I've heard about this bakery in Huntley a few times at work and wanted to check it out. There is a really good selection of deserts and everyone seemed nice and helpful. I really wanted to like more of the items I bought and I either had a problem with freshness or flavor. To be fair I did buy cake at a reduced price off the table and that was not expected to be as fresh, but my cookies were from out of the case and didn't seem to be. Wasn't a fan of the cheesecake or the key lime pie cups. Out of everything I tried I loved the huge cinnamon rolls. The rolls were soft, sweet, filled with cinnamon, and a little buttery. They make both the frosted and the sticky pecan topped at a decent price and I would buy those again without hesitation. By the way, the earlier you come the more desserts they have available. Wow! Talk about delicious! My husband and I ordered a cake for my 50th birthday from Blessed Little Kitchen. I wanted a classic white almond cake, like you would have at a wedding. It was the most delicious cake I have ever had! We also ordered cute disco theme sugar cookies. My guests loved them! They are soft but not too soft. They were absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious. The icing used on top of the cookies was flavorful and not too sweet. 7 million 5 star reviews can not be wrong! I first tried the bakery at a wedding we went to last year. I was blown away and asked the bride where did that cake come from before I ever said congratulations. Wedding cakes are normally dry and old and this was soft with really good frosting that was not too sweet. We now make sure very single time we are in the area we stop. Every single thing is delicious and baked with such love. It is also great that it's not just boring cupcakes, you will be amazed at the variety in the case. The frosted cookies are really done beautifully but lots of times they get hard, not from here still soft. My favorite thing by far is the banana cake with the vanilla frosting. My absolute favorite bakery in the area! We moved back to the area 3 years ago and I just discovered BLK this year and am obsessed. Everything I have tried has been amazing. They have my favorite frosted sugar cookies that are so fresh and flavorful - I recently placed an order for cookies for my daughter's birthday and they were a huge hit with everyone. Been going here since they opened and I love all their treats especially the salted caramel cheesecake bites! I was so disappointed with the bakery.. customer service was surprisingly bad for Christian based company.. I understand everyone has bad days, but I talk to them twice about my daughter's birthday cake and both times they were very short tempered on the phone, didn't seem to want to collaborate on the cake. The cake itself turned out beautiful... But it was so gross tasting. It was dense and dry, very bland. There are a lot of bakeries around the area that make beautiful cakes, so it was a shame that it tasted so bad. How have I not reviewed this place yet? Last weekend I called to see what small cakes (4 in, 2 layer cakes) were available but was disappointed to find out only 2 flavors were left. By chance I asked if anymore Tuxedo cakes (a layer of vanilla cake and a layer of chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and buttercream frosting) would be available later in the afternoon (it was 1230pm) and luckily I asked cuz one would be available in 20 mins!!! Score! Since it was just my family of 5, the small cake was plenty for our birthday celebration. And it was oh, so good. I also picked up day old cookies 6/$5 and it came with a variety of flavors (our favs were the chocolate chip walnut and the almond crinkle). Lastly we also enjoyed some cinnamon rolls. I took my son here on a Wednesday during our spring break for a treat following an appointment. This unassuming find is positioned in the corner of a strip mall off of 47 in Huntley. Once you find it, next to the florist, you won't be disappointed! We walked in to find dozens of different custom cookies for my son to choose from. The aromas were fantastic and we decided we would also purchase a few cinnamon rolls to go home with for the others! They come in singles and four packs and I have to say, you better get the four packs! They were moderately priced if not a bit high. But as a local small business I'm happy to support them! And boy were we glad we did. These are, and I don't say this lightly, the best rolls I've ever had! The frosting was generous and the density of cake was outstanding! One of the best parts is that you can heat them up for 30 seconds to get them to that fresh level. The owner is the one who sold them to us and she is wonderful and engaging. Nice little bakery in Huntley on 47 just north of 62. Finally stopped by this newly opened local bakery to try it out. Sampled some very delicious cookies. Made with wholesome ingredients and love. So of course I bought cookies on my first visit. Hid them in the freezer to save for Thanksgiving. They also sell pies, cinnamon rolls, and other homemade yummies. Gotta check their Facebook page for what's on sale each day/week. Come early for their cinnamon rolls as they sell out fast. These are made with yeast dough and not just a donut rolled up. Mary, the baker, makes traditional flavored goodies as well as experimenting with new flavors. For example, she baked up some almond caramel brûlée cookies this week. Super yum!
