win win! read more

Wow! Walk in this place and the smell will make a cold heart melt. Its a mix of chocolate, candies, muffins and coffee... just all the good things that make this world go around. It's clean and they have cute little round tables inside and out. The displays are too many to count and well organized. It seems Morkes has all the chocolate molds invented. Numbers, animals, sports, Queens/princess etc. flowers, characters, you name it they seem to have it. This is the third/fourth time I've been here usually around the same time on Saturday afternoons. I did not watch, as they were packaged, so as soon as I got home, I was super disappointed to see how they were smashed into a small container. A couple weeks ago I wanted to surprise my two friends with some donuts. I ordered through Door Dash, and for each friend I ordered 3 vanilla donuts - vanilla frosted, chocolate frosted, cinnamon crumb and in "special request" I had asked if they can write "Thank you for being my friend " just anywhere on the packaging. I stopped in here the other day to use a gift card that one of my clients gave me. It was really hard to decide what I wanted to get, but I ended up going with a few Irish Cream truffles and one of the donuts and they were so good! The donuts are roughly a dollar each for mid sized donuts. The parking is very convenient in the back of the store. There is a wide variety of different donuts are all very delicious and tasty. This place is quaint in the old part of Huntley. Chocolate galore. If you can't satisfy your sweet tooth here, I don't know where. I didn't see the old location but this one looks really really nice. However, there's a couple things not so nice. I went in on Valentine's Day to get Poonchkies. I told the elderly woman at the cash register I was looking for those. She pointed at the glass case and said"that's all we got, oh and these four behind me. I asked what flavors were left. She was clearly annoyed and I wanted to buy and get out because she's not very helpful. Bought a half dozen at full price. When I got home, I ate one and it was at least a day old. Very dry and obviously not fresh. My advice, don't sell day old donuts for full price! That's bullshit and ya know it read more

The chocolate here is very good and they always have a wide variety of novelties, however, the last two times that I have been here they have had a very limited selection of truffles. In times past (before they moved from Algonquin to Huntley) they would actually have prepackaged boxes of different varieties of chocolates as well as selections in the case where you could choose your own for a custom assortment. Now they don't seem to have prepackaged boxes or a wide selection in the case. Both times (and these were months apart) they gave excuses about why they didn't have chocolate. This last time was several days before Christmas. Can't believe you're not prepared for a holiday like Christmas. I really prefer doing business at locally owned establishments, unfortunately they have steered my business elsewhere. read more
